Krakoa won't hold up in posterity. You will have to read too many shit books like Excalibur and Marauders to get the full picture.

Never read either and I'm following along fine. hell, I'm not even reading Duggan. Just the Hickman and Gillen books and the cross-over events that directly tie to one another. I was reading the X-Force stuff until I started losing interest and aside from how exactly Colossus got mindcontrolled, you're not missing anything even remotely significant to the overall story, and even that's not something super important.

it is more of a suggestion in a interview he did on AIPT
            >AIPT: Finally, it’s become something of an X-Men Monday tradition for you to tease X-projects on the distant horizon (Dark X-Men was teased in December 2022 and then again in March 2023). SO, for all the curious — and patient — Betsy Braddock and Rachel Summers fans hungry for information, what can you say about this juicy nugget from Gerry Duggan’s X page?

            >Steve: Gerry who? Sorry, I have no idea what this is referring to.

            >I kid, I kid, though Gerry did tease this PRETTY early compared to publishing plans. What I can say is that neither character appears in Dark X-Men, though I am writing both… and not in the same place. (They are NOT splitting up, so don’t start harassing me!)

            >I’d guess we have a few months still before I can say anything more concretely here — and a few X-surprises BEFORE then that no one’s going to guess, like my chance to finally write one of my lifetime favorites and a story involving a character I got asked about quite a bit last winter…

      I think thats done with.
Inferno set up that in timeline 10-A, the future muties destroyed the Dominions. And we know in 10-B, someone ascends into becoming a Dominion and is preventing other ascensions.
So it looks like they just completely dropped the machine Dominion plot by having them all killed off in the 10-A future, and replaced it with the Essex Dominion plot.

This was an interesting experiment. See how self-inserting X-Men fans act when mutants are given a win. And it's gone about as expected, they all became massively insufferable and fully bought into the cult angle

      Anonymous

      >fully bought into the cult angle
This honestly kinda surprised me. Like, at the start, it felt like the bulk of people were all "this cult shit is fricked. What the actual frick" and it was generally understood that despite muties getting a win, this is not good and was going to be part of the reason it was all going to fall down.
And at some point we went from that to most of them fully drinking the cool aid, and wishing death on the flatscans for not bowing to the mutie overlords.
Naivety on my part, I guess.

I dont get it. Wasnt this the plan all along? For Krakoa to eventually fall? Hickman left because the other X-writers wanted to keep going for a bit more instead of moving on to the fall of X stuff. Why are people acting like there's a mysterious reason why this is happening?

      Anonymous

      From what's been pieced together:

was supposed to have Mystique holding mutantkind hostage via the reveal that Sinister had a backdoor in place to kill all of the cloned mutants (hence why Hickman called the mini "Inferno"). Mystique gets killed and Destiny doesn't come back to life period and Moira never gets depowered/forced to flee.

was supposed to fall under Hickman via the Nasty Boys working with ORCHIS with Jean being poisoned and causing a massive telepathic bomb go off with her death, taking out most of the islands population. Moira would mercy kill Xavier and go on the run with the Cerebro Sword, which would contain the last surviving back-up as Orchis would destroy the back-ups save for it.

this is all going on, the Children of the Vault would break free and start going on a killing spree that threatens to wipe out all life on Earth. Orchis, X-Men, and earth's heroes all have to put aside their hate boner to stop the COTV and save Earth....

      >>Only for the Phalanx (who got to their black hole and know about Moira) to show up when everyone's barely survived the COTV fight to kill a now weakened Earth and are the power behind Omega Sentinel, who betrays Nimrod and Orchis in general. To beat them, Earth needs the Wakanda space empire's help because all of the other major space empires abandon Earth after Abigail Brand's schemes get exposed. But to do this, Storm has to retrieve her bastard son (conceived off-panel from a booty call she had with Black Panther) from the Weapon Plus project's "World" where she stashed him in when she got pregnant and people tried to kill her and her unborn kid.

      >>The Bastard unites the mutant and Wakanda empires to beat back the Phalanx and gets declared God Emperor of the solar system.

rebuilds Earth and forgets that Orchis tried to kill mutantkind

              >that's like saying that captain america doesn't exist in kang's timeline, because we haven't seen one
What the frick? He primarily blamed Cap for being the whole reason why his empire got fricked up, that's why he went back to the past to deal with the Avengers and with a hateboner in particular for Cap, no shit Captain America existed in his timeline.

