If you don't want corny shit, don't do movies about comic book superheroes

  6. 2 years ago

He never really ever realized that superheroes are inherently corny while Reimi always has and plays up that corniness, occasionally to the detriment of his films. This is why Reimi's Spider-Man trilogy, for all its flaws, is still a classic that people who grew up with it have nostalgia for while most of Feige's gazillion dollar box office capeflicks are forgotten about barely 2 years after their initial release.

The one from amazing 2 was pretty good as well. Both really sold the characters. Norman was showy and insane while harry is a angry, dying moron so his suit looks messy and his face is fricked.

Sometimes you just want an unsympathetic villain that goes full ham and has fun being an evil bastard. It's what the Joker should be, but rarely ever is anymore.

To be fair, to that point you either had Donner Superman or Burton Batman to go off (and w/e the failed Batmans). X-Men's success wouldn'tve been minted during filming of SM1.

also Spider-Man 3 will never, ever be good. Not "ironically"--not "no the dance number is muh how Peter THINKS cool people would behave." No. None of that. It's a failure of a movie.

The only reason Spider-man 3 isnt good is that Raimi was forced to add Venom, though.

  23. 2 years ago

Was Mordo even set up at all? Did he ever show any skills that set him above the average sorcerer and made him unique? I feel like staredowns like this need a tension between the characters beforehand.

      Anonymous

It comes from the first movie; Strange is suspicious of Mordo given how the one from his universe was, and Mordo’s suspicion seemingly comes from the fact (which is mentioned later) that his universe’s Strange’s (and many other Stranges have this tendency) plan and/or idea got out of hand and caused more suffering than it didn’t.
