This movie is uniroincally worse than Generations. I've never seen anything with this many obvious plot holes before. Almost nothing makes any fricking sense at all in it. Feels like they just wrote a bunch of random epic action movie scenes and stitched them together to make a "movie".
Yeah, it's pretty sweet.
All the TNG movies are awful.
frick off dick
not true. First two are good. Third is almost okay (feels like a long episode of the show) and only the fourth is really awful and unwatchable.
Generations and Nemesis are unwatchable. Insurrection is bad. First Contact is ok.
All four TNG movies are worse than the worst two TOS movies, TMP and TFF.
>the worst two TOS movies, TMP and TFF.
TMP is the best trek movie by miles.
That atrocious movie with the wanna be 2001 space odyssey shots of the ship and weird planets slowly zooming in for literally 4 fricking minutes every scene change?
Yeah it's horrible. TMP is horrible.
Speaking of, the next film I'm reaching in my own watchthrough is The Final Frontier
Just how bad is it, exactly?
Not that bad at all actually. Star Trek with Nimoy, Shatner and Bones has a baseline level of soul which makes it tolerable no matter what.
>shitner
>souv
Pick one dude.
Worse than daytime soap operas that get camcelled cuz the lead actor sucks so bad.
Well TMP had all three as well but I found that awful, largely because they didn't use that main trio well at all
>Nemesis is bad
You're just as much of a homosexual as OP.
What's bad about it? I literally can't think of anything other than the shiner moment at the very end with (clone) Data that people might not have wanted.
>What's bad about it?
it's literally unwatchable
>Interesting set up main plot scene
>Comfy as frick opening main cast scene
>most interesting plot device (data origins) plot mover
>kino picard clone reveal as thematically same as data.
>kino scenes of confronting your worst possible self with the picards
>data finally understanding humanity as he self sacrifices to save his friends.
It's fricking kino and you'll never convince me otherwise.
nemesis is dogshit
It's comfy and great
You're a homosexual plebe
the score is the only good part
>he likes Black person shit music with soulless electronic drums and generic bullshit.
God damn I feel sorry for zoomers.
Frick off dude, seriously. The the art world is gonna end because you have no music that isn't AI produced.
GOD HELP YOU(and I'm a frickin atheist)
Hope you can learn to appreciate actual music later in life.
Imagine being unable to appreciate Jerry fricking Goldsmith
Holy frick you're moronic.
Do sum fricking research. Dude you are actually making me go drink another beer you're so fricking moronic and I want to forget your post.
Remember my post drukhomosexual
>he thinks Jerry goldsmith was even alive when the movie came out or was being made.
Kek
Kek
>>he thinks Jerry goldsmith was even alive when the movie came out or was being made.
>Kek
Jerry Goldsmith was born in 1929 and died in 2004.
name a single plot hole
If the borg can time travel why didn't they just enslave the human race in the middle ages or something. If the goal was to stop first contact theres thousands of easier ways they could have done it.
Time travel doesn't have unlimited "range" through history. A couple hundred years is the furthest they could go
>Time travel doesn't have unlimited "range" through history. A couple hundred years is the furthest they could go
Nice headcanon homosexual.
Why not go back a few months prior and use their advanced technology to take over then?
Their more tech advanced than the vulkans or humans of that time
this got reteconned by events in Stark Trek Enterpise
the borg basically skynetted themselves and had to leave behind the future borg to make contact with their past / present selves by the time they first contact the federation in tng
i remember some asshat writer jerking themselves off saying something like "see? it gives the title First Contact even deeper meanings when you rewatch it"
i cant remember who though and i wish i did so i can hate them properly but ah well
*star not freaking stark
Did they tag team e-girl-keiko?
theoretically... anything is possible in alternate realities.
even the most extreme seemingly improbable almost impossible events and outcomes become a certainty to have happened if you were able to view enough alternate realities
>why do the borg all of a sudden have time travel technology that they only decide to use as a last resort when they're about to be defeated
>why does nobody care about fricking up the timeline by sending the entire crew of the enterprise down to earth and openly telling everyone about the future
>why did they show worf's space suit depressurizing and then never mention it again
>why do the borg act like incompetent morons throughout the movie
>why does the borg queen have the emotion of a human woman on her period
>how did all the escape pods get back to the ship
>how does the moon prevent the vulcans from detecting the enterprise
>why does the enterprise suddenly have time travel technology to go back to their own time at the end of the movie
>>why do the borg all of a sudden have time travel technology that they only decide to use as a last resort when they're about to be defeated
maybe they didn't have time travel technology until they spent lots of time to develop it because they were about to be defeated (a la Skynet).
