Oh. I see. Silence of Lambs is 2, not 1. I wasn't thinking chronological order, I was thinking: Silence, Hannibal, Red Dragon. Not Manhunter, Silence, Hannibal.
honestly, none. 1st is always the best.
LOTR, BTTF, even Star Wars OT
even movies with more than 3 entries... Alien, Terminator, Indiana Jones. 1st is always best.
It's a strange feeling. Star Wars feels like it begins and ends and has nowhere to go, but then Empire gets made. Empire is better in every regard from pacing, visuals, editing, performances, etc... but it has no real ending, because it's a conceptually retrofitted interquel. So it just kinda ends, and relies on the embarrassing sequel. So yeah, I guess Star Wars is the better movie, but Empire is more interesting to watch. I blame George for making Star Wars with the assumption that no sequels would be made, although wasn't there some original edit or screenplay where it essentially didn't have an ending and lead into a sequel, same as Empire? So maybe it was the studio. I don't know. Seems like a rock and a hard place for all parties involved.
Alls I know is Return of the Jedi is fricking gay as hell, and not because of Ewoks either, those homies are cute.
>I blame George for making Star Wars with the assumption that no sequels would be made
Yeah, but that's why Splinter Of The Mind's Eye was written. George wanted a franchise from the get-go.
Empire kinda killed Star Wars. Between the comics and Splinter, Star Wars was just: >Luke and Leia zip around the galaxy foilind Darth Vader's plans, they occasionally frick, sometimes they hang out with Han Solo, sometimes they hang out with a giant rabbit and a space pirate hooker
It was perfect.
You don't get credit for creativity when your ideas are dogshit. I loathed every single decision they made in Last Jedi. I would rather watch Attack of the Clones (horrible, horrible movie) three times in a row before watching Last Jedi ever again.
I feel like the online consensus of the Pirates movies is this order but I only really like the first one. Sure they were all cool when I was a teenager but I can only enjoy the first one as an adult.
Ur right. I only watched them for the first time a few years ago, age 20. Black Pearl was excellent, or at least way better than a movie based on a theme park ride should be. 2 was just ok, Davey Jones was the saving grace. And 3 was genuinely a bit shit, Sparrow talking to himself in Jones' locker was the only time I enjoyed it
The books 100%. Bourne in Supremacy is at his absolute deadliest. I think it's much more compelling that his wife is basically a hostage vs. getting killed in the first act like the movie. As for the movies I barely remember the third and I think I liked the first better than the second. They're kind of apples and oranges though because the actual plot has almost nothing to do with the books, not that there's anything wrong with that. I'm not a book snob, but I just think the narrative and premise are way, way more creative and interesting in the books.
My bad I meant it’s better than Night of the Living Dead
I love the whole trilogy actually, but as charming as Day is, and even though it's clearly a masterpiece in terms of the gore/makeup work...it hits a bad wall and drags like a son of a b***h. I always thought it'd be something I'd get over throughout the years but I haven't. For me, as dated as the first two are...they're pretty fluid and seem like a well oiled machine.
I honestly enjoyed TDKR more than Batman Begins. Yeh it's a bit shit, but at least it has meme value with the opening scene and keeps up the pace through the whole film. Begins was just an absolute snooze and Bateman Batman was super weak to start with
I’ve never seen so many Black folk be WRONG in one thread.
It only really works with capeshit. Raimi’s spiderman series and Nolan’s batman.
Alien would be a reasonable opinion, but I still think the original is the best.
To each their own. I don't want to come across as argumentative, but it's crazy to me you call T2 the slop version of the original but don't consider Pirates 2 a slop version of the original.
By "slop" I mean that T2 is essentially an unnecessary remake of T1 with more spectacle and meme humor.
Pirates 2 is not a remake of Pirates 1, it has its own story, it is also darker and more introspective, compared to the first one which was a straightforward adventure story.
>it is also darker and more introspective, compared to the first one which was a straightforward adventure story.
That's why it isn't as good. That's the direction the series should have stuck with. It doesn't help that all of our main characters from the first movie that had defined, interesting backgrounds and roles are gradually turned into identical generic swashbucklers. Davy Jones was cool and all but the movies bite off more than they should chew after the first. It's no longer about pirates or adventure. Too dark and too serious.
I wanted to watch the second one after enjoying the first, but could only find one magnet on PB and the file was corrupted. Can you help a brotha out here anon?
American Pie
1 is the worst of the 3
1 is the best of the 3

Dumbest answer of the thread.
If I didn't >>(you) it's because the first movie was better.
You're wrong.
NUH UH!
>Dumbest answer of the thread.
Silence of the Lambs was better than Hannibal and Manhunter, or Red Dragon if you count that as 1.
Oh. I see. Silence of Lambs is 2, not 1. I wasn't thinking chronological order, I was thinking: Silence, Hannibal, Red Dragon. Not Manhunter, Silence, Hannibal.
>silence of the lambs
>better than manhunter
Looks like this anon has a bad case of Black person Brain!
Scary Movie
Spider-Man and X-Men
Good start, a sequel that built upon everything, and then a third that tried to do too much and collapsed under its own weight.

Spy Kids. DON'T @ me, I won't respond because you know I'm right.
Star Wars OT
I disagree, the first movie is the best because it's still new and fresh.
I don't think the lack of freshness necessarily hurts Empire, and I love Empire, but I agree Star Wars is the best Star Wars thing ever made.
It's a strange feeling. Star Wars feels like it begins and ends and has nowhere to go, but then Empire gets made. The Godfather
came here to post this and leave. I will do the leaving part now.
Austin Powers and the Raimi trilogy
Silence of the lambs
undoubtedly alien
Alien
The Sequels. The Last Jedi was still bad but at least it had ideas.
I think the first two both hold up really well. The third is an absolute trainwreck, one of the worst movies I've ever seen.
Ur right. I only watched them for the first time a few years ago, age 20. Black Pearl was excellent, or at least way better than a movie based on a theme park ride should be. 2 was just ok, Davey Jones was the saving grace. And 3 was genuinely a bit shit, Sparrow talking to himself in Jones' locker was the only time I enjoyed it
Second one is a pretty cool film with incredible special effects, but too much time is spent setting up the shitty third movie.
Black to the future?
Ice Age
4 and 5 need not apply
The closest is is Nightmare on Elm Street's Alice trilogy (4-6)

How the hell has nobody said these yet?

Dark Souls
Bourne

Raimi Spiderman
Day is better than Dawn

Alien, although I actually like 3
Tim Burton's Batman trilogy (even if he didn't directed Batman Forever, he still produced it)
Nolan's Batman trilogy
Nolans Batman trilogy
I honestly enjoyed TDKR more than Batman Begins. Yeh it's a bit shit, but at least it has meme value with the opening scene and keeps up the pace through the whole film. Begins was just an absolute snooze and Bateman Batman was super weak to start with
Rush Hour
Terminator is the perfect and only answer
I agree but it's more like 2>1>>>3.
Scream
Original Star wars trilogy
Prequel trilogy
The terminator movies
Blade series
Mission impossible series
Alien franchise
I’ve never seen so many Black folk be WRONG in one thread.
It only really works with capeshit. Raimi’s spiderman series and Nolan’s batman.
Alien would be a reasonable opinion, but I still think the original is the best.
Naked Gun
Mad Max
Pirates, maybe Back to the Future.
I used to believe this about Terminator, but I eventually realised that T2 is a slop version of the original.
