By introducing uninteresting plotlines. The Chens are boring, Jinx as the main villain sounds boring, Scratch being the new chairman hasn't been interesting and the Megastore was used for one episode where it wasn't even the focus. The only thing I'm kinda interested in is Scratch's past. Season 2 just doesn't have the same magic as Season 1 for me.

There's a bunch of episodes where molly is trying hard to do something for her fmaily or friends, overworks herself and fricks up, and then the other characters are like "Oh, Molly, we didn't knew you tried so hard!"
I don't think the second season "tanked" the show but its clear something was missing all together that prevented this show from being a solid hit. It had all the right ingredients, but was never brought together correctly.
Biggest problem right out the gate is that they took fricking forever to get season 1 airing, and then finished writing season 2 by the time the show was first airing. This is why Bald and Bankrupt keep saying "Maybe in season 3" to all the cool ideas fans wanted. They were never given time to read their audience until it was too late. I can't blame them for not foreseeing someone like Tammy being a breakout character for instance, or the huge popularity of Molly/Libby/Andrea as a friendship trio, but if they had been given a little time, they at least might've had her reappear in the Turnipball episode instead of snubbing her completely.
This show also made some really pointless status quo changes around the season 1-2 transition, that ultimately hurt the show. After a string of relatively top tier episodes late in season 1, they killed the chairman (without really building him up sufficiently to even justify his killing, the ghost council did most of the evil shit) and then immediately at the start of season 2 introduce the Chens, who despite being ghost hunters aren't at all really competent or threatening, Ollie's romance with Molly is forced, poorly written, and makes Molly look shallow. Scratch's past is the only interesting bread crumb they really have right now but the leaked episode "Many Faces of Scratch" didn't reveal jack shit. There is also a frickton of recycled material, outfits, and episodes where they never leave the house, which points to budget issues.
If I have to point to blame, I'd say two showrunners (plus the Pedo House b***h) is a case of too many cooks.

Good shows don't need to advertise and shill themselves in other show's threads. They will get an audience organically like TGAMM did. I feel like despite the superiority act by Hildagays, deep down they know their show is just a different type of mediocre, yet TGAMM was still able to attract drawfriends and other content makers, while no one gives a shit about Hilda besides ryona gays. Season 2 really doesn't know what it wants to be. Even in season 1 the show already couldn't stand on its own as a comedy and was held together by points like the misery meter, Molly's developing friendships, and how Libby and Andrea's characters change but all that's gone now thanks to continuity.
The plot points supposed to replace those like Molly's boyfriend, Bizmart shaking up Brighton, and Scratch's backstory aren't at all relevant in most episodes: Ollie isn't appearing in the Christmas special, everything Bizmart will happen off screen, and we've had only two Scratch lorebait episodes so far so why even watch? What exactly is the hook that to keep people watching?
there don't seem to be any antagonists. the council was killed off and now its just 1 mean ghost sometimes. the bully character became her friend and the supposed ghost hunters suck at ghost hunting. Everyone is Molly's friend now, so she can't even cry about being a loser and have dreams of popularity. Reminds me of Watamote, with both just turning into lesbian baiting for views.

Shows usually tank at season 3 for me, but I have felt far less joy this season of Molly McGee.
My pet theory is that it's almost always bloat. Successful shows attract people who chase success, rather than create it. So ideas and visions become diluted and manipulated by latecomers who want to remold things to their liking.

Molly McGee was not, and suffers for it.
I don't even get the Hilda and Molly rivalry, the shows are almost nothing alike and aren't even on the same channel/streaming service. At least the Hilda and Reggie rivalry sort of made sense with them both being Netflix things and the forced Rei/Asuka comparisons.

Molly McGee was always a weird show that didn’t really have its premise done correctly. I felt the ghosts were never the fandoms interest but it couldn’t really handle the slice of life well either
Wasn’t really a hook for viewers > no lorehomosexualry for loregays > no shiphomosexualry for shipgays
What was the shows purpose? Who was it for? It felt like the fandom was fine with it just being about Molly, Libby, and Andrea having adventures and Molly trying to fit in but this jsut felt meandering and lost somewhere along the way. A really aimless and directionless show that just went nowhere.
I’m not saying it needs it to be successful you moron, I’m saying this is what draws in fans. Loregays and shipgays were drawn to Molly McGee for this reason. Now let me say it slowly again so you can understand this you mongoloid, it didn’t need to be a ship/loreshit show, but it needed something else to keep these viewers who thought it would be that. But Molly McGee had nothing to offer it’s audiences who left from boredom and lack of interest after awhile.
The show presented itself as a wacky comedy and thats what it is. It’s not forced to appeal to people who expect it to be something it’s not. You have a pretty autistic perspective on this entire show.

