This. I like all Bonds except OP pic but they're very much the best ones. What do you think of Dalton? I think he can squeeze in there, those three embodied the role. The others just went off the script.
I remember seeing this post on FB and damn it fits. It made me nearly cry at how fricking miserable the world has gotten and how Bond ended up as a result.
FRICK you, Barbara. You talentless, worthless, mindless nepo baby woman. Desecrating the franchise your father foolishly entrusted to you by giving control to your new wannabe boyfriend which he tanked and ruined just for kicks. Frick you and him, Barbara. I have to admit that Vesper's suicide is a better idea than her drowning in that meaningless sequence.
eva green as vesper was so good. and im not trying to shill the "girl power, slay qween" shit, but i felt like she actually was really well written. her vulnerable moments didnt feel like they were trying to shoehorn something to the audience, and neither for the parts where she stepped up. and it also helps that shes smoking hot, haha
Craig is a great fashion model. They were going for a Steve MaQueen type thing.

But this is ultimately right. Last movie where Bond had a circle of espionage around him--he had villains backstabbing each other while trying to kill him, and he had sub villains that lended him a hand at the last moment because frick it, he's James Bond, baby!
A Bond movie should in a certain sense almost be like an episode of Entourage. We see the gang, it's all good, until it's not, then things hit the shits, but we persevere, and then the villain gets one of several upper hands and things look dire.
But then Bond figure out how to reach the control box with his feet or Ari thinks of a way to restructure Venny's contract, and WE ARE SO BACK BABYYYYYY.
It's interesting to compare that bond to Craig in Royale. Craig ticked all the boxes in that movie except he was dour, and dour doesnt let you play around. He slept with a woman he met on the beach, but the movie treats it as an afterthought, as if you already know the drill here.
And yet that's half of the whole story. Basking in the radiance of your own success. And they cut it out. The movie celebrates masculinity, but only the wreskless elements. It opens with a black and white ode to old war spycraft. It continues with parcour. There is the bond body reveal as he walks on the beach resembling an SAS on holiday. He sleeps with a woman, but we don't show it because this happens all the time. He gets reprimanded by superiors, gets poisoned, stumbling around after what looks like a drunken bender, wins a poker game, wrecks his expensive car chasing the bad guy.
There is danger and the visuals work, but all it does is build up how 'tough' bond is. The biggest problem with the craig movies is bond never shows--his supporting cast 'tells'. Vesper talks about bond having disdain for his suit. His poker table orders his drinks. All bond's friends and associates tell him what he is thinking.
>as if you already know the drill here
i think that was kind of the point with the beach girl, he was using his sexual alure as a means of getting information. that was why his relationship with eva's character felt a little more important, cause they treated it like it was less of an espionage trick and more real. thats why the revelation that she was a double agent is more shocking, too
The truth is that Eva broke into the role and is one of the best in Graig's saga in terms of writing. The character of Olga Kurilenko does not exist just like that of Mónica Bellucci,On the other hand, Lea Seydoux's character is very complicated and takes many turns, although I liked that she is the daughter of that guy in Specter,It means that they gave it continuity
Casino Royale, you NPC, is a dumbed down 00's actioner with a guy in a tuxedo and that's it. It takes the novel, rapes it to oblivion and only keeps some plot points so they won't have to be creative or think. Camp and fun is harder to write than death and misery which I abhor. I love life, tuxs, girls, fun, stunts and sincerity. I abhor death, humilation, subversion and misery.

True but also >butcher the novel's plot with useless nonsense for more action >don't play poker >Felix is not some black gangster >Mads is saved for a role like Blofeld, not a throwaway villain like Le Chiffre >the whole plot makes no sense because they don't need to bankrupt Chiffre to get him to talk >cut out the flirty banter between James and Vesper or make it less gay and like it's written by a woman >cut out Mr. White entirely >cast Henry Cavill as the new, young Bond in this so-called origin story instead of a 40 year old literally who >Chiffre is played by Phillip Seymour Hoffman or someone else >Rene Mathis is played by an actual Frenchman >Don't use the red herring he's a traitor >adapt the novels but with different titles and plots changed, Live and Let Die onward so the reboot/origin story angle is justified, imagine a modern Live and Let die set in an African civil war, Moonraker with the modern space race, Dr. No but changed to China and with those locations, On Her Majesty's rebooted and updated, YOLT with modern Japanese aesthetics and the whole story of book James Bond from beginning to end on film.
If you want a great read on how Pierce could have had Casino Royale be his For Your Eyes only, read this article. It lays out a perfect plot with some more action and not a shitty 3rd act with no rhythm. It uses Mr. White but in a better way.

