Well, I will say from this short clip it has good characters that you can grasp their personality quickly and the tone is more subtle in its humor and not obnoxious. But I fear Scissors has the qualities of possibly become a bully down the line and Paper could end up becoming an unsympathetic and insufferable with his genius (ala Lisa Simpsons) and Rock could just become stupid.
I feel there is a hint of Ed, Edd n Eddy in here just with different ingredients but only time will tell if it will become better or worse or it will be TREATED better or worse.

      >from the creators of Disney Channel's Bizaardvark
      >their other writing credits being Brickleberry/Paradise PD, Momma Named Me Sheriff, and Robot Chicken Season 11
This is a very uninspired premise, but the "odd couple" trio dynamic shows a little potential.

See, this is a good take. The characters' personalities are on clear display, and there's some decent comedic potential to come from that. Lazy premise that anyone could've put together, yeah, but the execution of said premise and the world around these characters is what will determine how good or bad this show may turn out to be.

What is with you guys' obsession with Greenblatt's Disney TVA project? As far as we know, it's still just a pilot in development, not a confirmed upcoming series. The fact we don't even have a name should keep y'all from overhyping this alleged "show."

Disney's definitely got the most promising slate of cartoons at the moment, but Greenblatt's thing is not what you should be heralding as the face of their current movement.

      Anonymous

I don't know if I'm in the minority here but CN's upcoming stuff seems like it has the most potential. Greenblatt's Disney stuff will be good I'm sure but it's probably going to be episodic just like everything else they're doing

        Anonymous

No idea why you're using "episodic" in a derogatory manner.

To me, Hamster & Gretel is maybe the only upcoming DTVA project I'm hesitant about, but everything else has me hyped. CN's stuff does sound exciting, but something about Invincible Fight Girl's designs just disinterests me for some reason. I'm also not a big wrestling fan, so hopefully they can make up for that by just making a solid show with interesting characters regardless.

With Hamster And Gretel, Disney is just moronic with it's promotion literally the Annecy poster is better than that sneak peek

            Anonymous

Well shit. That's way better promo art than what we've officially gotten up to this point, but I'm still more interested in the brother than I am in the two main leads.

I'm hoping it's like Hey Arnold! and Phineas and Ferb, where the main character isn't actually the one the series title's named after. Assuming a big part of H&G's heart comes from the bond between two siblings with many years between them, this might be the case.

            https://worldscreen.com/tvkids/amy-friedman-talks-cartoonito-success-live-action-expansion/

            >On the live-action expansion, Friedman noted: “Girls often graduate out of animation. Some of our most incredible competitors have been at the live-action game for a long time. We know that’s what girls want. With live action, we’re excited to reflect the world as it is, inviting girls in without alienating the boys. We do that through single-camera and multi-cam comedies and dramas.”

              Anonymous

I hope a more tech-savvy executive showed Friedman the effects her words had on so many people. She better be embarrassed for saying something so foolish. Not only did her statement harken back to CN Real, one of the biggest failures in the network's history, but it also sent women WAY back by insinuating that animation "isn't for them." Fricking ridiculous that someone so dismissive of cartoons would be sitting in such a high and influential position for a major network.

is obsessed with this shit that it screams a "Greenblattgay/Harvey Beaksgay". I mean Greenblatt is nice outspoken dude, who knows how to build foundations outta anything possible, but that’s all considered. OTOH, there’s nothing perfect about him since, he’s still like what others would refer or considered him as. What doesn’t help is that >131265041 brings this shit up anytime if the topic of the thread is about the upcoming DTVAs, especially if the ones that’s being sparsely made by alumnis from different shows, and if Greenblatt’s upcoming stuff alongside with others from BCG, and acts like HB is the reason why BCG exists and treats it like, it’s the second coming of christ.

/co/, you literally wanted an original Nicktoon and now you're disappointed.

Concept is terrible but ithe show itself isn't half bad. I sense there's some understanding of comedic timing. It honestly feels more like a Disney/CN show than a Nick show which for Nickelodeon's sake is a good thing.

Y'know, this defeatist attitude you guys always have with brand-new cartoons from Nickelodeon isn't the gotcha you think it is. Maybe try ACTUALLY checking out these shows when they premiere? If it turns out you enjoy the show, try talking about it in cases other than when it's in danger of cancellation? I promise you, no one's gonna care to acknowledge a show whose fans are so fricking self-deprecating and pitiful.

Show some support for the more promising new Nick shows instead of only ever talking about the newest unnecessary gimmick they're pulling with their whole "SpongeBob Cinematic Universe," and then whining when that's all Nick will ever keep putting their money into. Have some fricking hope for once and at least PRETEND Nick is capable of becoming more than just The SpongeBob Channel.

You can’t really please Nick fans, no matter if it’s original.

No idea how this'll turn out, but it's just inherently funny to me that such a show concept will exist and air on fricking television worldwide. Nick's really scraping at the bottom of the barrel now if THIS was the pitch that sold them out of all submissions for their Shorts Program.

Again, I could end up loving this show dearly, but I still can't help but laugh that this got the go-ahead from a whole team of executives hoping it could be their next SpongeBob. Even SpongeBob was backed by a pretty genius vision manned by an artist with tons of creative yet approachable ideas for an underwater world thanks to his deep appreciation for marine science and an equally deep understanding of what makes a story hold onto your attention.
