Please, just watch the Wicker Man from the '70s.
It's simultaneously far shorter and more happens in it, is better executed, and is a story, not a metastory.
Decent music, too.
Are you black with manufactured fear of white people? I can't imagine anyone find this anti-white propaganda garbage made by israelite in any way scary(unless the fear comes from the fact that it's an anti-white israeli propaganda)
>Please, just watch the Wicker Man from the '70s. >It's simultaneously far shorter and more happens in it, is better executed, and is a story, not a metastory. >Decent music, too.
THIS
I stayed away from this movie because I always thought it was YASSS QUEEEN shit but its actually a poignant, well shot film that deals with weak people in relationships who aren't strong enough to break it off
The metaphor was successfully delivered, it did a good job at that, as I'm sure it was the directors intended message.
But as a horror movie it utterly failed, the runtime inverse to the fear instilled until everyone in the room was howling with laughter at the final scenes... which I assume was not the directors intent.
I dont know about filter, since it was pretty meh
But autists here sure didnt figre it out because they think pugh was intended to be good and the ending happy or something, rather than her going insane spiteful murderer and being indoctrinated into a cult
>But autists here sure didnt figre it out because they think pugh was intended to be good and the ending happy or something,
they see a woman smiling, it makes them mad. simple as
>there no sister
Remind me what you are referring to.
The sister killed herself and the parents and the boyfriend took pity and allowed her to come on the trip where she wasn't wanted. All the reddit cucks and trannies use this as justification for what he deserved to be burned alive.
>The sister killed herself and the parents
this is such a fricking insane minor detail to a character but obviously its used through out the movie but still. Kind of hope they explored the suicide
>boohoo my shiksa gentile ex dumped by goofy ginger ass, let's make a movie cursing her >boohoo straddled between assimilation into hosts vs. full blown kibbutzcore temptations >haha Hyperborean land of the midnight sun is hell
They undersold the twist there's no sister and the cliff scene is the confirmation; open mouth smiling dead mother good, closed grim father bad 'Mood piece' and 'ambience' are dodges for suboptimal editing and structure. It's peak everything meant by A24 as an insult, particularly being holistically half baked while having some potential to be good that isn't satisfactorily executed.
So are you saying she killed her parents and left with her boyfriend?

I'd watch a race swapped version about some dumb frick middle class American blacks that go to an African tribe to find their "roots" and bring along some white guilt leftist sociology student. Instead of mushrooms they can eat the pineal gland from some strange African marmot
It's crazy how much this movie filtered Cinemaphile and all the lib A24 hoes who love it. If this movie was supposed to be anti-white it completely failed and god used Asters hand to make the greatest case for the importance homologous white communities that's ever been done in a film
I thought it appealed too much to white Californians. Hereditary was much better.
Plus the mere fact Hereditary exists automatically makes it shit in your mind because you have that expectation.
If I watched Midsommar first I probably would have said it's good and I liked it, but Hereditary is better, but I watched Hereditary first which therefore ruined my perception through expectations.
It just wasn't that smart of a movie compared to Hereditary. They didn't play into her sister enough, it was more like "hey look these native europeans are weird" which they really are in real life. I wouldn't be surprised if there were still cannibal tribes in northern Europe.
There are stories in my family from our ancestors about how Germans used to come through the woods and would steal people to rape them and eat their flesh.
Were they actually evil? They just seemed like average weirdo europeans to me
I mean the guy literally pissed all over their sacred tree... WHICH WAS BASED STUPID FRICKING EUROPEANS AND THEIR DUMBASS TREES
>Were they actually evil?
I didn't think they were until the last scene where they promise the people who offered to scaerfice themselves. They promised them they'd feel no pain, then one of them starts to get burned alive and screams in horror
Because it’s theme about it being a break up movie was fine, but if you’re going to do that it’s best to make both parties real characters, instead Aster made the boyfriend an idiot and for good measure he steals his friends paper to make him a deliberate butthole. As stated many times in these threads, him being scared to break up with her makes sense given how emotional she was.
it filtered intelligent people. idiots gobbled it up. also florence pugh is gross fat pig. frick.
This was one movie where she actually looked decent
i only watched it for her and she did not disappoint.
imagine if it was her in the love shack and all the men got to put their seed into her garden
Please, just watch the Wicker Man from the '70s.
It's simultaneously far shorter and more happens in it, is better executed, and is a story, not a metastory.
Decent music, too.
>just watch this classic that's only similar in the most general sense
Or maybe you could watch and enjoy both.
Midsommar is unenjoyable though. Just watch Wicker Man
NTA, I enjoyed both.
NTA. You are a fricking liar. Wicker Man is genuinely creepy. Midsommar is tryhard AF.
Why would I lie about enjoying a film?
Midsommar is one of the greatest horror films ever made. You just have bad taste.
>Midsommar is one of the greatest horror films ever made. You just have bad taste.