They used the excuse that Brosnan was too old since Royal was the first Bond novel and Bond 00. I find it a weak e s use since they completely overhauled the book. They could’ve easily thrown out Bond being a new 00. Brosnan with Green would’ve been legendary since Brosnan isn’t gay like Craig

I think part of the issue is the movie wanting to be a reboot yet keep it's continuity. Judi Dench yells at bond like she's known him all her life, yet Casino is this Bond's first film. Yes, it's nice to see the actress again, definitely.
But the biggest issue with Craig Bonds are they turn him into a model first and foremost. Broding, vamping, walking murderously with an smg. The visuals are striking. He's like a knight on a revenge quest through a modernizing old europe.
His coworkers are lifeless though. You get the sense that this Bond is a Bourne type bloodhound. He's a bushido canadian mountie. So his associates are stuck reacting to his actions and painting his character, when the audience should be doing that themselves through his actions.
There is a cringeworthy scene in a later bond where one of bond's supposed old friends is talking with him about a woman and asks if she has 'melted his cold heart'. It's not the dialogue of a friend. It's the dialogue of a guy who has read some Bond books and was tasked with getting the 'new' bond 'over' as is said in the wrestling world: everything bond associates say is strictly bond pomo.
That same friend is later killed and someone else has to mention how cold bond is for throwing his body away. It's fashion week and WWE Promo all the way down. You expect JR and Lawler to yell out, Did you SEE what he DID? after certain scenes because of how it's written.
It's not all bad though. It's kind of cute in Casino when everyone order's Bond's same drink. And in that sense, I do think Craigs Bond's worked. Craig's bond is sort of salked by an image that he can handle but loathes. Craig looks like he feels trapped in the role at times, and so his bond carries that same energy.
These arent old Bond villains. They are the replicants. They are the remixes. Craig is playing a Batman Beyond sort of Bond where we have an idea of the beats and the turns of the villains, but even

even if those villains wear the same motifs on their sleeves, their very action exists only as homage to what came before. This means certain things are elevated, while other things simply wont hold a candle.
Craig's bond is almost a Truman Show bond. He doesn't quite see the strings being pulled on him, but he is tired of feeling their weight. He resents being bond, resents being as effective as he is, resents being as charming as he is. When everyone orders his drink, he makes no move or comment on it--it exists only for him and the audience. Le Chief is upset at the game being stalled, but the audience knows they just saw a 'james bond is cool' moment, and James is living in a world where he is starting to pick up on them himself, forcing him to act out in more physically demanding ways to escape the monotony of his overwhelmingly windsome aura.
Casino Royale's ending is sort of interesting. Here we have Craig, naked, again, this time tied to a chair instead of the seat of a helicopter next to a bond girl in Goldeneye. It's a very old world feeling this scene. Le Chief is getting his hands dirty, there is a makeshift torture device, and only the expertise of the two participants, le chief to administer and bond to resist. It's very 1960s era spycraft.
Even the finale with Bond being saved and allowed to live, perhaps because he is too important to kill, is also very Bond. Fate smiles on him. He is allowed to live because he resisted his torture. While Brosnan outsmarts and outflanks his opponents, his movies reward with multiple moments of celebration. Craigs movies merely tighten the noose. The bloodhounds in it for the long hall.
The biggest issue with Craig's movies is they were not written as a unit. Spectre should have been a larger deal from the beginning and a larger threat. Did Spectre kill Bond's parents? Do they poison water? What do they even do besides build rectangular bases in the middle of nowhere? I dont know!

