how do you frick up a conspiracy from the ranks so badly? half of the reveals in the finale had me worried i'd suffered a stroke at the same time every week and completely blanked out entire episodes from my memory.
It doesn't make any sense. If they're prokaryotes they could easily replicate them in the lab, even with a small sample, since the replication is exponential. I know adhering to scientific stuff is not generally a strong point for TV shows but this is some basic stuff. Bacteria aren't like ore where you constantly need to be digging for more.
It makes even less sense to pollute the pristine ice containing million years old microorganism.
Not to mention the baffling need to thaw the ice when you're sampling it with a drill and storing it frozen in the freezers
The could get rid of the mine completely and still run with more or less the same premise
