Nah, Mackie's been pretty openly contemptuous of the fact that his capeshit movies are destroying cinema for a while now, this is from 2018.
      >“There are no movie stars anymore,” Mackie explained. “Like, Anthony Mackie isn’t a movie star. The Falcon is a movie star. And that’s what’s weird. It used to be with Tom Cruise and Will Smith and Stallone and Schwarzenegger, when you went to the movies, you went to see the Stallone movie. You went to see the Schwarzenegger movie. Now you go see: X-Men. So the evolution of the super hero has meant the death of the movie star.”
      >Mackie continued to lament that Hollywood is different these days, as it only caters to “16-year-olds and China,” and that many classic films would simply never get made today.

“Think of some of your favorite movies growing up, those movies wouldn’t get made today. [“Goonies”] wouldn’t get made today. [“Halloween”] wouldn’t get made today. [“The Thing”] wouldn’t get made today. You watch “Stranger Things” on Netflix; “Stranger Things” is “Goonies.”

Yet he still accept the roles and cash the checks.
Frick Hollywood hypocrites who pretend like they're oh so for the art but feed the monster that chews them up and spits them out.
It take me back to the metoo shit when the women chose being prostituted out and raped because being in movies and a starlet was more important than making a stand in the now.

Well yeah, wouldn't you? He's permanently setting himself and his children + his grand children and their children up for life just by starring in some capeshit, saying some bad dialog and wearing a dumb costume.

            You'd be moronic not to.

The point of the matter is people like him need to cut the high morality horse shit when they're selling out.

I don't see a morality high horse in that quote it's not like he's saying he's better than other actors he's just pointing out what he sees happening to Hollywood today. Him not accepting the role wouldn't change anything.

If Anthony Mackie didn't make some type of quote most people would forget he exists.
    Not just in Marvel either.
He should be grateful to be even employed with Disney when his character was just there most of the time with nothing to do. Then suddenly he's boosted to Captain America II because he's black.

Reminds me of how stupid the Falcon and the Winter Soldier was. I thought it was a fricking obvious self actualisation story about two sidekicks becoming their own men instead of trying to step in the shoes of Captain America
    >kill the father to become a man
Its honestly a really simple narrative, Captain America doesn't just have to physically die but symbolically (like intentionally breaking the shield) so they can both move on. But no they'd rather have it be about falcon remaining in the shadow of Steve. And now they want to create a new Captain America movie instead of a falcon one. I assumed Freud was taught in film school with Freudian archetypes being a big thing in storytelling but I guess not.