Anyway, Craig was cool. Different than Brosnan, and his movies were too. Craigs movies sort of veered into Hitman territory, which isn't a bad idea, but they needed more advanced plotting.
There were tons of options to interweave the villains stories and abilities into multiple stories, so that by the time you actually saw them, all the pomp and circumstance around them was warranted. Instead, we get multiple movies where bond is told by some damsel in distress that 'he will come for you', and it happens so frequently that we begin to feel the nightmare Craig is living as he plays Bond. We are stuck in the role with him where things sort of just happen like a ride at universal studios.
I would have brought back henchmen instead of waves of nameless thugs. Batista could have been a modern Jaws, and it could have worked if he had been hinted at in earlier pictures.
Modern films do this thing where they dont want to show something on screen because it might not be taken seriously, but they keep chipping away at what made the original interesting in the first place. In the Nolan Batman Begins, Scarecrow is a fantastic compromise. Scientist, fear toxin, sack mask that's representational, but also literal because of the toxin's effects. But then you have The Dark Knight Rises and Bane is just a buff guy in a mask. No Venom. We're given a sad sack story, where Bruce Wayne gets his back broken and has to make a literal and metaphorical jump to prove his worth, but he already makes that same jump every fricking day when he wakes up every morning and decides not to blow his fricking brains out because he lives in a world where he saw his parents killed and there was nothing he could do about it. Frick Bane.
Craigs movies would have been better if they were written as a cohesive unit. Have multiple things happening in each movie that add to something collectively. Then give Bond some celebration here or there.

every brosnan film is just generic action scenes lol
You have nothing better to do with your life, have you?
casino royale is better than your favorite bond lol
I think Craig has been under scrutiny for a longer time. He isnt my favourite Bond but the way they fricked around with the last two movies really is annoying. Probably would have liked him more if they could just make a normal Bond adventure with him.
Brosnan is not Reddit, he's too masculine. Craig is a feminized cuck hence why he's the mascot of that godforsaken subbreddit and other shit Bond forums.
Damn straight. I just think you don't like Bond or what that character even is but only here to pick a fight because you have some nostalgia attached to Craig. The guy publicly states his disdain and only did it because Barbara gave him the money. Not much there to hate, everyone would do it but he's also an idealog about it and calls the character and creators who made the role he's rich off of le sexist and le racist. He's also a massive poof to boost.
Sean Connery - Shtereotypical Bond
George Lazenby - that one Bond
Roger Moore - The Blond Bond
Timothy Dalton - Darker and Grittier Bond
Pierce Brosnan - Heartthrob Bond
Daniel Craig - Fake Bond

nope. craig is not a bond. never watched one of this flicks and never will
The real problem I had with his Bond movies was that they blurred together with Mission Impossible and Bourne Identity stuff. Bond movies lost their unique identity. Often Bond was just the generic "Action Man".
My favourite Bond actor is Brosnan, but my Favourite Bond movie is Casino Royale (2006) I like how dark it is, how brutal. Craig nailed it in this one.
basically this, with a close runner-up being Skyfall. Spectre and the second one sucked ass.
I think there are too many millenials itt trying to pretend Brosnan is the definitive bond. Yeah, sure, he was because when you were growing up and reliably enjoying new movie he was the only bond.
Quantum had an interesting premise, but didn't take it in an interesting direction. The idea of an organization with agents everywhere that MI6 knows nothing about, and Bond having to uncover their conspiracy and their plans is a great pitch and you could have easily filled two and a half hours of tight-paced action, thrilling scenes of Bond chasing down leads, never knowing who to trust, like the fricking Hydra plot in Winter Soldier.
Instead it completely loses the plot and ends up in this meandering story about water rights and the CIA manipulating South American governments, filled with boring dialogue and schizophrenic editing in all the action scenes that make its 1 hr 45 min runtime (literally the shortest Bond film in the franchise) feel like a three hour slog.
He is.
No, THIS is.
For me there's James Bond Sr. (Sean Connery) and his son James Bond Jr. (Pierce Brosnan) who followed in his footsteps. No-one else is James Bond.
This. I like all Bonds except OP pic but they're very much the best ones. What do you think of Dalton? I think he can squeeze in there, those three embodied the role. The others just went off the script.

