>Almost every Fantastic Four story known to man as the movies have been stuck on the origin
>Enough X-Men shit to make a whole universe in of itself
>A Spider-Man who's now entering the best era of the comics
>New Avengers characters who haven't got time to fully stretch their legs yet
>Fricking Sentry
Wow the MCU really has done everything...
>Sentry
You surely mean Miracleman.
>you will live to see them ruin all of these in real time
I don't you'll live long enough to see the MCU die.
Define "die". 5 years without a Marvel movie? Yeah, that wont happen soon.
A bunch of flops and canned projects? Already in progress.
Soft reboot? Probably already planned.
Hard reboot? Probably 6 or so years away.
A whole year without more than 3 MCU projects coming out? Within a decade.
I'm seeing it die right now.
It'll die within 5 years. Screencap this.
There will be more Marvel movies in the form of 1-offs or reboots but most of the upcoming films in the current MCU are going to bomb so bad it'll make headlines.
Truly we are fortunate that the MCU will just have Sentry be a dangerous one and done lunatic and not drag out years of his stupid Mary Sue bullshit
>not wanting a psychedelic horror-esque retelling of the original mini instead of Bendis' garbage
You're a homosexual with no taste
>>A Spider-Man who's now entering the best era of the comics
Get ready for them to ruin it by constantly having him team up with Avengers/adding Miles and Silk and Gwen as a constant/tackling only crazy metaphysical non-Manhattan threats etc. They're going to keep trying to outdo NWH 100%.
>best era of the comics
But this isnt the 80s? Its college era again.
>80s
That's when comic sales started to hit the toilet
That was the 90s
>>A Spider-Man who's now entering the best era of the comics
yeah with all the dumb MCU baggage tied to it and none of the characters that actually made the stories from that era good (MJ, Aunt, May, Jean DeWolff, etc.)
>A Spider-Man who's now entering the best era of the comics
>none of the characters that actually made the stories from that era good
> Aunt, May,
No. You aren't fooling me OR yourself, Tobeygay.
also midnight sons
but if they do x-men disney will have to steer clear of krakoa because everyone will see how awful it will be long before it gets any hype. x-men need a reboot to before bendis or it's going to suck
There's legit so much potential for mutants that aren't limited to just one movie every 2-3 years that are essentially Wolverine movies with some other guys in the background.
Fox tapped (successfully) that potential only TWICE: 1. First Class 2. Legion.
I haven't seen Gifted to make anything out of it. New Mutants was a great idea, just bad execution, hell, material originated in New Mutants eventually resulted in Legion if you've read the comics.
>that aren't limited to just one movie every 2-3 years that are essentially Wolverine movies with some other guys in the background.
with the way MCU is heading, it'll likely be like that inevitably
every Fantastic Four story known to man as the movies have been stuck on the origin
If you've been keeping up with the news on that production. It's not looking good. Mr Fantastic is going to be a toxic conservative male and Sue is a girlboss.
insider here, the next big project is gonna be a 10 hours long detailed animation of miss minutes porn
>animation
it'd be interesting to see a hand drawn animation of miss minutes in the show tbh
Kino
Disney should invest in porn.
Actually I take that back. Huge monkey paw.
There's enough Marvel content for them to make movies quite literally for over 100 years and Marvel is still churning out new shit in the mean time so the list will only grow
>There's enough Marvel content for them to make movies quite literally for over 100 years
Except not really because they've retired all the characters from that content.
There's no hulk, iron man, captain america etc. any more. Oh, it's fine, they've got the Dazzler.
Many storirs are repetitive. Comics allow thwt repetition. Movies dont
It doesn't help they kill off every villain when most superhero stories thrive on the villain being memorable as much as the hero.
>the next avengers movie is in phase 6
I just noticed we have to wait until 2026 for any of the new avenger people to be relevant. Does Feige not believe in their newest products?
Movies take time to make, shocking I know
Great Lakes Avengers.
The MCU will be killed in a few years and rebooted. The Ultimate Marvel Cinematic Universe is on the horizon.
TV series were really the final straw.
They've had TV shows forever. There was Agents of SHIELD right after the first Avengers movie, there were all the Netflix shows, there was a bunch of shit nobody even remembers like Agent Carter and Runaways and Cloak & Dagger and Inhumans. But none of those shows mattered, they used to have a strict policy of never referencing TV shows in the movies so people who haven't seen them wouldn't feel lost. They dropped that policy with the advent of Disney+, now a lot of these shows are required viewing. Wandavision was required for Dr Strange MoM, both Falcon&WS and Hawkeye are required for Thunderbolts, Loki is literally setting up the main villain of this phase. They absolutely expected that everyone who watches the movies would also be watching these shows. Unbelievably delusional.
