John McLane was more relatable than all the ESL bodybuilder action guys we were seeing on the regular. The dynamic between the hero and villain was also something we hadn't really seen before and it was done perfectly.
The appeal of the film, to me, is the excellent direction by John McTiernan. His only shit film is Rollerball (2002). A much overlooked director in my opinion.
>There are people in this world that dont like Die Hard
I dont understand. I get hating the sequels, I wasn't fond of the ones after 3 myself, but the first one is perfect. A game of cat and mouse between two men who are very clever in very different ways. Its great watching McLane get the shit kicked out of him and then grab the win by the skin of his teeth with one crazy gamble or quick witted move while he goads the arrogant, suave Gruber into a frothing rage.
my favourite part of die hard is how John McClane couldn't have done it without the African-American cop or the African-American limousine driver. If they weren't around to help him, McClane would have been fuuuuuucked.
I see what you're trying to do zoomie zoom but you must remember that Die Hard is a pre Obama movie, therefore race relations weren't in the fricking gutter yet.
Black folk were allowed to be the white mans sassy sidekicks in the 90s, and they were damn good at it.
I really feel sad for him and his family. Watching a loved one drift away from age and illness is one of the most heart wrenching things. I wouldn't even want any of you bastards to have to go through that, and I'm including OP.

Man some of the were so good they were almost honorary whites.
Nah zoom zoom, nice try though!
Murtaugh is as white as a man with melanin can get.
yep. exactly. everyone just got on if they weren't c**ts.
Zoomers trying to retroactively make old movies "woke" in an attempt to own the chuds will never not be pathetic
Next you're going to tell us how important african labor was in the american south during the first half of the nineteenth century.
shootouts and shit

it's probably better to just dome yourself in the early stages when you still know who you and your family are
