For me, its TNG, the second best series. TOS is first. what do you think anons?

I agree with you. In fact, I refuse to watch post-Roddenberry Trek which to me is non-canon.
So there is just:
>TOS
>TNG
and their respective movie series and that's it. That is Star Trek to me and I'm happy with it.
Personally, ive watched up to enterprise (it sucked) ds9 had its moments, but voy was just shlock.
Yeah man makes perfect sense.
Pound for pound, DS9 is a better quality show. Higher voltage, smarter, told an effective war story that didn't just get wrapped up at the end of the two-part episode. Went really *really* outside the box a few times.
TNG wins on nostalgia, especially as it was more childlike and a lot of us were watching it as children. But there's so much of it, and the shitty movies
>the shitty movies
which ones do you dislike? i refuse to believe you think they're all bad, First Contact for instance isn't just good ST it's a great movie.
First contact was the only one I wanted to watch again the rest of them were basically straight-to-video pieces of shit coasting on their brand
you didn't like Generations? Picard and Kirk teaming up was excellent fanservice, and the ship actually gets blown the frick up
Not them, but Star Trek: Generations is one of those films that gets better and better with each viewing and I'm not quite sure why.
Its because its actually a shitty movie in terms of its contrived plot to bring the captains together. BUT its kino to see the actors and fan service
>contrived plot
what a midwit expression, all plots are contrived.
Some plots are more contrived than others. The amount of hand waving scifi magic to get the two captains together with the clockwork orange dude was significantly more contrived than your average plot
Generations could have been SO much better with a little plot tweaking.
>Movie bad because I made a non-sequitur about another role an actor played!
Maybe Sci-Fi isn't for you.
I’ve read and watched more scifi than you.
>contrived plot
>in star trek
huehuehueh
The last season of ds9 puts it below tng, they shat the bed with dukat.
The dukat storyline staggered, but the shit where he becomes Bajoran and porks Nurse Ratched was a wild ride and I liked it.
What you're really saying here is that the shows are equal in quality because you'd have to be a moron to say that Dukat's one-tenth of the screen time in season 9 made a huge difference.
>Ehh...no. Too claustrophobic
Stop projecting your various psychological and developmental problems on the rest of the world
>Yes it had good special effects, but
Special effects? On a literal broadcast tv show from 112 years ago? Puddinghead
>Stop projecting your various psychological and developmental problems on the rest of the world
Holy reverse projection, Batman!
Dude, the show looks cheap as frick for the inside shots because it is. The money got spent on the actor and the CGI and models, straight up.
>Special effects? On a literal broadcast tv show from 112 years ago? Puddinghead
Oh you were just trolling. Awesome.
Yeah sorry man like we're both sitting here watching a show and sometimes it tells really compelling stories about how human moral quandaries would remain even if we become incredibly advanced,
and you're scoring it down because the sets from 1992 look cardboardy, and the people are just faceless slabs of clay having emotional experiences you can't empathize with because you literally IRL have shit-for-brains syndrome.
Just me trolling, I guess
>sometimes it tells really compelling stories about how human moral quandaries would remain even if we become incredibly advanced,
I accept that. I also accept that it's done in the way to create maximum boredom, for me.
>and you're scoring it down because the sets from 1992 look cardboardy
No, I'd not mention it if it weren't so boring-to me.
yeah whether or not it made you feel like you were being stuffed with cookies is the real question
when the medical professional stood in front of you and diagnosed you with gunk-brain and said that you would never be able to partake in the world the same way as healthy, normal human beings, they meant that you should start making plans to have a nice day.
It's no big surprise that you didn't catch the true meaning of their words, so I'm spelling it out for you.
ok hope this helps
So you're just project onto the Internet because you're miserable and cannot fathom that I was trying to discuss a television show in good faith.
lol
lmao even
whats ur favorite star trek?
Care to be more specific?
whats ur favorite star trek?
Oh oh, well in that case, here's my idea of top two movies:
>The Voyage Home (the best film to me)
>The Wrath of Khan
nice, i love wrath of khan.
>Pound for pound, DS9 is a better quality show.
Ehh...no. Too claustrophobic, as in, those sets look like cramped sets, making even the more laughable TOS sets look cavernous. Yes it had good special effects, but feels a definite step down from TNG-quality.
Not to say that I think TNG was perfect, heck I think they even fricked up at least one of their movies that could have been far greater (Insurrection).
Nothing more to add.
i got into ST with TNG, most episodes are fantastic. TOS is unwatchable, the second best series is actually DS9, due to it actually doing something more unique and not retreading old ground, i also appreciation the tie-ins, none of the other series can compete.
oh, youre transgender?
I don't fault anyone for what they watch concerning Trek, I mean, it's science fiction afterall, but after trying several times to start and like Deep Space Nine, I just can't and fully believe that it's simply not made for people like me and that it's impossible for me to like any of it.
Saw one episode of Voyager that was cool, you know the one.
idk maybe, i like how they sit in the station doing their thing and other cultures pass through, it's like a never ending Star Wars cantina scene
Have you tried using an episode guide skipping ahead? The first season is pretty mediocre, similar to many other shows. It really starts to hit its stride in late S2 and S3 and get better from there. There's also Babylon 5
I'm willing to watch a top 5 episode, maybe.
>Babylon 5
Hasn't grabbed me yet, not sure if it can. I didi finally get into Stargate sort of, so it's not like I don't try new samey stuff.