THIS
Wickerman has a believable cult that was sequestered and grew on its own. Midsommar is like a staged Abercrombie & Fitch vacay of that idea.
Hell, watch the Nic Cage remake rather than this as well
This.
>Or maybe you could watch and enjoy bo-ACK
There's no nude redhead pubes in Wicked Man tho
only filtered /misc/tards. i thought it was pretty good, definitely better than hereditary
I stayed away from this movie because I always thought it was YASSS QUEEEN shit but its actually a poignant, well shot film that deals with weak people in relationships who aren't strong enough to break it off

especially once they got to the boyfriend wearing the bear corpse like a suit
It started creepy enough but by that scene the room exploded with lulz
I dont know about filter, since it was pretty meh

this is such a fricking insane minor detail to a character but obviously its used through out the movie but still. Kind of hope they explored the suicide
So are you saying she killed her parents and left with her boyfriend?
The fat pigs sister killed herself and their parents and then the depressed father pig was allowed to come on the trip.
>father pig
*fat fricking pig
What? Are you saying the sister didn't or did do it?
Yes, she did it.
I enjoyed the hurtful little pokes it took at swedish heritage
such as?
they have a tick problem, are druggies plant leg gardens and have poor cooking habits not to mention they inbreed
Sorry, I don't watch soi horror.

Rewrite this because it sounds schizo enough to have some novel wisdom for me.
>there no sister
Remind me what you are referring to.
Btw this movie is worshipped by female zoomers, feminists and tumblrinas on tiktok
>i base my opinions about film on who likes it and who doesn't
pathetic

>Why did it filter so many people?
Because Florence Pugh is unwatchable. Replace her with Kstew and the film is an undeniable classic.
Because people have already seen both versions of The Wickerman.
>its not a horror movie!
No feddy fazballz? No 5 starz
I still don't get what happened to the parents in the beginning. but maybe it's just been too long since I watched it so
the sister ran car exhaust into everyone's bedrooms iirc
yes but why? why did she sperg out? was it related with the schizo sorcery that comes later?
I keep wondering if people realize the movie was about a girl's experience going to college.
It was a coming of age movie with metaphors.
>israeli neuroses: the movie
just like every ari aster film. so gay
Wasn't the movie actually against israeli-american culture and pro nativism?
shut up israelite
>nice European white people are really evil
>bright instead of dark
Shit was boring to watch and pretentious as frick
Were they actually evil? They just seemed like average weirdo europeans to me
I mean the guy literally pissed all over their sacred tree... WHICH WAS BASED STUPID FRICKING EUROPEANS AND THEIR DUMBASS TREES
Okay maybe not evil, but stereotypical crazy cultists
No more crazy or dangerous than muslims or christians and frankly even atheists.
God I wish Christians were this crazy. They're fricking cucks who lets everybody piss all over their traditions
>Were they actually evil?
I didn't think they were until the last scene where they promise the people who offered to scaerfice themselves. They promised them they'd feel no pain, then one of them starts to get burned alive and screams in horror
They also kill the people who didn’t do anything. You can here the enthic Indian chick who just wanted to leave being drowned off screen in a scene.
>Were they actually evil?
Do you not remember what happened to the other friends the 2 main people came with?
it's a good movie. anons on Cinemaphile are retroactively shitting on it because florence flatboob has turned into a moron post-success
I thought it was okay. My main gripe was her fish eyed boyfriend. He legit took me out of every scene he was in. Also I love Florence Pudge.
Personally, I liked the Lighthouse a lot better.
florence pudge/flat booba is a good actress she has just become interminable because she knows it and Hollywood is wanking over her incessantly
>movie about natives tormenting city slickers
(-:
>movie about white natives tormenting city slickers
D-:<
>GF proposes we watch it
>know that I act like the guy that ends up shoved into a bear so I just say it's a shit movie and we watch something else

the opening is scary as frick
the rest of the movie is unimpressive
florence pig
