How did this show manage to survive St George Floyd’s death and the 2020 election BLM riots without being cancelled?
Black folk only watch anime when it comes to animation. This was on HBO too I think, so they couldn't afford it.
adult swim
This is currently the dumbest post on this board
What???
nah homie knowmsayin I be watching that live action anime too knowmsayin shit's ridiculous knowmsayin
>This was on HBO too I think
Go go bed, you'll be late for school tomorrow.
Because it got cancelled years before?
>How did this show manage to survive St George Floyd’s death and the 2020 election BLM riots without being cancelled?
It wasn't being produced in 2020
Why are you guys fighting? just chi- ACK!
How did they get away with this
it was made by blacks, for blacks, and they were based in those times, the early 2000s to 2010 were the best time of humanity
Creator is a black man
Stinkmeaner beating up demons in hell makes me laugh every time
The Boondocks was pretty mediocre. I remember watching the show when it was originally airing, and thinking "where's the jokes?"
It took me years and a retrospective look back to realize that the jokes were just black people acting foolish. And then I understood why Dave Chappelle ran from the Chappelle show.
You think the only comedy are setup, punchline jokes? Funny is funny, homie.
>, homie
>I remember watching the show when it was originally airing, and thinking "where's the jokes?"
Just say you were too stupid to understand the show
The show was to stupid to craft a joke beyond "WE'RE LOUD AND SAYING STUPIDS STUFF"
Also, most of the show's iconic moments are just reenactments of real videos of real people. They literally just lifted real life 1:1, and didn't bother being clever about it.
inb4: "other shows reference real life"
Yes, but they're clever about it. They add to it. They transform it in some way.
Here you are, on an anonymous image board, trying to save face even though you're anonymous.
>The show was to stupid to craft a joke beyond "WE'RE LOUD AND SAYING STUPIDS STUFF"
Again, just say you were too stupid to understand the show.
No, I understand it perfectly. It's very lowbrow humor. But that's not even why it's bad. Lowbrow humor can actually be funny if done right.
no, you're just exceptionally stupid
>It's very lowbrow humor.
You have to be trolling
Not at all. Referencing Malcom X every now and again doesn't make the show smart
Maybe if you keep posting about how you didn't understand the humor, everyone else will agree that you're smart.
>"Le pick up the soap XDDDD so fanny."
You're smart.
Thanks 🙂
But not because I'm above prison rape soap gags. I've just seen it a dozen times in a dozen different films, sitcoms, and standup comedy before Boondocks did it. It's hacky material.
>I've just seen it a dozen times in a dozen different films, sitcoms, and standup comedy
You must be the life of the party, Anon.
I laugh politely when people make bad jokes.
But I don't owe the TV screen a laugh. It's a show with writers. The best material they can think of, is to beat the soap drop dead horse?
White b***hes, black b***hes, Mongolian b***hes, Alaskan b***hes and this shitposting b***hes.
their are nuanced jokes all over the show, like the flashback to Dr. King's speech way back and he has a big ass 300 lb homie standing next to him like some kind of rapper's bodyguard, thats funny
The absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence
Eh, the show has it's moments.
>I watched 20 seconds of that video and the guy seems like a moron and the video seems like it has nothing to do with the subject so I'm not gonna keep watching.
I read the first line of your post. And you seem like a moron, so I'm not going to continue reading.
at least you're adhering perfectly to your idiom. because these posts are a modern art piece, right? homosexual
>lowbrow humor
You know that lowbrow humor is shit like fart and stinky pussy jokes, right? Embarrassing.
No, that's under the umbrella of lowbrow humor. But it's not exclusively bodily functions. It's also stuff like "damn, homies be tripping, yo." and "you gon get smacked talking like that." and random outbursts of violence.(random kung fu scenes out of now where)
Why is it low-brow exactly?
Because there's no wit behind it + the subject matter is all base emotional level stuff.
>I fail to comprehend that it's a parallel to the Black person condition
Thatsthejoke.jpg
I can sit here and type out a 2000 character post for why you're wrong. But someone already did that work for me. This guys explains it pretty well using girl logic. But if do a little bit of extrapolating, then you should be able to see how it relates to the boondocks. https://www.tiktok.com/@hoe_math/video/7285868428773215534
I watched 20 seconds of that video and the guy seems like a moron and the video seems like it has nothing to do with the subject so I'm not gonna keep watching.
The boondocks joke is literally just taking a serious problem and exaggerating it to make it comical, highlighting it while making it possible to highlight in a polite setting at the same time. Using humor to make a topic that's too far over the edge to be polite to talk about just barely *not* over the edge enough that you can.
I mean, it's pretty obvious that the boondocks is a show about social issues in the american black community, right? I don't think they've been shy about that.
If you really think the homie moment moment is JUUUUST A JOOOOOKE LOOKIT THE SILLY BLACK MEN BEING SILLY IT'S A JOOOKE (AND ALSO IM A RACIST BUT IT'S JUST A JOOOKE SO ITS OK!!) then you're legit a moron.
South Park is just poopy jokes too.
I've been saying for years that South Park is just an animated newpaper comic. You're not exactly changing my mind by saying South Park is low brow too.
Though I will say that South Park is slightly more transformative than Boondocks. Just for the fact that they take everything to the extreme. Like when Stan becomes a cynic, he sees the entire world as literal shit. It's lowbrow, but transformative. Meanwhile, Huey is a cynic, but he's just a normal kid occasionally spewing philosophy rhetoric.
I would say that Low Brow humor done very right is Drawn Together. That show can actually throw some curveballs.
you must be one joyless homie
the frick y'all lookin' at?
When you go to prison the most importan thang in yo life is gonna be booty
>yall better listen to him
A man's butt
>aha
booty, getting some booty is more important than water, it's more important than food
if I see a man I like, I tell em like this hear
i likes ya
>HE LIKES YOU
and i wantchu
>AND HE WANTS YU
>we're America! we don't do the right thing! we just keep doing the wrong thing until it turns out right!
Is the best, shows the guys are real homies.
This reminds me when someone said that this was what Will Smith had during the Oscars
>portray racist stereotype
>black homies love it
how did they do it
It wasn't just racist stereotypes it was real shit the creators had to live around, which others recognized
OH YEAH
YOU WAS TALKIN ALL THAT GOOD SHIT A MINUTE AGO
BUT YOU JUST GOT KICKED IN YO CHEST
YOU EAT A DICK homie
YOU EAT A DICK
>Did you just congratulate me for reading?
PICK UP THAT SOAP
Anime peaked with Boondocks.
That time Martin Luther King called the black community a bunch of ignorant Black folk
Holy shit it's hilarious
"READ homie, READ!"
The entire Usher episode was fantastic and Theo joy thing that comes close for me was Gin Rummy going off about WMDs.
“We wuz lookin for weapons of mass destruction.”
-“well did you find ‘em?”
“YOU KNOW GOT-DAYUM WELL WE DINNT FIND ‘EM”
The absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence.
>some butthurt, whiney Black person doesn't like a show that shows Black folk for what they really are
Go shill somewhere else, homosexual. Or take your moronation elsewhere. You obviously are on the lowest rung on the ladder of intelligence. The show isn't perfect but your reasons are fricking lame. Imagine hating on a show because you've seen everything before. What a sad, ignorant life.
>pic related, it's you