>>why does nobody care about fricking up the timeline by sending the entire crew of the enterprise down to earth and openly telling everyone about the future
They do care, they only told Cochrane about the future because he wasn't going to help otherwise.
>>why did they show worf's space suit depressurizing and then never mention it again
He literally fixed his suit by tying a borg wire around it. Watch the movie.
>>why do the borg act like incompetent morons throughout the movie
Examples please
>>why does the borg queen have the emotion of a human woman on her period
The idea of the borg queen admittedly was a little silly, the borg are supposed to be collective. But this is not a "plot hole"
>>how did all the escape pods get back to the ship
They didn't need to? The enterprise could just beam everyone back up.
>>how does the moon prevent the vulcans from detecting the enterprise
Typical scifi mumbo jumbo, but who says the moon's magnetic field (or whatever) couldn't disrupt sensors? Not a "plot hole"
>>why does the enterprise suddenly have time travel technology to go back to their own time at the end of the movie
They developed it based on sensor readings from the Borg time-traveling ship
I think you're confusing "plot holes" with general Star Trek "the technology works this way because it has to for the plot to work". This is not unique to First Contact at all. Remember how in the TOS movies, you could apparently just fly around the sun to go back in time? And that was never mentioned again
It's easily the best start trek movie.
>time traveling
This trope is never gonna work.
Except time travel worked great in IV, one of the best movies ever made.
The main musical theme is top 5 greatest movie musical pieces of all time. Absolutely gorgeous.
It's literally just the TNG theme song.
You're so moronic it hurts others that know you.
>I've never seen anything with this many obvious plot holes before
Let's see you list 5.
1. Zefram Cochrane is from Alpha Centauri.
2. Zefram Cochrane is from Alpha Centauri.
3. Zefram Cochrane is from Alpha Centauri.
4. Zefram Cochrane is from Alpha Centauri.
5. Zefram Cochrane is from Alpha Centauri.
>The inventor of the Human Warp Drive was from world you couldn't reach without warp speed!
>Alpha Centauri is 4-6 light years away
>Earth develops the impulse drive, which can achieve half the speed of light
>Gets to Alpha Centauri in 8-12 years
One of my favourite Star Trek films. Haters can suck it.
kino.
>Mike Stoklasa does all my thinking for me
The biggest sin of this movie is that it cemented the idea of action hero picard. Otherwise it's ok for what it is. But it really should have been the only tng "action" movie.
I've come to grow quite fond of Generations, but First Contact is better.
Generations biggest issue is the last act. Which iirc wasn't written by the original script writer who got too busy working on TNG's final season to properly finish it.
did he ever go back and write a revised script then?
It's definitely rushed and gives Kirk a pretty anticlimatic farewell.
I liked the prisoner exchange with geordie and they capture their shield harmonics.
I liked picard on the planet annoying the antagonist.
i liked the antagonists motive, wanting a better life for himself.
I liked him getting help from Kirk.
I didn't like Kirk wanting to stay in the ribbon.
I didn't like how one man's ribbon wish could take away a different man's ribbon wish.
Or was he still in his ribbon while picard's wish was a different universe?
That's about all that was wrong with the final act.
The TNG movie ranking is:
First Contact
Generations
Insurrection
Nemesis
Nah, you can frick off. It's easily one of the best ST movies.
Amazingly, it still holds up today.
For me, it's the USS Defiant.
Giga based. The first contact borg battle was so kino and my favorite Trek space battle at the time.
It sucked to be that Starfleet ship that got caught in the cube's explosion, though. Bummer.
Its Die Hard on a spaceship, I love it
STV Future's End is quite good
it was the coolest when i saw it in theaters when i was 11
years of trek nerds getting to be kick ass for a movie and seeing the borg technologically advance with the nano drones was amazing
cochran being a jerk was great
geordis eyes
drunk troi
picard calling worf a coward
blow up the damn ship!
>nooooooooooo
you're looking at this now and not 30 years after with 30 years of garbage lore and story after it
at the moment it was incredible

99999) Star Trek: Into Darkness
why do you like Star Trek: Beyond more than the other Abrams Trek trash?q
Not him but it feels like more of a sci-fi tale and less of a shitty action mention with lasers, in comparison to the first two. Also hot alien babe
why not just beam/transport a couple individual drones to some backwater village, assimilate everyone there, repeat
