My friend and I would take dollar bills, make them into mini paper airplanes, and throw them at the strippers. One time in Myrtle Beach, the strippers started bending over and spreading their buttholes so we could try to get them in. We were a hit.

Any gay who signs up to be an actor and then gets annoyed when someone on set as talented as Carrey turns out to be incredibly grating is an idiot. Suck it up and be glad you're witnessing a master of comedy.

Jones was right about having scorn for Carrey and his 'acting' but honestly, he was 100% wrong in how he dealt with it in this particular film.

And I don't mean the buffoonery line, that's fricking classic. What I mean is his performance. He tried to show up Carrey by being even crazier and more schizo than him which is honestly kind of impossible. His Two-face was terrible. And it was a badly written character so it's not 100% his fault, but still. He mailed that shit in. All he does is yell and cackle

It should be noted that a LOT of TLJ's hate for Carey was due to the fact that Jones had been working on a passion project, a prestige film (a baseball biography) for years and it had a lot of hype as far as being a possible Oscar winning role for Jones.... But the film got fricked over when it was released the same weekend as a Jim Carey film (either Dumb and Dumber or Ace Ventura) and got crushed in the box office, so badly that it got pulled from theaters after a couple of weeks and was utterly ignored by critics in favor of Careys film. Jones never forgave Carey for this and should note, only played Two Face in Batman Forever because he spent most of his own money making said baseball film and needed the big bucks he was offered to do cape shit to live on.

True, but a lot of the misconceptions or outright lies about him came from the singular source the movie was based on and other people who created baseball retrospectives using his book as a source. TLJ is a c**t for breathing more life into his trash.

I’m pretty sure you can get them warm out of the vending machines too, though that’s based on a brief visit that I made to Japan 15 years ago.

Their vending machines are so kick ass. I wish that we could have some shit like that here, but Black folk would just break them. I was watching a video where Japan also evidently had this cool little park where dozens of foxes live, and you can hang out in there with them. That got me thinking that if that would be even attempted here, it would be shut down in a week, because people would be trying to steal/scare/abuse/frick the foxes and undoubtedly feed them junk food and shot. There would also be cigarette butts all over the place.

No, italians let their cats out because there's infinitely less cars to run them over.
US is massive so I don't even know what part you're talking about but anywhere there's a lot of roads cats get hit by cars so they're kept inside. They also get eaten by coyotes the more rural you go. People with outside cats in the US are fricking buttholes. The only acceptable reason to have outdoor cats is if you own a massive ranch and need working cats as mousers. Except even that isn't right because dogs do it 10x better and you get them badass anti-coyote collars.

    Jones 100%

He took on a cooky Batman project to be cast alongside the world's zaniest comic actor in the world. There's no way Schumacher "tricked" him into taking it, he knew was he was getting into.

Then Jones proceeds to try and be just as much a buffoon as Carrey which is a fool's game because Carrey in the 90s was the world's best buffoon on screen - nobody would be able to compete with him.

Should have just given Carrey the Joker and let Jones play straight man.

Jones' only ambition was that sweet Nicholson money, so being that these comic book movies were still so new at the time, he hammed it the frick up. The problem is that you can't out-Jim-Carrey Jim Carrey.

        Anonymous

I dont know. I think Jonesy boy at the very least was equally goofy. I bet Carrey was furious that he was being rivaled by an angry old fart.

          Anonymous

If the tone of the movie allowed it, Jones would have taken on the role of a man of the law completely scarred by the crime world he is trying to fight and he himself succumbs to it from the damage he has taken and becomes a crime kingpin obsessed with a coin making his decisions. ANY actor worth their salt would have sank their teeth into such a role, but that's not the movie we got.
Its not that Jones is incapable of being goofy or taking on lighthearted roles; its just a situation kinda like how Billy Crystal would describe Robin Williams. If you tried to go as fast as Robin could, he would just go faster. Jones comedic chops suited the universe at the time, but he was outshone by Carrey.

            Anonymous

Forever is actually lucky they cast Carrey because he was able to sell that goofy tone. It was a Jim Carrey Movie as much as a Batman movie and so people kind of rolled with the same sort of shit that didn't go over as well in Batman and Robin. The funniest person in that movie was Schwarzenegger, who is legit good at comedy but can't sell a whole cartoonish film essentially on his own like Carrey can

              Anonymous

Schumacher caught Jim Carrey at the height of Jim Carrey. This was what, one year after he owned 1994 with Dumb & Dumber, The Mask, and Ace Ventura? His name on the marquee alone gave an entire portion of the audience an immediate idea of what to expect from him in the film and they came in droves because of his previous work. And Jim was definitely TRYING with what it is that he had to work with. There wasn't the added pressure of trying to top Jack like when Ledger and Hamill got his role; he just had to top Gorshin which in and of itself is not an easy thing to do because he owned that role as well. Arnold was great as a bad guy in the movie, the first time he played a villain, but the problem is that it more than 'Forever' was a toy commercial and nothing else. 'Forever had more going for it.

              >"I cannot sanction your buffoonery"
Why is this so fricking funny? I think it's because I'm imagining Tommy delivering this to him completely straight laced while Jim is just there giving him the frickin jazz hands or something.

Its because its old-school language because of Jones' age and it was also a very succinct summary of Jim Carrey. I also know people who don't subscribe to that manic, zany humour and to give official permission or approval for behavioir that is ridiculous however amusing it may be for others is a level Jones wasn't willing to pretend to stoop to anymore years after the film came out.
