No. Superman turns back time in the sequel, too.

There's no way you didn't know that was a disingenuous argument, so either you're really into shitposting or you're THAT much of a slavish Snyder fanboy. Either way, you're pretty pitiful

Don't worry anon. In the theatrical cut, Zod just died and was never brought back. In the TV cut, that came later, yeah Zod survived, sometimes. Depending on the channel.

Probably because you keep referring to one cut of the movie where Superman doesn't go back in time, then brush off anon talking about a more extended cut in which Superman does go back in time.
All just to ignore that in the original movie Zod dies and no time travel saves him.

The official theatrical cut that the studio released, yes. It's quite reasonable to accept this as the canon story. If anything, it's up to you and anon to explain why a: >slapdash, direct-to-video cut >by a director who was fired from the original project >and, by said director's admission, still does not fully realize his intended vision
Should be considered a valid source for the film's plot.

Well then. Guess that settles it. Zod died in Superman 2.

I mean, I didn't see his corpse, and no acknowledgement of his ceasing to be, unlike Snyderman...but if that's your perspective, I will let you have it
No it's okay you see because Superman turns back time and so Zod doesn't die. Understand that it's perfectly fine to kill people as long as you can undo it. Death doesn't matter, and Superman should behave as such. It's completely and totally normal, and human, to start romancing up your love interest after killing a guy.
It's sooo weird for you to scream and anguish afterwards and cling to her for support in a moment of weakness. No one would act that way after killing someone else.
>bros like why didn't Superman just politely ask the genocidal maniac to fight somewhere outside the city? >bros like why did Superman kill the genocidal maniac who was also a super soldier and was slowly becoming stronger than Superman?
>Zod goes to the Kent farm for Joe El’s ship >Threatens his mom (and the Earth) >Superman gets mad >Is also fighting 2 other people who’ve spent their whole lives training and being soldiers for the first time >Gets reasonably overwhelmed
The Smallville criticism is somewhat reasonable, but blaming Superman for Metropolis is bullshit.
IF everything had been the same but Zod had been sucked into the phantom zone or committed suicide out of despair things would have been better. Superman doesn't kill no exceptions, regardless of context, full stop. That's literally the only standard you have to meet to make a tolerable Superman and they fricked it up
He's still not a beacon of hope in the film and all his actions just make the world worst. If you conflate moody distance with being serious a respectful, I don't know want to tell you.
I actually would like a Superman movie which has a kind of dark "grounded" type aesthetic, but with the Superman character himself as a bright saturated character, contrasted from his surroundings.
But yeah, Man Of Steel is just a depressing movie with a depressing take on Superman
None of the Smallville actors were that bad. They shouldn't have made Superman Returns or Man Of Steel, they should have instead started a movie series that spins off of Smallville with Tom Welling as Superman
Too late now...
Superhomosexuals wish Superman is as popular as Batman but that is a reality that's no longer possible. Superman is a updated and irrelevant relic of the past while Batman is continuing to innovate.
HiTop is a massively pretentious homosexual so don't listen to his opinion. I stopped following him after he had an absolutely hysterical and whiny reaction to Far From Home of all things
Exactly, it was so fricking embarrassing and pretentious. It's one thing to not like an average MCU movie, but he acts like it stole all his money, blew up his home, and killed his family. It's just a movie for christ's sake
I'm a cartoongay, so can someonw explain why this board so obsessed with Superman fans? Seeing 2 or 3 threads crying about Superman fans every time I come to Cinemaphile is sad.

doesn't Superman have 5 Real Superman movies?
he probably means modern movie because back then theres cap movie but its basically straight-to-tv film so theres only 2 superman returns and man of steel
>Get the perfect Superman movie.
>Moan like b***hes.
That costume looks like it was bedazzled.
>perfect Superman movie
>he breaks a guys neck after destroying a city
Oh do you prefer Superman 2, where Clark kills Zod and then immediately tries talking up Lois?
I think people actually prefer good Superman Movies. Probably why Thor: Dark World crept up on MoS.
Clark doesn’t kill Zod in Superman II
Oh yeah he does. He needs to go back in time to undo it.
Death means nothing to the callous Superman of 1978 (1980).

