Both are enjoyable for different reasons. And those reasons are all different ways of adhering to the comics. One is a campy and aesthetic stylized look at the future just like the comics. The other sacrifices that due to budget reasons and gives us a good look at what would be a day in the life of Dredd. Complete with the mannerisms we would expect of him
Urban looks like the biggest homosexual in that helmet. He looks he just shit his pants. And that lack of chin... He's trying so hard to look cool. Meanwhile Stallone just "is" cool. That's how Dredd should look like.
I don't really care about exactly what Dredd looks like as long as he keeps the helmet on. One of the signature things about Dredd and 2000 AD are how many different artists have drawn their takes on the characters.
Karl Urban is a big fan of the character and insisted that he'll only take the role if he never took the helmet off. Guy actually cares.
I hope we'll get a sequel one day.

>SUCH SOUL; SUPER KINO; ULTRA FUNNY
Frick off gays, it was shit and so were the Actors and Plot.
Also anything that features Rob Schneider immediately ruins anything related to him.
I like the aesthetics and SFX of Stallone's and the uniforms are spot on. But I prefer the story of Urban's Dredd. If only they could make a mashup of the two, Urban's Dredd with the look of Stallone's, making the uniforms a bit dirty and gritty, we'd have a perfect Dredd film.
The slo mo and tall building shots and colors were all made for 3D, was a blast in theaters. I remember being particularly impressed by the incendiary round bursting open like fireworks in that one scene when dredd ambushes the goons.
Best line in the movie is dredd going …Yeah approvingly after he tosses mawmaw out the window.
The planned sequels were gonna be judge death for number 2 and the scorched earth for number 3. I’m pretty sure someone connected to the movie leaked that.
Nudredds bike is nothing like the comic, atleast stallone dredd actually looks like the comic , when I was a kid I made my own dredd armour out of cardboard and had the soundtrack on cassette tape that I listen to while pretending to be dredd I fricking love the stallone dredd
Shame they destroyed Mega City 2 in Judgement Day, I would have loved to see more of that place.
Anyone interested in reading the movie/movie/comic crossover?

The End. To those discussing the possible Judge Death Urban movie, there was an Urban-world Judge Death comic but I probably won't storytime it as I don't recall it being anything amazing.

Yeah, comic Dredd progresses a year "real time". Since the comics being going on for 40-some years, he's gotten to be an old fart. Plenty of comics about him falling behind because of his age, or undergoing rejuve treatment, such as the time he was interrupted halfway through one and had to kill his would-be assassins without his skin.
>JUDGE DREDD - He witnesses the death of Judge Parker and follows the three responsible Boingers. He traps one on the road and allows another to bounce out over the Cursed Earth. He arrests them both and one of their fathers. >JUDGE PARKER - He is killed by a pair of illegal Boingers. >ARRESTS - Presumably three. We see one of the Boingers arrested by Dredd and sent to a correction block (presumably the other one is as well) and Dredd also arrests one of their fathers for attempting to bribe him. >DEATHS - Fifteen. Judge Parker is squashed by an illegal Boing, five people are knocked out of a hover vehicle at great height and one of the Boingers is electrocuted is what is apparently referred to as terminal Boing®. >BEST LINES - Bridle (as he witnesses a Boinger bouncing out over the Cursed Earth): "I've seen everything now!" >WORST LINES - Parker: "Always knew I'd die...on duty...but not like this...not...an illegal Boing..." >CATCHPHRASES - Dredd says "My Dok!", a Terminal Boinger screams an "Aieee!"
Nope, Parker's dead
>These sentences >Police state >Still manages to be in quasi anarchy and is shown to be a total shithole in comparison to places like Oz or Hondo city
How
>still no sequel >TV show was announced in fricking 2017 >still in development hell, sounds terrible and will probably never get made anyway
Why is this franchise cursed
They're both good. I appreciate the Stallone version because it's campy like early Dredd was but Stallone taking off his helmet is unforgivable. Dredd never shows his face in the comics and it's a running gag that when he does, he's extremely ugly and disfigured and shocks whoever sees his face but his face is never shown. If Stallone kept the helmet on then it would be a good representation of old, campier Dredd. Urban Dredd is a better representation of modern Dredd and Dredd in general.
stallone movie is much better
karl urban looks like the biggest gay ever
This, Stallone has SOUL
Yep. People were cooming over the new version because it has more violence but it was all cgi slomo gore.
>I'm A gayit
Yes you are

audibly kek'd
What a loser
I said what I said

Go back to bed sly.
Yelling I AM DA LAAWW was moron level acting compared to urban growling it over the PA
>Urban looks like the biggest homosexual in that helmet.
At least he actually wears it.

Urban can't even see with that helmet on. The red x thing gets in the way.
Ahahahahahah!!!!
What, you're serious?
Souless zoomer detected
nah

Thats a kino shot tho
I like both of them, but I prefer to rewatch stallone's dredd more than urban's

And for godsakes, never take the helmet off.
Totally agree, I love the megacity and cursed earth of stallone's dredd. But the more serious and dirty take of urbans combined would be fun
Contrarianism needs to be declared a mental illness.

I saw it in 3d at home.
The movie sucks and is ugly to look at.
I can rewatch the stallone movie many times.
I wonder how would Judge Death've been if that's true. Surely he can't be alternate universe demon popping out in that kind of setting
Should've done "America," assuming that a sequel was being made.
Hi Nick
DON'T SHOOT HIM IN THE DICK
IT'S WHAT HE WANTS
Nudredds bike is nothing like the comic, atleast stallone dredd actually looks like the comic , when I was a kid I made my own dredd armour out of cardboard and had the soundtrack on cassette tape that I listen to while pretending to be dredd I fricking love the stallone dredd
Too old.
YOU BETRAYED THE LAW
>LAWWWWWWWW
Rob Schneider ruined Stallone's Dredd. I bet half you gays don't even remember him being in that movie.
I'm willing to bet most of the Stallone Dredd supporters haven't even watched the movie and are just being memeing homosexuals.
RIIIIIICCCCCOOOOOOOO
Hes like 37, not 10 dumbass
lena headey was hot as frick in this as a drugged up cumbawd prostitute.
nah she was ugly all cut up and weak as a character.
nothing like the lovely diane lane
lena headey > diane lane.
god for about one month in 2016 when vaporwave and dredd and trump i actually thought we had half of a chance
lmao
if i were a billionaire i would finance a sequel, hurry up and give me a billion bucks
>shitposting about good movies
that's 10 years in isocubes
What did ma ma's pussy smell like bros?
really gross
Go on
Excellent British sci-fi capeshit.
And I am 38 years old. And despite being highly reviewed by those who met me no one remembers me now. What's your point.
Good representation of the Law Giver.
Shame they destroyed Mega City 2 in Judgement Day, I would have loved to see more of that place.

Damn, Urban looks so puny here. I haven't heard of this comic. Does sound interesting
Here we go.

Comic Dredd's timeline progresses in real time.
Based storytime anon. I didn't even know this was a thing.
Dredd loremasters, what's the deal with sugar?
Sugar is nothing compared to Boinging
w0t le fuq?! Did the Judge Parker live? A spray that gives you an ultimate anti-inertia aura?

It's a kinda niche bong property. I'm amazed any movies got made at all.
All I want is to live in the fake Heavenly Haven. It looks mega comfy
