Maybe like 10 years ago. Since he never got his Oscar he just gave up and started doing trash.
I'd like to give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he didn't know the CGI would be this laughably cheap and terrible.
But he probably knew and just didn't care.

The CGI riddled fight scenes were the most disappointing. Its a movie primarily about fighting and they didn't even bother to make the fights look real or cool.
It was a fun 2hr watch but I wont watch again. The original is perfect and didn't need this remake.