Why is this board suddenly shitting on Daniel Graig every chance it gets? I don't understand. I thought he was one of Cinemaphile's favorite Bonds
What the hell did you get that impression? Pierce is Cinemaphile's Bond with Dalton a second or equal.
The Bond of Cinemaphile is Sean Connery followed by Daniel Graig
>followed by Daniel Craig
Lol lmao even. The fact you gave no reasoning. The most prevalent Bond here is Pierce or Dalton. They're the most revered.

>tfw the director told her to get on with it when she's done nudity before in unknown movies nobody cares and won't agree for the role of her life
>Craig boycotts it because he's a poofer
Whether you like his '''Bond''' (sigh) you can admit he should be killed for that alone.
>00's actioner with a guy i
every brosnan film is just generic action scenes lol
casino royale is better than your favorite bond lol
even if true craig still isnt bond. he can play a spy but not 007
It’s literally just some autist spamming
Coping. Tons of anons, real Bond fans I add, agree with me.
>tons anons
>you gotta believe me bro
Gay for graig.
I think Craig has been under scrutiny for a longer time. He isnt my favourite Bond but the way they fricked around with the last two movies really is annoying. Probably would have liked him more if they could just make a normal Bond adventure with him.
this was settled not too long ago (though ill say i think connery should get more credit around here)
>those digits
That and this settle once and for all Pierce Brosnan is the best James Bond of all time.

Brosnan is not Reddit, he's too masculine. Craig is a feminized cuck hence why he's the mascot of that godforsaken subbreddit and other shit Bond forums.
nope. craig is not a bond. never watched one of this flicks and never will
>nope. craig is not a bond. never watched one of this flicks and never will
Because Cinemaphile is and always has been nothing but contrarian homosexuals
what's so contrarian about hating craig?

Pierce Brosnan's Bond Girls Are Very Forgettable Except for Halley Berry
>not Xenia

You are terminally moronic and gay.
true she will be remembered as the worst bond girl
Sean Connery is the real 007 and always will be.
*Roger Moore
fricking pleb.
you're all wrong.

Sigh. Unzip.

is this your post lol
Damn straight. I just think you don't like Bond or what that character even is but only here to pick a fight because you have some nostalgia attached to Craig. The guy publicly states his disdain and only did it because Barbara gave him the money. Not much there to hate, everyone would do it but he's also an idealog about it and calls the character and creators who made the role he's rich off of le sexist and le racist. He's also a massive poof to boost.
tourist lol
Great comeback. Defend a guy who said he'd rather slit his wrists than play the role again and shows nothing but contempt for it.
Timmy D was based just for the audacity of dating her.
Sean Connery - Shtereotypical Bond
George Lazenby - that one Bond
Roger Moore - The Blond Bond
Timothy Dalton - Darker and Grittier Bond
Pierce Brosnan - Heartthrob Bond
Daniel Craig - Fake Bond
>put the fricking ugly frick in the center instead of Sean.
Barbara just won't let fricking go. FRICK YOU.
u so mad lol
why would i. im just ignoring this franchise until they get into shape if ever
He should thank Tom Ford.

Sean Connery’a favorite btw. So your contrarian bullshit is all the more laughable.
No he wasn’t. Connory said Brosnan was great at Bond. All Connory said about Craig was defend him against people that thought he was too ugly for Bond
>le brooding sioppy feminist woke c**t
I hate his Bond films
>feminism bad
t. pussy free incel
He also implies that Bond is gay. Typical Paki loving Scouser

casino royale is better than your favorite bond lol
i would have watched it if it had been billed as a regular spy movie but this way it's too distracting. this guy isnt bond just an impostor.
Craig just kinda has a villain face.
Also, what is this meme about Craig not being handsome? Women were fricking dripping wet for him long before he was Bond.
Is Graig really a handsome man?
It's a truncated mess, but I've always had a soft spot for it.
he looks like a russian spook working for westoid glowies
The only people that think he is ugly are chuds on here.
Craig looks like a Bond villain. Main bad guy's no 1 henchman.
