He can turn his body into rubber (or have the same effect with Haki) to stop him from regenerating. That's the only thing I can think of.
Haki is a pretty hard counter to shapeshifters, since it can both let the user damage them, or just straight up overpower them in a battle of wills. Hell, even the limited precognition haki gives is a pretty big advantage, since it would make it harder for Plas to exploit his more gimmicky win cons (disguising himself, slithering into Luffy's body). Not saying Luffy 100% wins, but he's a somewhat rare character that has the tools to take Plastic Man down without being severely out of his weight class.

The Plague was a radiation born illness that resulted from the Ray Sphere going off. Calling it a "virus" is disingenuous at best. And it's nowhere near as central to the plot as the Blacklight Virus is to Prototype.
As I said, they were kind of memed on for both being open world sandboxes featuring super powered protagonists released around the same time. That's where the similarities end and any sort of "rivalry" quickly dissipated as the two franchises were completely different (that includes the original games).
Also DMC and GoW don't have a rivalry, mostly since GoWgays don't play other action games.

I'll admit this is more of a US thing, but it is one of the only "major" fighting game series that Street Fighter hasn't crossed over with yet. They've done it with SNK and Namco already, and Guilty Gear and BlazBlue are more compared to each other or, if to a CAPCOM fighter at all, Darkstalkers.
Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat were also considered the "Big Two" of American arcades back in the 90s, at least as far as fighting games were concerned.

Same reason Dante vs Bayonetta was rigged in favor of the former. Erza, Bayo, and Claire do deserve to beat Zoro, Dante, and Guts. But they are probably afraid of another Lara vs Nathan and Thor vs WW situation. It's hard to tell when a woman can get away with killing a more popular male figure. Lucy is more of an exception, rather than the rule.
The issue with Clare is that if she already ties at least with Guts using her awakened form, with her Teresa power-up she vaporizes Guts. Anime Clare is around Guts's level, but manga Clare stomps.

Made a list of why some Death Battles were wrong, and in Erza's case it was more due to bad timing, similar to Doomguy. If a new rematch with an accurate and updated research were to be done nowadays, Doomguy and Erza would win their fights. They probably thought they were making the right call back then, and didn't imagine that both losers were going to get wanked harder than their opponents after their respective Death Battles.
With Tifa, Bayo, and Gaara it was just them being obstinate to give the more popular underdog the win. Hiei vs Sasuke is another more recent example of this. Well, Tifa's loss was more due to shilling RWBY/RT. That period of Death Battle was pretty bad, considering we also had Bowser vs Ganondorf and Tracer vs Scout following those.
The only fight which I considered wrong from around that period, but that maybe it was right all along, it's Mewtwo vs Shadow. Metwo has been getting wanked in weird ways after that fight. Back then, it was a stomp in Shadow's favor though. Nowadays, not sure who wins.

Yang's match did more damage than favors to RWBY, and Blake's didn't help. While Weiss's Death Battle didn't have any effect at all. Our fandom just likes to make fun of how rigged the Tifa match was, but that's pretty much it. No one ever talks about the other two matches at all. SHAFT and Good Smile has done way more good for RWBY (maybe also Arcsys), than Death Battle ever could.
Nobody hates Berserk. It's just that Guts gets overwanked hard due to his popularity alone, despite him being a very down-to-earth character. There's a reason anons don't look forward anymore for 3D fights. Now more than ever, people are fine with those being limited to house or street tier participants.
We just recognize the presently limited skillset of the primary 3D animators. They could still do great projectile-based fights. I would unironically trust them with something like Dumbledore vs Gandalf, or Magneto vs Accelerator, or VOTOM vs Timber Wolf from Mechwarrior. As long as they don't have to do anything melee, they're still okay.
