First Class and Charles meeting her as children. It was a really bad idea and nothing good came of it. Not J Law, not her stupid love interest with Beast, not her being the reason he's blue, not her saying "we're X-Men", not her saying the "X-Women" line, none of it. Rebecca was literal villain PERFECTION and they threw it away.
She's a surprisingly good actress in general for being that hot, let alone supermodel turned actress.

That one line does more for Mystique's character development than the 4 JLaw movies combined.
Not every character needs a detailed backstory, and not every character needs an explanation for what/why they are doing something. This is a good example of that. It worked much better in the first movies because she was just there with Magneto already.

I know you specified young actors, but among the entire cast, it seems like the only ones to get and maintain a career boost from GOT were Peter Dinklage and Charles Dance.
The young stars all got involved in flops, most notably Emilia Clarke who is the definition of box office poison and refuses to get naked anymore
