I'm curious how much money they had to pay Karen Allen and John Rhys-Davies, especially Allen since she was supposedly a last minute addition like Maul in Solo.
Rhys-Davies must have done alright out of it, since he refused a cameo in the fourth one. Allen is so infamously nice they would have probably gotten away with paying her peanuts. A shame. She and the character deserved better than a mere reshoots cameo (the director himself has confirmed she had a potentially tough time coming into a film that had been shooting so long).
Not that the only reason Rhys-Davies turned down a cameo in KotCS was because he only showed up for the wedding. He wanted Sallah to actually be involved with the adventure like before. Then again Rhys-Davies has been known to star in some really awful stuff over the years, I remember him being in a few of those Sci-Fi channel movies, like the one about the Chupacabra on the cruise ship.
He just likes having an actual role, not just a line or two of dialogue in a cameo role. He likes to act, and he wants to actually be given material to do that. Can't blame him for that.
He's an artist who does it for the love of acting, and doesn't need the money at this point.

I think originally he denied the reshoots at the end of 2022, but apparently they decided to reshoot the ending of the movie only a few months ago? So basically the movie was shot in mid-2021 to early-2022, then they did reshoots over a year later.

Yes. When is the last time she cast an Asian actor as a lead in one of her movies? Why did she snub Ke Huy Quan when he was publicly petitioning for a role in the new Indiana Jones movie? She keeps giving posh brunette English women roles that belong to Asians.

How hard is it to make a comfy Indiana Jones kino and not destroy everything? Making Indiana Jones, Han Solo, Luke Skywalker become lame and killing off James Bond is not some groundbreaking cinema, it's just stupid.
