Guggenheim left the Arrowverse after Crisis, and was told by people in WB he could expect new calls for work, but got none, which he blames on Gunn, though the real reason is other israeli execs probably treating him like a bad luck charm after the X-Men Islamist incident, plus Berlanti and Kreisberg getting exposed for pedo/abuse/casting couch shit, which Gug evaded (when one woman tried to smear him others arrived to refute), but is still lumped in by association, since the three worked for years and Gug may have covered for the other two.
Though I don't think Gug's personal lamentations about his career impact the Superman show.

As much as I think the writers would like to have this show only be about the title family, it's just not how TV works. They have to be sparing with their CGI scenes and action sequences, and they need other drama to fill the season. It is what it is, it's not a 20 page comic. Frankly, I don't know why people still get mad about this stuff when it's what every superhero show has to do. There's not a single example otherwise.

Yep, previous actor made some weird comments about Covid, mental health and a whole bunch of other things. Followed it up by just quickly quitting with a recast being done fairly soon before the season began filming. May have legitimately been a mental health scare, but who knows. Still better to duck out before whatever was bothering him got worse.

Still not as bad as the Elongated Man getting canned because of his previous job as an edgy stand-up comedian, with Grant shitting upon him as if he was the spawn of Satan. James Gunn, of all people, could have emphasized with that one, after his own temporary canning over edgy tweets.
That was the beginning of the end for Flash. Grant plays a pacifist to THIS DAY on that show but went off on Ralph's actor like the hypocritical butthole he is.
Suddenly the whole plotline with Caitlin makes much more sense.
