Just came here to post this. Also, Snake in the Eagle's Shadow. I'm out of this thread. Also people who respond with "fpbp" are newbies, imagine thinking ten years and more of Cinemaphile people not noticing a trend.
>You guys think Jackie hit it
im sure he tried to at least. the guy has kind of a creepy look. im pretty sure he cast all the hot chicks in his movies just to try to get them into bed
>You guys think Jackie hit it
im sure he tried to at least. the guy has kind of a creepy look. im pretty sure he cast all the hot chicks in his movies just to try to get them into bed
Jackie has a reputation of being a womanizer. He even had a bastard daughter
Police Story 3 was called Super Cop in North America if you saw that. It's not great, the focus is on gun fights for some reason and the setting is boring. First Strike is also Police Story 4 I think
>trilogy
It's a quadrilogy even if you ignore New and the reboot. PS4 was called First Strike overseas.
There's also a couple movies that started as Police Story but became their own standalones: Rumble in the Bronx and Mr. Nice Guy.
The Sammo Hung collabs, ie twinkle twinkle lucky stars, my lucky stars etc.
When i was a kid, I'd rewatch them all the time. Even if the DVDs were english dubbed, which was kinda funny but also definitely shit.
Half a Loaf was right in the middle of his golden years where he was becoming a huge star doing the comedy Kung Fu flicks. FMF felt like they added him in post production because he was a minor character that ended up becoming the main character by the end inexplicably and having all the best fight scenes.
Reminds me of how Jackie got randomly added into the Cannonball run way back before anyone outside of HK even vaguely knew who he was, simply because golden harvest (i think?) made his inclusion part of the terms for them funding the movie.
It helped that it was a genuine cult classic on it's own merit, full of memorable actors.
I feel bad for Jackie. The movie is plainly his self insert alternate live that despite being estranged from his family and kids, he reconnects to be a dad to and the kid slowly understands how much pain and effort he put into his career.
Also fun fact: the Chinese title is wordplay
Its >龙马精神
Which is an idiom for vigorous spirit, especially for the elderly. Jackie Chan's name in mandarin is 成龙. The title can also be interpreted as Jackie's vigorous spirit despite his age.
>I feel bad for Jackie. The movie is plainly his self insert alternate live that despite being estranged from his family and kids
Well no one's really stopping him from reconnecting with his daughter in real life >except he cheated on his wife and had his daughter with the sweetheart that he never acknowledged
What about his son- >he used he nepotism power to force him into the industry depsite him having zero talent than he sent him to Canada and got caught smoking weed and has been shelfed by the CCP since then
I won't say this is his best movie, but it is unironically the most generically "Jackie Chan" Jackie Chan movie. All the cameos give it the feel of a Lunar New Year movie.
Funniest: City Hunter
Best Kung Fu: Drunken Master
Best single fight scene: Young Master, Wheels on Meals
Best overall movie: Police Story
Honourable mention: Project A
>Don't pay taxes >Get found out >The Party now owns your ass
Jackie brought this on himself. Not paying taxes in the west may get you some prison time and debt. Not paying taxes in the east is a recipe for personal disaster.
armor of god 2 (eva corbo - such a hottie)
wheels on meals
police story 1
drunken master 2
dragons forever
city hunter
project A
and surprised no one mentioned : THUNDERBOLT
It kills me no one ever seems to mention Project A in these threads. It's one of his funniest films and has iconic stunts like the clock tower and the bicycle seat. And the pirates are neat.
I saw Wheels on Meals and Armor of God and I have to be brutally honest the only good parts were the fight scenes. Granted they were really good but still, more than half of those movies could have been cut and it would have improved the pacing. I'm debating whether or not to watch Lucky Stars and Operation Condor since I'm not sure if they're the same deal. I loved Rumble in the Bronx and Who Am I.
Easily Drunken Master 2 or Project A. If Enter the Dragon did not exist, I firmly believe DM2 or PA would be the greatest martial arts film of all time
So here is my issue, I just dont believe she is into the black man, she just knows she is being filmed and knows she will get internet points for acting like she is into it.
