>Make an Usagi Yojimbo show >It's not actually the same Usagi >It's not even Space Usagi
I honestly don't know what they were thinking. I know Stan really wanted a show for a long time but this wasn't the way to go.
Probably wanted to make some kind of 3D kids show, relized this IP existed and decided thats the kind of cult classeic they need to hype people up for it.
It is not as good as Phantom 2040, Batman Beyond, Spider Man Into the Spider Verse, etc. at using a legacy character, but it is not that bad. I mean they tried to make the most of it with the rating and the target audience they were given in the platform / distributor they had to compete against. I know the west has been starving for more action shit since slice of life, sitcoms, and boring lore shit took over the market, and as far as other action cartoons in CGI have gone, there are far worse than Samurai Rabbit. I get why Stan Sakai let it happen the way he did. I would have done it like those Tales of the TMNT episodes with Usagi instead. I do wish we had more threads about the Samurai Rabbit show over Disney, MCU, DCU, and other Live Action shit threads.

this is kind of the most offensive aspect of most netflix/streaming cartoons to me. they're all painfully milquetoast and boring. every pitiful excuse of an action cartoon these days has the pacing of a PBS kids program.
The death kiss of the show. Forced humor, completely different tone than the comics, trying very hard to be like a kung fu Panda cartoon which themselves are bland most of the time. But really they aim for a very young audience with pointless silliness and that kneecaps the show.
The only positive things I can say about the show is the portrayal of the Yokai as chaotic, but not always evil beings and bringing back Usagi's voice actor from TMNT 2012.
Stan has plans on having Yuki Matsuzaki return for upcoming projects in the near future!

What went so horrifically and thoroughly wrong in every possible way and capacity?
It's just an okay show. At times it felt underwhelming writing and character development wise but the art and character designs are really nice for the most part.
It's baffling. If you're going to downplay the license and make a point of alienating its audience by changing setting and tone, WHY even do the adaptation at all?
Not a lot of room in childrens' limited attention spans for mediocre action cartoons when Netflix is blasting them with other shit to waste their time with instead.
There are some adaptations that are just so awful so horrendous. I can't help but imagine a boardroom, full of people who don't know what they're holding. Can't be bothered to even read the source material.
How do we get people who never seen it to watch?
How do we get kids?
What uf we change X to Y, what if it's actually Z change?
By the time they're done, it's like what was even the point of any of this? You just made a new show, why include the property name?
made for kids not morons
Tell that to the writers that seem to believe there's no functional difference between the two.
>says butthurt OP
lol
To be fair, your opinion may be biased by your belonging to both demographics
btfo. its over
We can't have nice things
I like it for what it is, but it’s not a Usagi show

Only decent thing about this show.
Doesnt even look like a character from the comics.
It's a Descendant, duh
Everything about this show feels like it could have been AI-generated

>The Usagi branding is so irrelevant they pushed it to the subtitle
