So I watched the infamous The Room and it's definitely a bad film, bad acting, mediocre story, unnecessary and cringy sex scenes that doesn't advance the plot (the part where the couple kiss with chocolate was admittedly hot). The way the actors delivered their lines was really bad, it made me think it was a poorly dubbed movie. There's something that lies within the movie that could have made it good, like when it was just the bros hanging around, the story itself isn't that bad and could have been elevated if it was handled by a professional director. As for the Disaster Artist, it was a good movie, and the comedy was on point, funnily enough it kind of made me appreciate The Room more, not that it makes it a better movie but as a fascinating project that was able to see light even with all the craziness behind the scenes, Franco killed it with his performance, though I don't think that's a surprise cause he's a genuinely good actor, especially when compared to his comedy actor buddies who he decided to cast as his co-stars. It is kind of funny how bad movies could be more memorable than good movies, but I guess genuine vision have a way of connecting to people's hearts, whether good or not.

While not a movie, the ones in Breaking Bad kind of do, because they show how Walt got a boost in confidence and is more manly/daring. In terms of movies, right now, I could only think of Beau is Afraid.

I know it's a common trope for bookgays to say "muh book was better" but seriously, go and read the first chapter and you will immediately see the problems with the movie.
In the book every second chapter tells the story of how Greg and Wiseau met in acting class and the buffoonery that would take place. The movie didn't capture any of this, it was basically a shit tier Ed Wood rip-off.
Yeah, Franco is kind of funny as Wiseau, but it's one note, and the movie doesn't hit on any of the themes of the book. The movie comes across more of a parody and mean spirited than what the book offers.
Just downloaded the book, I can't say I will read it right away because I'm not in the mood for reading anything at the moment, but I will get to it. I appreciate your passion for it.

I don't know if "horribly-cast" is the right word, but he did pull an Adam Sandler and hired all his buddies. I think him and his brother did a wonderful job in terms of performance, I don't have much to say for the rest of the cast.
