I think that one of the problems is that we still don't really understand her nature. Did Betty "take over" Golb and his role? Are they two beings in one body now? Has Betty been mostly assimilated into Golb?
The only thing we know for sure it's that it's not the later, as "she" only reacted for Simon. Turning the Lich into a tetromino is hard to tell if that's just the "natural order" for the Lich in the timelines he succeed, if he just annoyed her, or if it was also to protect Simon who was nearby, (I lean towards the first option, as Scarab was deal in a different, and not as effective way). For the rest, one can argue there was some actual despair in her eyes when Simon was about to put the crown back on, and all her actions to protect him and aid him afterwards. Though there is an argument to be made that these actions were just the effect of the wish she made to the crown, leaving just that astral goodby they had with each other as any real proof of Betty still having some sort of self awareness. That, and whatever happened to her and Golb after Simon left, which as anything with Golb, we have no way to know whatever it was natural or not (or if the Buss with destiny to "Comet" is meant to have any meaning)
We could be looking at Betty and Glob becoming a new being with what/who we saw flexing on the Litch king being the first stage of a transformation. A being that has Betty's emotions and kindness as well as Glob's cosmic powers.