Thank you anon, you are not moronic, you are intelligent and articulated what I meant to say more succinctly. As a show Molly McGee was very mediocre. It was spread across multiple directions without really being good at any of them, so viewers didn’t have an reason to stay.
It’s biggest flaw is that some episodes miss the mark on the comedy, but that’s far from the worse thing that can happen to a show. People are oddly obsessed with this show in particular due to their fanfics and ships being “ruined”.
The leaked episodes were good too, seems like the second half of S2 will be better than the first. The opposite of S1.
>thousands of horror movies with rich girl/pretty girl protagonists to parody >thousands of movies about horror comedies and adventure stories involving ghosts >tons of movies involving found footage sequences they could've easily used to make episodes with Andrea as a streamer >do nothing with the concept >just make her a dyke instead with a fat self-insert OC, have episodes about periods, and celebrating the culture of israelites
At its core it just wasn’t a show built on the premise of ghosts or spooky/horror. The ghost stuff felt poorly integrated and its fandom was a mix of owl House/gravity falls gays who were chasing the loreshit and shipping and weren’t interested after too long. Basically the creators made a show with no identity and purpose, with a fandom split between sub groups who all wanted different things they never got. A show for no one, with no purpose or reason to exist
he's not even saying it needs to be loreshit or whatever, but that's what the show is trying to do very half assedly. Bald and Bankrupt should've just made a formulaic monster of the week series but they were too fricking moronic

Honesty if the show was about Andrea being mollys ghost I think would’ve liked it a lot more. It would’ve actually been a little darker and maybe you could do more with the ghost stuff
I'm honestly surprised I've never seen it grow in popularity. I figured people would watch it just for Dana Synder alone but I guess it just never caught on. I'm sad Amphibia gets 3 seasons (yes, I know it was planned for 3) and Molly only gets two.
>love Molly in the first season >S2 it just was kind of okay, still liked it >now it's a slog and I want it to end
They could've just went the horror route and done so many things, but didn't, well at least it gave us Libby and Ollie, both of which I'd utterly destroy in the sack.
Like all these Disney shows as of late, they set up a simple classic cartoon idea, le whacky girl and ghost adventures in this case, but try to make it more that, end up airing what should be the finale early and then have no direction on where to go from there.
This is a show that actually needed to have the status quo to function.
As someone that loved the first season, I just feel S2 is just lacking in a few ways. It's not terrible, but it just seems a hodge-podge of ideas that they couldn't fit into S1. I really just don't care about the Chens or Jinx.
It seems they made S1 with the possible expectation that there might not be any more, so all the big story lines (Molly being accepted in Brighton, Scratch no longer being bound to Molly, the Chairman being defeated) were taken care of there. S2 seems more like, "Okay, now what?" It makes me skeptical how good a hypothetical S3 would even have been.
What happened?
Apparently every anon is blaming the fact picrel is in lesbians with some fatty instead of Molly.

Honesty if the show was about Andrea being mollys ghost I think would’ve liked it a lot more. It would’ve actually been a little darker and maybe you could do more with the ghost stuff
At least we'd get a backstory and why she'd stick around Brighton
If I had to rewrite the show, I'd honestly make Andrea the protagonist.
Companies only greenlit shows with protagonists that fit certain archetypes
Why?
Molly should have legit accidentally killed Andrea in episode 1 and the show would be Andrea as the Ghost haunting Molly
yfw "The End" still ends on a sequel hook for a season 3 that will never happen
I'm honestly surprised I've never seen it grow in popularity. I figured people would watch it just for Dana Synder alone but I guess it just never caught on. I'm sad Amphibia gets 3 seasons (yes, I know it was planned for 3) and Molly only gets two.
>love Molly in the first season
>S2 it just was kind of okay, still liked it
>now it's a slog and I want it to end
They could've just went the horror route and done so many things, but didn't, well at least it gave us Libby and Ollie, both of which I'd utterly destroy in the sack.
I don't know, you tell me.
Like all these Disney shows as of late, they set up a simple classic cartoon idea, le whacky girl and ghost adventures in this case, but try to make it more that, end up airing what should be the finale early and then have no direction on where to go from there.
This is a show that actually needed to have the status quo to function.
They didn't take this from you because they never gave it to you in the first place.

Here’s the leaked episode
What show is this?
Your mom’s dick
Very funny hahaha. Can you tell me the name of the show?
You don’t spoonfeed morons, you let them die off
You should spoonfeed me
No.
It's a good idea
It’s not
It is
Is not
The name of this show has been mentioned multiple times in this fricking thread you braindead pile of shit.
I did not see it as I was scrolling. What's the name? I'll check how where I missed it.
Read the thread, moron.
I clicked the pictures and read some of the words that were around them, didn't find the name.
Fricking moron.
Ok, found the name. The show is called Andrea. Thanks for nothing.
Took you long enough.
They should've added a plot about the original Andrea haunting current Andrea as a ghost.
That’s going to be the plot for the Amphibia sequel
As someone that loved the first season, I just feel S2 is just lacking in a few ways. It's not terrible, but it just seems a hodge-podge of ideas that they couldn't fit into S1. I really just don't care about the Chens or Jinx.
It seems they made S1 with the possible expectation that there might not be any more, so all the big story lines (Molly being accepted in Brighton, Scratch no longer being bound to Molly, the Chairman being defeated) were taken care of there. S2 seems more like, "Okay, now what?" It makes me skeptical how good a hypothetical S3 would even have been.
Don't mind the typo by the way.
I don't see the appeal of a rich alpha b***h girl that is a vtuber.