>the same handful of webms that get posted every single Jackie thread >watch them all multiple times anyway because Jackie is the greatest filmmaker to ever live
This is great. Especially when he is trying to outrun the bus. I had a really shitty dvd transfer of this, that was like VHS quality, because there were no real versions of it at the time.
Police Story 3
Rumble in the Bronx
Mr Nice Guy
Operation Condor
Super Cop 2
Drunken Master (both of them?)
Meals on Wheels
Crime Story
Armour of God (some good stunts)
The Tuxedo or Rush Hour 3 were his last good American movies really, not talking about cartoons. Movies after that are like shit…so I stopped being a fan some of them are just seriously not worthy of anything.
No love for Project A 2? It has one of his funniest, elaborate comedy scenes, plus a lot of creative scenes like this handcuff one on top of all the good fights
Drunken Master
beat me to it
Just came here to post this. Also, Snake in the Eagle's Shadow. I'm out of this thread. Also people who respond with "fpbp" are newbies, imagine thinking ten years and more of Cinemaphile people not noticing a trend.
Dragons Forever, Police Story, Meals on wheels
i saw wheels on meals the other day and its so cringe and boring when theyre not fighting and even the fights werent that good
It's entirely because of the fight with Benny and the gymnast chick is hot. You guys think Jackie hit it?
>You guys think Jackie hit it
im sure he tried to at least. the guy has kind of a creepy look. im pretty sure he cast all the hot chicks in his movies just to try to get them into bed
Jackie has a reputation of being a womanizer. He even had a bastard daughter
Assume he did, in asia actress = prostitute if they want to work and Jackie is a known pussyhound
Disturbing fact: Younger Jackie was also a porn star, once. Google it
that describes most of Jackie's HK action films, 90 minutes of shitty slapstick,10 minutes of great fight scenes
Anon doesn't like the fast food truck...
How do I know you have no soul
>meals on wheels
Aw shit I fricked it up
lost track of whatever was supposed to be going on in dragons forever. good action but i didn't really care by the end.
I think it's more rewatchable than most and the CIA girl makes it top 10 material at least.
hapkido too. as good or better than most of jackie's movies.
I’m sorry but I watch Wheels on Meals for one fight and the rest is just painful.
Police Story
Drunken Master 2 and it's not even close.
>Drunken Master 2 and it's not even close.
This.
Special shout out to Bryan Cranston, who does some excellent dubbing work in this movie as the fishmonger tiger style guy
Frick me. I have watched Drunken Master II like 200 times and never realized Tsang was dubbed by Cranston.
project a
how is it the "hard mode" if you think the american movies are crap anyways?
His 2 seconds getting owned by Bruce in Enter the Dragon is cool...and funny, but it's not a Jackie movie so your choice is discarded.
>fake tough chinkmerican vs actual tough chink
You just know
Police Story and Rumble in the Bronx
Rush Hour
Aww, you don't like American movies? Stick your tongue out and get ready to eat my corn kerneled shit.
Fearless Hyena
I don't think its his best but I'm really fond of Who Am I
best movie
Jackie chan
Police Story trilogy, Armor of God and Gorgeous.
>Police Story trilogy
Is the third one good? I only watched the first two for some reason.
Police Story 3 was called Super Cop in North America if you saw that. It's not great, the focus is on gun fights for some reason and the setting is boring. First Strike is also Police Story 4 I think
Yes, 4 is part of it. Also, ladder fight is goat.
I kinda love Supercop for what it is. I thought it was funny. Michelle Yeoh takes the spotlight in a big way. First Strike is even funnier.
It’s alright. A lot less action. I stopped watching after the third mainly because the fourth didn’t have Maggie in it
It's still got great action and it's the funniest with the best story. He pairs very well with Michelle Yeoh.
>Michelle Yeoh
No thanks. Best Jackie waifu coming through.
