When this game released there was actually a shit-ton of arguing going on about whether Joel did the right thing by killing what very well could have been the last brain surgeon on Earth. The men, the soldiers that is, are all very fit, they're shown working out in a gym. Abby is the way she is because she obsessively lifts to be bigger as part of her driving factors. It isn't just keeping fit for her, it's part of her single minded obsession, and a way of coping. She's shown having access to food, gyms, but more importantly the drive to get larger and stronger. Or do you think the presence of gyms just magically makes a population fitter? Or that everyone who works out regularly is a bodybuilder? Abby's size is not normal, nor is it supposed to be.

It's when you go into a house in a city that is occupied by an army, and it is not only totally untouched, but it looks like it's been abandoned for maybe 3 or 4 years, and stuff is dusty. Yet it's actually been 30 years, somehow the house hasn't half fallen in, and no one in all that time has scavenged it for parts or supplies. That actually impacts the setting the game is selling to me. Person with drive to become muscular with full access to food and gyms becoming muscular after five years, not so much.

Third, we have the story itself. Abby meets Lev, a character who is confirmed Trans, and late into the game, Abby calls Lev "Her People."
So the character who looks like a man, happens to run into a trans character, and says something that gives off the vibe that Abby is trans as well, is actually not trans, and it's all a coincidence. I refuse to believe that. I think it's insane that Neil Druckmann claims to be this progressive guy, when he makes a character so clearly trans and then backpedals after the game comes out

The moronic part is an organization in the post apocalypse allocating 5k calories worth of food for some b***h wanting to get into bodybuilding just so she can get captured and raped to death or eaten the minute she's out in the wild.