>DSN is the best
>here's an episode skipping guide
I didn't say it was the best. And almost all scifi has shitty first seasons that are difficult to get into. Plus episodic shows can have some real stinkers and there's no point to watch them unless you want to be thorough
Don't act like you look forward to watching Code of Honor or Shades of Grey
To be fair, even TNG has a few shitty episodes.
Off the top of my head, here's the two worst TNG episode I can think of:
>the one where an alien woman/man thing is in the place of the current day's talk about gays and lesbians. Hamfisted. Felt embarrassed watchintgit. Never watched it since.
and then:
>the ice energy planet destroying murdering thing is finally killed, then Picard and crew treat their savior like a c**t and even set her up for arrest and prosecution because MUH INTELLIGENT LIFE
God that was bad. And I know there's been others. Looking at you, Wil Wheaton.
>To be fair, even TNG has a few shitty episodes.
even the worst TNG episode (the cultures that depend on one another for drugs and exploitation of labor) is philosophical and thought provoking
absolutely no, almost 1/3 of TNG episodes are complete slop with no redeeming qualities the rest is entertaining, philosophical and thought provoking? maybe a dozen episodes, maybe.
a fricking third?! no way dude, maybe the original series but not TNG, there's hardly very many bad episodes at all
yeah that was harsh... I was mainly referring to the first 2 seasons which I really do not enjoy
idk bro, that pilot is something else
i like how it's not spaceships and laser pistols
right out of the gate it's entities that exist beyond human conception of time
yowza!
and shortly in they have a crazy The Thing episode where they take on the leaders and the ear worm, and they EXPLODE the body with their phasers and it's grotesque as can be
Agreed. Can't say any episode is total shit, even the ones I singled out.
No.
>TOS is unwatchable
Peak pleb.
For me it's TAS.
Tool Assisted Speeedrun Trek wasn't supervised by Gene methinks.
DS9 for the characters and writing, TNG, especially early TNG, for the pure Roddenberry kino
I don’t like TOS. ENT is comfy. For me its
TNG>DS9>ENT>VOY>>>>TOS>>>>>
pozzed shit
DS9 is easily the best by a mile
TOS, TNG, VOY - i rate those similarly. Good kino shows.
TAS - okay in a scoobydooesque way.
other shows are not trek.
>TAS - okay in a scoobydooesque way.
It just dawned on me that "TAS" means The animated series.
Shit, I used to watch that on Nickelodeon back in the early to mid-80s and eat peanut butter, banana, and honey sandwiches with a glass of milk and be in heaven. It's as good as the original live action show if not better.
DS9 is much better when binged. TNG has a lot more episodes you can just pick out and watch. Personally I think DS9 is the much better show, but I find myself watching the odd episode of TNG much more than watching the odd episode of DS9.
ds9 > shit = the rest
For me, it's Voyager.
ENT is good and I’m sick of people pretending its not.
it sucks dude, including the gay ass opening. but its better than any nutrek by miles
Its just a comfy show about bros in space without all the homosexual starfleet rules and knowledge.
I don’t use that board. People are capable of forming their own opinions.
Ok I basically am this anon but I am forced to admit that Strange New Worlds, by itself, is at least tied with ENT quality-wise
I am not proud of this but it's a nutrek show that hasn't taken a huge shit on itself yet.
nice! nu trek shills have arrived!
nu trek sucks balls. Expect SNW was watchable. Still haven't seen STD or Picard. Nor do I want to.
>ENT is good
/misc/ meme
only redditors complain about /misc/
There is no comparison. DS9 is literally boomers trying to make a show that isn't Star Trek because they're bored with Star Trek which led to people who don't even like Star Trek trying to make non-Star Trek.
Babylon 5
Putting my vote in for DS9
TNG. All other Trek shows wish it could be as good and popular.
DS9.
Picard ruined TNG, now picard is a delusional weirdo the whole time he captains the flagship of the federation. Sisko is black and STILL they won't touch avery brooks after his anti-israelite rants.
Frick these gay retcons
I tried with that fricking trek cartoon show and it was unbelievably bad. It was like a migraine headache. Like, at any given moment, one of the characters will yell what they are doing to the other characters. They go "If I open this door, we will get sucked out into space!!!" and then they yell "I am nervous because I'm so high-strung and geeky!"
The whole show makes you feel like somebody is banging pots and pants together, especially in the dumbass samurai jack action setpieces.
The dude that wrote it is Mr. Pickle Rick himself, and he's already shitting out some other pickle rick sci fi cartoon show.
Wonder if it's going to be low-effort and high-autism????
The delivery is too rushed, like they're not confident in the jokes so they have to fill the episode with three times as many, similar to the nu-MST3K episodes. Post-woke Hollywood cannot produce good comedy.
TNG is sci-fi, DS9 is space-politics. Both good at what they do.
I guess we all agree that the best series is the one with the most cookie time. It's unanimous
I love TNG and DS9 equally. They complement each other perfectly.
The measure of a man is when it starts to get good
>starts to get good
This isn't serialshit, anon. These are episodic stories that "get good" on a season by season basis, not episodes.
Both have good and bad points
TNG had two great waifus but this in particular really sold it for me as to who was the best captain since you know pic related is what he's thinking
DS9>TNG>VGR>ENG>NuTrek>Galaxy Quest>Doing the dishes for the hoarder next door >TOS>TOSTAS
What about enterprise?
Tng>Tos