Then… what the hell is this?
No it's okay you see because Superman turns back time and so Zod doesn't die. Understand that it's perfectly fine to kill people as long as you can undo it. Death doesn't matter, and Superman should behave as such. It's completely and totally normal, and human, to start romancing up your love interest after killing a guy.

>bros like why didn't Superman just politely ask the genocidal maniac to fight somewhere outside the city?

Superman literally dragged the fight to smallville don't tell he doesn't pick the dance floor
>Zod goes to the Kent farm for Joe El’s ship
>Threatens his mom (and the Earth)
>Superman gets mad
>Is also fighting 2 other people who’ve spent their whole lives training and being soldiers for the first time

>Oh no, a character and story have real stakes and moral ambiguity how terrible.
Heroes don't kill Superman can never kill
Superdaddygays deserve Black person Superman
No. Black Superman isn't happening. Snyder and Cavill forever.
>Lex Luthor real estate scheme
no.
IF everything had been the same but Zod had been sucked into the phantom zone or committed suicide out of despair things would have been better. Superman doesn't kill no exceptions, regardless of context, full stop. That's literally the only standard you have to meet to make a tolerable Superman and they fricked it up
No that'd be a dumb cop-out ending so forced it'd make Aniken look weak.
*Anakin
>symbol of hope
>movie is almost black and white
lmao
Yeah man, almost like it represents that he's a beacon in a dark world, but you're too inauthentic to recognize that
Clark is moody and dreary like the rest of the world. He's no light at the end of the tunnel in this movie.
No, he's serious and treats the end of the world with the respect it deserves.
He's still not a beacon of hope in the film and all his actions just make the world worst. If you conflate moody distance with being serious a respectful, I don't know want to tell you.
>worst
It's worse.
I actually would like a Superman movie which has a kind of dark "grounded" type aesthetic, but with the Superman character himself as a bright saturated character, contrasted from his surroundings.
But yeah, Man Of Steel is just a depressing movie with a depressing take on Superman
This, Actually have the people around him be cynical but through his actions be brings the best out of everyone by just being himself.
You know that could be good, but I'd like a scene where his brightness sort of infects everyone else. Kind of like the Pleasantville movie.
Dumbass cope, keep grittiness to Batman, Superman stories are supposed to make you feel good
None of the Smallville actors were that bad. They shouldn't have made Superman Returns or Man Of Steel, they should have instead started a movie series that spins off of Smallville with Tom Welling as Superman
Too late now...
Facts, too bad Welling didn't want to be immortalized as Superman even in Smallville
>basketball costume
MAN OF MURDER
>perfect Superman movie
>acts nothing like Superman
explain
You serious?
As serious as Zod's snapped neck
Oh I'm so sorry. I had no idea you were moronic.
I think you're misunderstanding me, I think Snyder is a hack.
Snyder fans are even worse
>Get the perfect Superman movie.
>Moan like b***hes.
Superhomosexuals wish Superman is as popular as Batman but that is a reality that's no longer possible. Superman is a updated and irrelevant relic of the past while Batman is continuing to innovate.
Why are Superman haters so insecure?
there's been plenty, not to mention countless animated adaptation
it's time to give characters who aren't boring c**ts a chance
Because we've been raped for the past 25 years
Legitimately. Star Trek fans get treated better than Superman fans
HiTop is a massively pretentious homosexual so don't listen to his opinion. I stopped following him after he had an absolutely hysterical and whiny reaction to Far From Home of all things

christ. ive never seen someone ween so hard over a fricking spider-man movie ever. frick this guy

>"Can Superman have a movie, please?"

what
How to make a Superman movie: remake Disney Hercules but with Superman
Not as pathetic as a incel making a thread about the subject