That was my point.
>Cloak & Dagger
I unironically like the second season more than any Netflix slop barring Daredevil. It's too bad the first one was so bland that it left a very poor impression.
Im pissed we'll never get a Runaways movie because of that awful tv show. The comics benefitted a lot with occassional gueat appearence like Wolverine, MCU inegration post mutants would have been awesome.
What's the point of doing a reboot if they keep making the same mistakes?
To save money by cutting actors that art too expensive and want too much creative control
They will learn from 1 particular mistake, don't let the actors leaving be the end for characters. they will recast big characters like iron man and captain america next time. there will be no endings for the popular characters.
Just like in real comics!
They should've went all-in on theatrical animation from the start. RDJ's paycheck for Endgame could've funded a whole animated movie, and the CGI wouldn't look as shit.
The What if? series sucks ass and Spiderverse made way less than any of the Holland Spider-Man movies.
But the MCU is already the Ultimate universe
MCU was stated to be the 616 universe
You don't read comics so you didn't even understand his point.
they based alot of the mcu off the ultimate universe
Shouldn't Nick Fury be white then?
>I feel like they've done everything they can.
LMAO.
They turned their backs on comics books
They only hire writers who don't know comics.
Hired awful directors.
Hired actors who act like Divas.
They thought they could do it better than the comics pros.
Miscast and ideology to the point where it was impossible for even the normies to keep up.
Costumes aren't important to superhero comics.
I think it's more about the casting and direction of the character.
>This large component of a visual medium doesn't matter
So Iron Man would be just as popular if he were just a plain clothes adventurer?
Right, sure.
Yes, Have you seen the shitty costume they give him in the 80s?
Which one? The piecemeal suit he juryrigged before he was able to build the Silver Centurion, or the glorified hospital gown he wore while remotely piloting the NTU-150?
>An alleged "bad" costume in the 80s (which means nothing as a description) means we need to get rid of costumes altogether
You brain has been damaged by """realism"""
The new movie designs look way better anyway.
What's so wrong about having different costumes for different adaptions? Sherlock Holmes does it, James Bond does it.
They have no idea what women want and like to see, maybe it's because their team only has trannies and gays there who think that putting on burqas in all women will make the reviews good and attract families lol, they have no idea what they are doing I hope Barbie taught Warner something
That’s not about female viewers, it’s actually about getting good actresses in the roles.
This may surprise you anon, but gone are the days of someone like Pamela Anderson being the female in comic book movies. Talented actresses don’t want to wear bustiers, one piece swimsuits on set for 9 hours days for weeks.
Comic writers make for shitty movie writers. I don't know why Cinemaphile tries to pretend otherwise
Brie Larson looks cute, only mistake was giving her a dyke haircut for endgame
no domino mask tho 🙁
Heroes for Hire reboot movie series like Rush Hour and Lethal Weapon
Luke solo movie, Iron Fist solo movie and then crossover movie. I'd like to see Immortal Iron Fist by Brubaker get adapted too.
Didn't they announce an Ultimatum movie a couple years ago? Was that just baseless?
yea it was supposed to release after the sentry solo movie
Boy I hope they have that scene of him lecturing Ben that they can't kill a supervillain after he killed a school bus full of children, only for the villain to easily break out of prison and kill another school bus full of children just to rub it in Ben's face.
What
Having trouble finding the exact page, but it was during a time when Sentry was dead/thought dead.
>Ben tells a story of one encounter with Sentry
>The Wrecker just killed a bus full of children
>Ben was pissed and about to just beat the man to death
>Sentry stops him by force because "NO YOU CAN'T KILL HIM YOU'LL BE JUST LIKE HIM"
>he gets sent to jail.
>Ben mentions that the Wrecker broke out of prison and murdered another bus full of children to mock them
>Ben laments that the Sentry was right about how killing the Wrecker would have made him just as bad
Here you go
Seriously let Deadpool kill the MCU in one movie and going forward just have 2-3 movie arcs that cover Marvel stories that involve the X-Men/Avengers/F4/etc...
Now more of this overarching slop. Does Feige seriously expect to have people in the future watch like 50+ movies and 20+tv series.
>Deadpool kill the MCU
Most of those who recommend this is waypool fan .
Dazzler. Lots and lots of Dazzler.
>starts Cinemaphile thread
>doesn't read comics or watch cartoons
Is anyone on Cinemaphile still watching these? I feel like Cinemaphile and /tg/ mostly checked the frick out after Endgame. Only movie o remember anyone even talking about seeing was the last GOTG movie, but that’s one out of like… what a dozen movies that have come out since Endgame?
proper hell n demons style "Inferno" event
Fall of the Mutants
Proper Silver Surfer
proper 'God loves man kills'
doing a fullblown crossover Inferno would be amazing
THINK OF THE BIBLE BELT!
oh it'd be an absolute HIT there.
