Yes that’s why Manga outsells comics.

Manga has no powerlevels that matter
      >but muh lizard balls
Roshi does better in a fight against Jiren than God Ki Goku, just because it would look cool

I have never seen a good argument against power-scaling. All the whiny anti-battleboard gays can do is post le stan lee video which he contradicted by making official strength classes. It's all impotent seething over a harmless self-contained hobby.

you mean the "official strength classes" which they immediately retconned and completely redid them, because even they knew they were dumb and made no sense, like saying peter is as strong as the fricking Silver Surfer just because he has more self-inserting fanboys who'd get mad otherwise?
Stan Lee was right, it's just about who has the most numerous and pathetic fanboys

        >like saying peter is as strong as the fricking Silver Surfer just because he has more self-inserting fanboys who'd get mad otherwise?
There was a bit of unreliable narrator going on there
Since half the people on the superweight tier were complaining about their position on it

        >hulk at the highest tier, says no one else should be on it
        >iron man at hulk level, but for about 2 minutes at most before expending energy
        >colossus only one level above spider-man, because he is still young and hasnt reached his full potential
        >namor at thing-tier, but only because he is on land, he would be stronger in the sea
        >silver surfer at spider-man tier, but he would have limitless power if he used the power cosmic
That list was more for fun than a serious power ranking

yeah exactly. Anyone complaining that a powerlevel is inconsistent because "but muh handbook listed b***h X as Class Y" is moronic and missing that it's just done for fun

The argument is that power scaling simply doesn't work.

It was also just that anyone old enough knows that power scaling was pretty much just guaranteed to start some of the dumbest flame wars ever

When someone is fricking ridiculously outmatched at least. Like a street level guy that knows kung fu is just plain not going to be able to do anything to a kryptonian except break their hands.

I like how this skip him beating GL, MM and Aquaman because the writer or the artist suddenly realised that it was all bullshit and they just wrapped it up lmao.

Yes, otherwise what's the point of a power set, or lack thereof, if you can just do whatever? Lois Lane can arm wrestle Superman, Spider-Man can fly around in space, Batman can crash into the planet at terminal velocity and survive unscathed, why the frick not?

When a clear line of capabilities with characters is made, a writer actually should bother to try and write something resembling a coherent story around them to suit what they can and cannot do, trying to write characters around a story is why you end up with dumb shit like the OP. Unless there are extraordinary circumstances that allow such a thing to happen in a one-off instance to allow, keep that shit as consistent as possible.

Capeshit is losing interest because it’s been stagnant, uncreative and telling the exact same completely repetitive story for nearly 100 years. Not because it didn’t give your spideymans the right powerlevelz

Because the stories are SHIT and are full of dumbass inconsistent logic. The huge drop off are from people who no longer want to shrivel their brains excusing this garbage. No one with standards is going to sacrifice their life by training their brains to make leaps in logic as they read these stories, i’ll sure help you in the long run when you get dementia fricktard.

Bring me a good story that egregiously violated power level's. Even the fricking Iliad had power levels God>Demigods=/>Heros empowered by gods.

Imagine if in the Iliad Achilles was killed by some goat hearder who tripped on his ankle instead of getting killed by Paris whose bow was guided by Apollo. Would have completely ruined the storyline.

Diomedes beat Aphrodite and Ares with a regular spear in the same afternoon
Heracles beat Zeus in wrestling and several other gods
Sisyphus a regular man beat up Thanatos the god of all death and chained him in his basement

You need to update your batwank knowledge, batman has already canonically survived falling from space at ablation speeds.

Correct me if I am wrong, but Batman doesn't have enough mass for him to burn while reentering the Earth atmosphere. Also side note: Strider Hiryu did this feat twice before Batman, when he was falling from the Moon base at the end of both games.

It should but it's been irreversibly tainted by the homosexuals who are into it. I don't like bullying, but db threads and video comments make that a tough position.

The "who's quicker, Usain Bolt or Bruce Lee?" line is a good way to look at it. Characters are stronger at different things and can't be summarized into a single number. Any character could conceivably defeat any other character, their skill sets and abilities determine how. Wonder Woman could defeat Superman by dodging his attacks and lassoing him, but Superman can defeat Wonder Woman just by landing one or more good solid punches. But if you write Wonder Woman trading punches with Superman and winning, then you've fricked up.

Here is the thing for me. I don't mind outrageous stories in comics, but don't insult my intelligence and tell me I am suppose to take the story super seriously. This is why I like comic books like The Tick. It is cartoony, cheesy, and over the top. It never takes itself seriously, nor is the writer hitting you over the head to do so( unlike many others in the industry).

Only to maintain some level of consistency, like most people here have already said. Can X character beat Y character? Yeah, using the tools and skills inherent to their character. It's when they pull out random bullshit or it's completely obvious that the writers made the other person hold the idiot ball that I roll my eyes. It's why I don't mind BvS trope until they start doing moronic shit like the Failsafe plot.
Also powerlevelgays aren't even fans. They only post out of context scans in their "debates" because none of them actually read the comics they're referencing (which is probably why all comic characters from DB are chimeric abominations of many different continuities stapled together).