No shit sherlock, that's the point of your moronic assessment. IF Avengers exist, then the X-Men also exist. As a matter of fact, one of the avengers line-up that defeated Kang featured Storm and Colossus

Because Kang has an interstellar empire comprised of humans and no major presence of mutants anywhere, so it can be inferred that mutants are no longer a thing in his civilization for one reason or another, whereas your stupid ass assessment of "WE NO SEE CAPTAIN AMERICA WE CAN INFER HE DIDN'T EXIST" is fricking stupid due to the very fricking fact that he blamed Captain America and the Avengers for his empire getting fricked up in the first place.
                >As a matter of fact, one of the avengers line-up that defeated Kang featured Storm and Colossus
IN THE FUTURE, moron, the contention is mutants existing in Kang's future.

Then why oh why, did Kang care about Wanda, her kids, and Apocalypse twins? Just because Kang doesn't interact with x-men (which is false btw), doesn't not mean that x-men are non-existent. In one of the timelines, mutants moved to another planet, it was a major plot point in Guardians of the Galaxy (from the 90s). Stop talking out of your ass

We know Kang himself is human, which casts doubt on the whole homosexual superior "next stage of evolution" mumbo jumbo. He would almost certainly be a mutant if it were true, as there would be little to no humans left.

              1) Made the frick up by the internet to bait people
              2) Supposedly, it's what the world would be like if the Dark Ages didn't occur, meaning they developed tech advanced enough to casually blow up the moon and for Kang to use it to travel through the timeline to conquer different parallel timelines to his own. Mutants weren't a factor because by all indications nobody saw a difference between them and the other freaks who spontaneously developed superpowers every so often on Earth.
              3) Honestly, he might not be. Not natively, at least. Kang the Conqueror is not native to Earth 616, but he's lived through enough of it and hopped through history enough to basically know its history inside and out. That's why he's obsessed with certain heroes like Captain America, since he knows that these people are important to his own history but not WHY they're so important. It's stupid, but it's what got comic books to sell.

Pic is just made up fandom bullshit. Reminders uncanny avengers explicitly showed that Kang's timeline had no mutants on earth because Kang used time travel and Angel's bastard twin children with a geisha that had the mutant power to vomit up symbiote beetles that ate human flesh ala Maggots worms, to have said twins kidnap all mutants on earth (plus Wasp and Puck) and go out into outer space, with Magneto and Rightclops running a faachist dictatorship under the control of said twins, who control the ship and keep mutantkind in a cargo cult society on said ship in exile lest the Days of Future Past timeline (Kang was responsible for) be brought into being.

I hate idiots trying to justify story cliches

why is Kang only concerned with the Avengers? Because hes an Avengers villain.

Thats like asking why Kingpin doesn't bother the Fantastic Four or why the Serpent Society doesn't harass Spider-Man.

It's obviously some Kanggay's fanfic otherwise it'd just be actual comic book panels instead of paragraphs of text someone had to type up.

        >Saved by sudden arrival of Galactus...who then proceeds to eat their new planet, only letting the mutants themselves escape via intervention from the Phoenix
Current Galactus no longer require to consume planets again despite no longer being purple due to events of the Reckoning event.

I remember someone suggesting that the whole "Charles scrambled Reed's brain to be an butthole" will come back to bite them in the ass and Franklin will let them all die just so he can replace them with the '92 versions of the team.

    from Gillian Newsletter
    >I) That's the two creative teams, one writer, one artist. II) A radical choice by marvel to do one book where two artists are set free to do whatever they want and two writers have to desperately patch together a whole series out of datapages.

    >I know the sensible money has to be on I, but if it's the end of the Krakoan Age, there's got to be a chance of all datapages, all the time?

    >Either way, not long to wait. NYCC soon, when they'll be more details.

    >With the announcement of rotPoX and fotHoX, I suspect a few coins drop for folks, in terms of my workload and when I'll be stepping away from Work for Hire and towards my own stuff. I said how many issues I have to write, but I was writing for two series. I'm down to... 6 issues to write now, across both books. Oh, and likely something else at the end. My plan for the rest of today and tomorrow is trying to get closer to the tight plotting for one half of it. In a machine as complicated as the Krakoan Age, trying to find what is the emotional heart needs some real thought. The timeline is complicated. I have often thought that when you take a timeline structure invented by Jon, and then give it to me to play with for a few years, you're going to end up with a death pretzel.

    >So the emotions is what I'm holding onto. Caring is why we care.
