How exciting
The Mandalorian is straight up the worst Star Wars media ever produced.
It's soulless like the sequels, badly written like the prequels, has less budget than A New Hope, the entire show revolves around filonislop cartoons and middle aged roasties and manchildren with negative testosterone levels worshipping a fucking muppet.
have a nice day.
ok but still, you can't deny that you stood and clapped at this
You obviously didn't read Jay from RLM's tweeter reviews of this episode.
Reddit Letter Media is the reason why Star Wars is in the hands of Disney.
>fat retards in Wisconsin are responsible for a $4 billion sale of intellectual property rights
Have you forgotten the Plinkett reviews? The HitB where they said that if Disney makes a Star Wars movie, they should hire JJ Abrams?
Did RLM praise JJ Trek? Really? Kek
No.
>JJ Abrams should direct the sequels and George Lucas should direct people to their seats.
The point was that Abrams's directing style was better suited for Star Wars than Star Trek, and I think that's true.
They aren't the reason they hired Abrams. Abrams was just an obvious choice. So were Johnson and Trevorrow.
Jonson wasn’t. He was a good candidate for one of the side movies, or to finish off the trilogy, but having him do the second act was stupid.
From a business standpoint if not a quality one, It should have gone Colin - Abrams - Jonson if they really had to have them all, because Colin is more adept at starting off a memberberry reboot, Abrams being second would limit his ability to shove in mystery boxes while also having a framework, and Jonson is the only one who could actually write a conclusion, while also having limited ability to fuck everything up for the sake of it
Johnson was the most "inspired" choice of the three, certainly, but he was a proven genre film director and Looper in particular was a hit. I'm not making a comment on the content of their Star Wars films or the quality of their writing. I don't think any of them should have been writing for Star Wars. I'm just saying none of them were left-field choices going in.
Actually it's quite the opposite, lil' chuddie. The Mandalorian is the best thing Star Wars has produced since Empire Strikes Back.
That's Andor.
Andor and Rogue One both felt like love letters to the fans that were pissed off by what Disney did to the EU.
But Disney still hasn't realized they need to just start making "Legends" content. Hell, just demote all of their stuff to Legends and let it rot.
Season 1 is better than most Disney SW stuff and also better than a lot of EU slop. Not that the EU is bad, lots of stuff I love in there, but not all of it is good either
Did you not see 3D Clone Wars, Rebels, Bad Batch? Rogue One or the sequels?
>filonislop
The bad batch is worse in this regard, literal highschool notebook deviant art OCs.
Call me when they start adapting some real Star Wars kinos.
Endgame?
SOVL
Do pro-EU anons actually read all those books? Or are they just pretending to like it because they hate Disneywars
I've done the New Republic to the Legacy era. With a smattering of earlier stuff and some comics.
Imagine unironically wasting your life reading thousands of pages of this fucking drivel. You could have read the entirety of Plato and Aristotle, which amount to the same page count. You could have studied a new skill by reading books with the same amount of pages. You could have become better and smarter as a result. You could acquire valuable and useful skills that make your life better, and the lives of those around you. Skills, which could benefit you. But you chose to waste your time reading thousands of pages of fucking Star Wars "literature." It's not even good prose. The stories are not even good. It's trash. Merchandise garbage. Not even good enough to read on a toilet.
Unironically, unequivocally have a nice day.
Plato and Aristotle are much more difficult reads. There is a time and place for genre fiction. Suck it tryhard.
This is shit fiction. It's merchandise bait for braindead fanboys who will consume anything with a Star Wars label on it. It has zero literary value. Embarrassing, really.
>It has zero literary value
Never claimed it did. I just like being in Star Wars sometimes.
You are right then again...
What the hell are you doing here wasting time, especially in Soiwars bait thread lmao
>Unironically, unequivocally have a nice day.
For not reading non-fiction exclusively? You should read some stoic philosophy.
I've heard bad stuffs about NJO, like 'Vongs suck ass. It's Warhammer level cringe 2edgy4you shit. Just read Zahn and be done with it'. And I've heard nothing but bad things about LoTF. How was your impression
I really enjoyed Legacy. Personal favorite arc but apparently I'm retarded for not reading Heidegger all day so don't listen to me.
The strength of the EU is that you can pick and choose whatever you feel like and just ignore the rest
>Pick and choose whatever you feel like and just ignore the rest
How the fuck is that a strength when you can say the exact same thing about Disney Canon
Because the disney canon is supposed to be an interconnecting product, while the EU is decentralised.
Zayne Carrick, Darth Bane and Admiral Thrawn’s stories all have absolutely nothing to do with each other, while every NuWars story is supposed to be canon.
Not him, but not really. All of nu canon sucks, especially when you remember how the OT heroes end up.
Then EU suck ass too because all of the OT heroes' work turns out to be meaningless in the future. Sith still stands firm, Republic is gone and Empire is now somehow good guys, Jedi temple gets destroyed (again) and Jedi became more impotent than ever
>Empire is now somehow good guys
Always were.
>Through strength, I gain power. Through power, I gain victory. Through victory, my chains are broken. The Force shall free me.
Jedi have yet to refute this.
In the EU the heroes of the OT won a peace that lasted two hundred years before it fragmented, and even afterward the Sith were in the process of tearing themselves apart within a few years, and the faction following in the Empire’s footsteps were both nowhere near as bad as Palpatine’s Empire and had an uneasy peace with the republic’s successor.
Compare to disneywars, where they’re such pathetic failures that they didn’t even win hope for any single generation
Same applies to canon, EUnuch.
I read all the Rogue Squadron books.
i only read the books that came out in the 90s. some were very good (thrawn trilogy, first 4 x-wing books, crespin's solo trilogy, shadows of the empire), some were mediocre (kevin j anderson's trilogy, truce at bakura, courtship of princess leia), and some were so bad i barely remember any details about them (black fleet trilogy, darksaber, the corellia trilogy, the solo/calrissian books written in the 80s).
the x-wing comics were quite good and the dark empire comics were ok. pretty much any star wars video game that came out between 1993 and 2006 was also very good.
Too appealing to straight white men
>Cade Skywalker high on death sticks being hounded by Mark Hamill's ghost to get sober and save the galaxy
I doubt that from Disney.
>Darth Krayt on there twice
>Asajj Ventress riding the rancor
KINO
>Het on left side
>Darth Krayt on the other
Kino...

Where is the second half from?
Yeah Star Wars still sucks ass.
Disney sucks ass
More like man-blow
More like Slop Wars is back. The Mandolorian is LCD trash that’s only considered good because of shoehorned ‘Memba berries.
Sometimes I see pro Mandalorian threads pop up and fear this place has lost it's taste, then I see people shitting on it in the thread and my hope is restored.
>tfw they're going to ruin Thrawn even more as they bring the Nightsisters back
Fuck Filoni.
STAR WARS
What do you think would have been an ideal Mandalorian show? Personally, I just want to see Mongol Mandos on speeders riding on a steppe planet, interacting with Viking Mandos in the north, and seeing the politics within different clans. Maybe we'll get some of that last point in s3 but I'm almost sure it will be pushed out in favor of more shots of baby yoda
Mandalorians already have a backstory. But I'd pay to see space mongols and space vikings fight off the ~~*banking clan*~~ or something.
>Banking clan
I always thought Plagueis being one of them was hilarious
I know they have a backstory. Hell, if they wanted to do segments of existing Mandalorian history, I'd totally be up for it. Taung, Crusaders, the different Mandalores, anything Revan related. It'd be awesome. My suggestion is just an aesthetic one
I feel like Disney is missing out in bringing in different flavors of these subcultures, but I digress
