Kory or Kara provides a half alien with powers, Rose provides the drama of Dick’s baby being his archenemy’s grandkid, and Tarantula or any female villain also provides tons of drama and ensures Dick actually keeps one of his villains for once.

Nightwing's popularity and success is the proof DC and Marvel need to realize you can make superhero comics appealing to women without "diversifying" or appealing to the dyed hair squad. Of all the superhero characters he is the one that suffers the most from comics ultimately being static. He is always going to be defined by his relationship with Batman and he will never escape the Batfamily. It would never happen and maybe it shouldn't but, the only meaningful place to take Dick is having a universe where he permanently takes over the mantle of Batman from Bruce.
Nobody gives a frick about comics. It doesn’t matter if Dick stayed as Batman in the books. If Bruce is Batman in outside media, the average person will associate Bruce with Batman. Only the movies, tv and games based on these characters are what ultimately matters. Comics are just the source for these mediums to pull from.
DC needs to be very firm when it comes to Dick. In the past they have been careless and even sloppy with Dick. Putting Dick in places and situations where Dick has absolutely no business being. DC has to take a better grip on Dick, treat Dick better, put Dick in situations where he can grow and show everyone the old Dick we all remember reading about.