>kill off the main cast
>replace them with DIVERSE alternatives
>skip all the huge, character-defining storylines
>turn secret invasion into a meaningless show that has zero impact on the rest of the MCU
>start rolling out the c-listers
Gee, I dunno. Feels like the barrel might be getting scraped.
They have and anyone who tells you otherwise is out of their goddamn mind. Marvel is never going to replace the star power of the original Avengers cast. Those actors were those characters to the average movie goer. Putting some chud in a similar costume and passing the title to them isn't going to work, it hasn't for comics and it won't for films ether.
>b-buh they will make new stars!
Who? They're shitting out new heroes and none of them are doing anything beyond their first movie/TV show.
>muh xmen
Jokes on you people are already burned out on them. You can thank the wave of xmen films over the past two decades for that.
tbh i hope capeshit dies hard. unless the industry get mad creative without capitulating to the wokes, we're gonna get slop.
since hollywood/disney are mostly creatively bankrupt, they're all looking for the next big escapisim-story. Doubtful we'll see cyberpunk make a big splash, no chances of ...say...Jeff Noon's Vurt or Pollen being made into a series of books (god i wish they would). space operas dont connect with the common folks, and fantasy has to compare itsself with game of thrones for god knows how much longer.
>Jeff Noon's Vurt or Pollen being made into a series of books (god i wish they would)
I wish they wouldn't. They'd frick it up.
>space operas dont connect with the common folks
Uhhh what? I know modern Star Wars is a corpse of its former self but that isn't for lack of appeal.
>Marvel is never going to replace the star power of the original Avengers cast.
I think this is central to a lot of their issues in trying to regain audience interest. There's a reason why they're going hard into nostalgia, those big-name actors tend to get more attention than the name of the characters they're playing.
>Jokes on you people are already burned out on them.
I don't know why people think them being in the MCU would be something special, they've spent their load for the past two decades.
I honestly just want a cool Gambit movie and that's really it
They'd have to make a good fantastic four movie first, and that's not happening because they hate Mr Fantastic and Sue being a happily married couple.
meant this one.
Make a good Dr.Doom movie. It would be the only thing they could possibility make that I'd actually spend money to go see.
We need another multiverse episode but all the multiverse superheroes are actually big squids that don't really do anything but end up saving the day anyways.
>There's talk about the cool things the Squid Avengers do offscreen, but anytime they're onscreen they're just laying on the floor
>At the climax the villain has beaten all the other heroes
>Is about to complete his plan when suddenly his machine starts exploding
>"NO, HOW COULD THIS HAVE HAPPENED!?"
>cuts to a squid Captain America lying placidly next to an important machine with his shield shoved into it and the guards who defending it all knocked out
I'd watch it
They still have Power Pack to do. I wouldn't say no to a properly done Rom, Spaceknight!
IDW would probably accept any such cash infusion.
>I wouldn't say no to a properly done Rom, Spaceknight!
ROM would be kino but they don't have the rights to him anymore
I think they're trying to republish the comic? I remember a facsimile edition from some months ago.
They've done a deal with Hasbro recently which means we're finally seeing ROM and Micronauts get collected. Both series are getting their first ever omnibuses next year, and they've already done some facsimile first issue reprints.
mcu will continue to fizzle out unless they get some star power in these things. it's telling that the biggest buzz is for guys like tobey and jackman reprising roles from decades ago.
>I feel like they've done everything they can.
They haven't made a good movie yet. They should try that next.
I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to see them kick the next DCU to death with the weakest MCU offerings
not a fan or anything I just think it's funny that it keeps happening
They should have recasted and kept the story going like James bond. I don't think avengers roaster will look good with sidekicks and second generation
>They should have recasted and kept the story going like James bond
that was the initial plan back in 2012-2014ish
then why did they go back on it?
>going like James bond
Nobody cares about James Bond anymore. Especially nowadays when the next one is going to be a black chick.
Well all good IP will eventually taken over by agenda pushers. You will get good Story in the sane IP again when it fais and someone who is fan takes over without any oversight. It won't last long though. Once there is success, agenda pushers will come back again.
>You will get good Story in the sane IP again when it fais and someone who is fan takes over without any oversight.
This mentality is how you get Geoff Johns.
Or filoni
All they've done is literally adapt one 6 issue comic in 15 years.
Nothing as long as they insist on not recasting characters. Killing Iron man, having Capt America retiring, and killing Black Panther because the actor also died were the stupidest long term decisions they have made.
How much longer do they think Hemsworth and Cumberbatch will stick around? Or even worthless actors like Larson?
SQUADRON SUPREME, PLEASE
