Do I have a shit memory or when did the Lich become all about Golb?
End of AT he revealed he was doing it for GOLB all along
Wasn't he supposed to be the cosmic embodiment of death and entropy or some shit? When did he become just a random sorcerer?
When the writers forgot.
i remember when he was only an atomic bomb
No, thats literally fanon
I dropped out of the show before wall this shit, how did he change back from being a possessed baby?
He didn't. When the Lich first made his wish to Prismo to exterminate all life, Prismo granted it, and sent him to live in the world he created. Finn then made a wish that the Lich never existed. Granting this wish would result in a time paradox, so Prismo created an alternate reality to fulfill that wish, and sent Finn to live in that world. Jake then made a wish to change the Lich's wish to be send Finn and Jake home. Like Finn's wish, granting this would result in a time paradox, so Prismo created an alternate Ooo, Finn, and Lich to fulfill it, and sent Jake there.
This Lich is the original Lich, still wearing Billy's skin. The alternate Lich was purified and reborn as a giant baby. Finally, the Lich in the Farmworld universe that Finn created was defeated, then came back multiple times. Part of him was severed off and dumped into the multiverse, and tried to both control the giant baby and Death himself.
Wait so if The Lich just went to a seperate universe where he won, then why the frick did Finn and Jake bother "stopping him" by getting wishes that ultimately made things worse? Couldn't they just head back to their original universe and call it quits from there since The Lich is no longer a problem?
It seems like not all wishes create a new universe or something like that. Otherwise, Finn and Jake would look stupid for making unnecessary wishes.
Because they didn't know that. they showed up after the Lich made his wish, asked Prismo what his wish was and Finn instantly try to stop the Lich with his wish. Prismo only later told Jake that there always some ironic twist when he grant wishes.
He didn't go to a separate universe. His wish wouldn't cause a time paradox, so it affected the regular Ooo. Finn and Jake's wishes would cause time paradoxes, so their wishes created separate universes.
Prismo didn't create an alternate Ooo he just rewinded time in his time room
>literally admits to never watching eps beyond season 3
>asks obvious questions
>is unhappy with answers
>"wtf their ruining my show that I didn't watch for ages"
>"it's not like my heckin' superior animu, tbh tbh fr fr"
>"What do you mean FMA took from western Hermeticism and share the same source material? What is Gnosticism?"
Tourists from Cinemaphile really do be like this.
who are you actually quoting
Bro I never watched anything previously to Fionna and Cake. I'm just throwing darts in the dark and see if anything sticks xD
moronic and makes him a much worse villain. They can't stop ruining everything they touch.
He literally says he is GOLBS last ____ in his fall speech
Go look it up moron
Sounds like a shifty knockoff
Basically this. Everyone is calling this bullshit and generally it's not. It's actually pretty poetic in a lot of ways. Thing is it's been done before. Better.
I think Bill Cipher was more of a shitty knockoff of Father.
And also a shitty knockoff of Bob from Twink Peaks.
Been a while since I watched FMA but didn't he just want to be super powerful?
He wanted to obtain absolute freedom from the laws of the universe or the truth and to possess the power of creation.
Not really Lich-like as anon said then
From what I gathered: he claimed he wanted to be omniscience, when he truly desired omnipotence. He's an hypocrite, in of itself. I like to believe he did achieved the former thanks to Edward, only to be completely and utterly consumed by Truth itself; which is poetic since he got unlimited knowledge at the cost of his own individual freedom.
He literally wanted to absorb and become God as that was his misconstrued conception of ultimate freedom
Does FMAB pick up latter on? Dropped it near half way thru last time when i tried to watch it
very nice. i wonder if anyone here watched distant lands
he made the worshipers folly
he never understood his god. he just crafted his god in his own image.
What is it with white people always obsessing over the idea of cuckoldry?
The lich had a hard life
After so many cartoons that were resurrected and ruined time and time again, I think people should learn to be careful what they wish for. Sometimes, dead is better. Let the past stay in the past. Let's start making new things.
>wastes his entire life
Anon....You're the lich
The Lich was a bit of a moron in hindsight
Golb is the good of chaos, the Lich killing all life funnily enough to creates an eternal peace
As another anon stated from
his last prayer originates from Orphism, right down to how he prostrates himself in prayer.
Lich ver:
>"You scattered the dark mist that lay before your eyes and, flapping your wings, you whirled about, and throughout this world you brought pure light."