Nah
Only the first one is good. Gorgeous while having a great fight scene is also kinda boring but worth a watch.
>Only the first one is good.
I liked 2 better than 1.
>trilogy
It's a quadrilogy even if you ignore New and the reboot. PS4 was called First Strike overseas.
There's also a couple movies that started as Police Story but became their own standalones: Rumble in the Bronx and Mr. Nice Guy.

you're not going to like it but the answer is shanghai noon
If this were China you'd be put to death
The horseshoe rope thing is one of the coolest things he’s ever done tbh.
Shanghai Knights
>protag getting his ass kicked
>music starts
>protag fights with renewed determination
I fricking love this trope
all of these hits look like they actually hurt
i wish we could go back
Great fight. Shit movie.
WAY OF THE DRAGON DID IT FIRST
KNEEL, JACKIEgayS
NAMES
that was a weird movie. if he would have slept the entire time the outcome would have been the same.
The architect's plans and affair wouldn't have been revealed
Snake in the Eagle's Shadow
Drunken Master 1 & 2
Police Story 3
If you're avoiding American crap and nixing the obvious Drunken Master that was as popular here as over there...
Snake in Eagle's Shadow, Fearless Hyena, Half a Loaf of kung fu and Fantasy Mission Force.
>Half a Loaf of Kung Fu and Fantasy Mission Force.
I have never even heard of those.
Half a Loaf was right in the middle of his golden years where he was becoming a huge star doing the comedy Kung Fu flicks. FMF felt like they added him in post production because he was a minor character that ended up becoming the main character by the end inexplicably and having all the best fight scenes.

It helped that it was a genuine cult classic on it's own merit, full of memorable actors.
he played a japanese guy in cannonball lol
I thought it was just a japanese car? His name is still 'chan' and iirc he speaks cantonese with his partner the whole movie
FMF was hot garbage and you know it. You just want credit for suffering though it to have obscure jackie lore under your belt.
I feel bad for Jackie. The movie is plainly his self insert alternate live that despite being estranged from his family and kids, he reconnects to be a dad to and the kid slowly understands how much pain and effort he put into his career.
Also fun fact: the Chinese title is wordplay
Its
>龙马精神
Which is an idiom for vigorous spirit, especially for the elderly. Jackie Chan's name in mandarin is 成龙. The title can also be interpreted as Jackie's vigorous spirit despite his age.
damn it, i don't want to see jackie chan cry. i couldn't get through new police story
say what you will about his family life and politics but man what a legacy
christ almighty
>I feel bad for Jackie. The movie is plainly his self insert alternate live that despite being estranged from his family and kids
Well no one's really stopping him from reconnecting with his daughter in real life
>except he cheated on his wife and had his daughter with the sweetheart that he never acknowledged
What about his son-
>he used he nepotism power to force him into the industry depsite him having zero talent than he sent him to Canada and got caught smoking weed and has been shelfed by the CCP since then
That's not his real daughter. She's an actor lol. Jackie has a child in Canada that's a blue haired weirdo.
>Simple Jackie
I won't say this is his best movie, but it is unironically the most generically "Jackie Chan" Jackie Chan movie. All the cameos give it the feel of a Lunar New Year movie.
i remember drunken master and police story were really good but i dont think i will enjoy it in this day and age. so what were his modern kino?
He doesn't have any modern kino. He hasn't made anything worth watching since the late 90s.
Gorgeous
how is that hard mode?
all his american movies are trash
Funniest: City Hunter
Best Kung Fu: Drunken Master
Best single fight scene: Young Master, Wheels on Meals
Best overall movie: Police Story
Honourable mention: Project A
One that often gets overlooked is 'Mr. Canton and Lady Rose' which is a shame.
Miracles is pure fricking kino.
Drunken Master 2
Rush Hour 2
Rumble in the Bronx
Honorable mention: Meals on Wheels, Project A, Police Story 3
>Drunken Master 2
i still don't understand what's with his character in that, he's like 40 but he's treated by his parents like he's 12
it wanted to have a PSA about heavy drinking that was really unnecessary
Happens all the time. Look at the Biden kid (and I don’t care how old he is, I had more self control at 23)
Now that I see meals on wheels is the new bandwagon answer, I will say Project A 2 and Dragons Forever.
