What does that have to do with anything? Rock Hitlers are the diamonds and the main villain. What is a jerk character gonna do in comparison? I don't get your argument of "they are worse because they are real" when the premise was never about realism at all.

          Anonymous

At the end of the day, it all comes down to projection. People got bullied or harassed by jerks in high school so seeing it in a cartoon triggers that memory all over again.
These same people have probably never read about genocide in depth, let alone know people who have experienced it first hand, so they could care less when fictional characters do it. It's really narcissistic when you think about it.

            Anonymous

I think its creepy just based on the fact of "Well, yeah, genocide is bad, but look at that sexual harasser in the show! That's much more real!".

As if genocide, a mass death event, is less "real" than sexual harassment. Like, holy shit, we're not even talking about rape. Sexual harassment can be as much as unwanted touching, or as little as someone flirting with another person who's just not into it. How is that more "real" than genocide?

Dude, those tyrants are very real, terrorist are very real. Ever met a Holocaust survivor? I have, and those horrors are nothing to scoff at.
I hate how shows and fandoms pretend that jerks are worse than villains because it shows an extremely shallow perspective on life. Supervillains may not be real (yet) and we haven’t encountered any alien tyrants, but there are plenty of irl examples of people causing mass suffering.

It reminds me of the recent convos over the new Stranger Things; how the jerk jock Jason was "too real" for people while Vecna is easier to enjoy because he's fantastical.
b***h Vecna is a serial killer who preys on teenagers. While he may be fantastical, what he does is just as real as being a jerk jock.

Nice trips. And honestly it’s even scarier when you consider how groups like the Manson family formed from similar types of people manipulated by a charismatic leader. Evil and mean, good and nice, the two are not synonymous.
And I still find it funny that people will still call Harley Quinn stupid for following the Joker then immediately start drooling over villains like Shigaraki

Yeah, honestly it kind of suffers by having to use season 1A to establish the backstory. Like once you get to the actual story in 1B onwards you can clearly see that it’s all just setup. After that the story is actually really good and dark in a fun way. One of the more fun parts is Kiki suffering as she keeps getting punished in a way that outweighs her crimes.

And that is why competent show runners first hook the viewers and then feed them exposition. Then at least the viewer is already invested and will only groan about how boring the show became, but keep watching. The way it was done, a lot of people just flaked, me included. Which now feels bad because apparently the show picked up later on.