Original prayer:
>You scattered the dark mist that lay before your eyes and, flapping your wings, you whirled about, and throughout this world you brought pure light. For this I call you Phanes, I call you Lord Priapos, I call you sparkling with bright eyes.
While I agree that more episodes were needed to drive home this revelation, you can't argue the writers were lazy with their research and reveal of new character motivations. This is a creation god mythos rarely done or even hinted at on mainstream television.
that's alot to take here
Adding some pretentious ancient prayer doesn't make this sudden retcon any better.
Nah, AT was always greenpilled anon. Sorry you don't like it because it isn't your typical goyslop.
>wow bro i added in this SoOoPER crazy gnostic ancient prayer stuff!!!! Isn't it so deep!!!!!
A garbage story doesn't stop being garbage if you dress it up in occultism.
it was always a great show about heroism in the face of tragedy and the unknown. Referential material like Epictetus' Encheiridion was always there since season 1. It was an irl manual for stoics converted to a hero's handbook with plenty of esoteric texts in the show. It's okay if you like goyslop but don't be disingenuous about it.
I think it was one of the anniversary books sold to collectors.
>it was always a great show about heroism in the face of tragedy and the unknown
>about heroism
Did you stop watching at season 3 or something?
> It was an irl manual for stoics converted to a hero's handbook with plenty of esoteric texts in the show.
Again, no, you're just a pretentious midwit who thinks talking about 'le occultism' and 'le greek stoic [random obscure philosophy of the week]' makes you some kind of deep thinker when in reality your 'esotericism' is about as deep as a puddle.
You're like the Cinemaphile version of those wannabe Hollywood 'buddhists'.
>season 3 or something
No, did you?
>le greek stoic [random obscure philosophy of the week]'
So you don't deny that it was intentionally lifted from an irl work of philosophy going as far back as S1. Which goes back to what I originally stated, that this type of stuff was always embedded in AT. Great, good we had this chat anon.
>tell me you don't watch the show without actually telling me.
>No, did you?
I wish i did.
>So you don't deny that it was intentionally lifted from an irl work of philosophy going as far back as S1
No, you're just trying to spout superficial dressing to make yourself sound 'deep' and 'philosophical'. You are neither, and this show is about as 'philosophical' and 'esoteric' as a chocolate bar is a salad.
>gnostic ancient prayer stuff
are you acting like a moron on purpose?
Correct
What book is that?
It’s a very intentional action too. Like this dude thought he was going to please the God of chaos and disorder by following a PLAN to bring the world into a fixed state (dead)
> expecting the god of chaos to do what you want
lol, he deserved what he got.
So an azathoth cultist, we already had that.
Why not just let him say
>You know what, frick you
>Imma do my own thing
with the exaggerated swagger of a mutagenic bomb spawn.
Tbh I was hoping he would kill the scarab guy in order to use his powers to essentially to become a larger threat across the multiverse by wiping the other universes that fiona and cake has visited. Whilst also absorbing the other versions of himself to obtain their powers to bring more chaos and death
>picrel doodle of the idea
We were denied kino.
I mean, I understand him hitting a brick wall. He essentially fulfilled the purpose he spent his entire existance working towards, and now he has frick-all to do.
If he gained access to the multiverse, what would he even do? Keep killing more? That would be impossible to take seriously. He would essentially be chipping away at an infinite wall and it would be obvious. Trying to make him a multi-cosmic threat would be stupid escalation as well. The Lich just reached the logical conclusion of existing in a multiverse- he cannot possibly do what he wants to do. His divinely ordained purpose amounts to nothing, and the force he worships is the blind idiot Azathoth-y GOLB. I found it all satisfactory and I'm happy with how everything ran.
That's what happens when you are a nihilistic chaosgay
Can you imagine devoting your entire life to a religion, only to meet your god in the afterlife and realize you misunderstood them completely and wasted all that effort on nothing?
>Can you imagine devoting your entire life to a religion, only to meet your god in the afterlife and realize you misunderstood them completely and wasted all that effort on nothing?
Yes, it’s the fate of everyone who believes in God but isn’t Presbyterian.
you cant mess up if you dont name them
lich fricked up by being a moron orphic (pseudo Pythagorean)
the Milesian, Delphic, ptoons, etc... all knew to say only "the unnamed one" or stick to personifications like "chaos" lich is a moron phythagorean who things he understands geometry and shit so he fricks that up
Why'd they frick up his design?
This is what he's supposed to look like.
Why does he have a wiener drawing on his crown
He wanted a place to belong, a purpose, and he found it. Next time don't do chaos.