Man I love Jackie Chan films but Wheels On Meals is fricking BORING. Just watch the fight with Benny the Jet on youtube or something.
This, I bought a collection that had Wheels and two of the Lucky Stars movies and that shit was a chore to get through
>Get famous because Hong Kong has freedom.
>Become a stooge for the commie party so your movies don't get bannu.
Man Jackie fell hard.
>Don't pay taxes
>Get found out
>The Party now owns your ass
Jackie brought this on himself. Not paying taxes in the west may get you some prison time and debt. Not paying taxes in the east is a recipe for personal disaster.
>disown junkie son
>disown dyke daughter
I'm thinking based
>fail as a parent
>twice
>I'm thinking based
You aren't thinking at all.
orientals disown their kids if their blood type is B- and not A+
armor of god 2 (eva corbo - such a hottie)
wheels on meals
police story 1
drunken master 2
dragons forever
city hunter
project A
and surprised no one mentioned : THUNDERBOLT
It kills me no one ever seems to mention Project A in these threads. It's one of his funniest films and has iconic stunts like the clock tower and the bicycle seat. And the pirates are neat.
plus top tier sammo bro comfiness
I saw Wheels on Meals and Armor of God and I have to be brutally honest the only good parts were the fight scenes. Granted they were really good but still, more than half of those movies could have been cut and it would have improved the pacing. I'm debating whether or not to watch Lucky Stars and Operation Condor since I'm not sure if they're the same deal. I loved Rumble in the Bronx and Who Am I.
You're going to hate lucky stars. It doesn't even have good action
>hard mode: no american crap
lol wut. all his best movies are non american
Chinese Zodiac, movie is just alright but this scene is kino
what a bizarre movie
not really. if you watch movies like armour of god, it's exactly the same thing.
Just watched this.
Jackie was trained in Chinese Opera so he knows how to play female characters
Meals on Wheels. Had the whole chan gang of familiar actors.
Police Story 3. Love the chemistry with Yeoh
Drunken Master 2 is his best. Surprise honorable mention: Rumble in the Bronx
>kick your opponent onto burning coals
>give jaunty thumbs up as he fails about
Wheels on Meals, no competition.
And it features even a beautiful Spanish lady, Miss Spain.
rumble in the bronx
Easily Drunken Master 2 or Project A. If Enter the Dragon did not exist, I firmly believe DM2 or PA would be the greatest martial arts film of all time
Drunken master 2 doesn’t have a ladder prop scene, so it can only ever be second best
>what are his best movies?
>hard mode: no american crap
New Police Story (2004)
A beaver and an orangutan. Very painful to watch
So here is my issue, I just dont believe she is into the black man, she just knows she is being filmed and knows she will get internet points for acting like she is into it.
Reminder that Jackie Chan is a fraud and literally every one of his movie has a stunt double
Rumble in the Bronx. He throws a boombox or something at a group of thugs and goes "YOU ARE AWL GAHBAGE"
Kek what movie.
Looks like the first Police Story
He supported Tiananmen students in 1989 that's why he keeps making shitty movies for the CCP since then
>that kick that put out the flames
>that near hit with the front axe kick
God I wish movies were good as this again.
police story
>the same handful of webms that get posted every single Jackie thread
>watch them all multiple times anyway because Jackie is the greatest filmmaker to ever live
This is great. Especially when he is trying to outrun the bus. I had a really shitty dvd transfer of this, that was like VHS quality, because there were no real versions of it at the time.
kino
Fricking crazy that Drunken Master 2 officially premiered in the US in 2000, when Rush Hour was already a staple of the 1990s in the US.
Disturbing fact part 2: Rush Hour was responsible for the creation of Rotten Tomatoes.
Clearly his best role is gay zoomer rat
