>threaded cane-like weapon in the climax >costumes >general atmosphere >literal blurred line between man and beast theme
You're moronic.
You're gonna have to be way more subtle than this.
I hear morons say shit like this but it’s evident they’ve never bothered to watch this steaming pile of shit
The character aesthetic in the first 10 minutes of the film are literally the only similarities and that’s just based on actual historical Hunter attire.
The movie is about how the church makes up fake monsters to hide its scandals, the monster isn’t even real. It’s just a shitty Scooby doo episode set in early modern france.
If you like Bloodborne and its themes you will find nothing even remotely enjoyable about this movie. The only part that Bloodborne took from it was the cover art

If pic related was the cover art, people would get it when I say : “this isn’t even remotely similar to Bloodborne”

But the monster is actually real...they are just mistaken about it's identity at first. Also the people behind it were rogue Noblemen in cahoots with gypsies, not the Church. The well endowed Monica Bellucci was actually a Church spy and was recruiting people to put the Brotherhood down
Brotherhood of the Wolf inspired Bloodborne, not this.
Let down by this too. The tiger shit was lame.
I like it a lot. Great locations, and it's got a little bit of everything, mystery, fighting, romance. It's the little action movie that could. The kind of thing that can't be made anymore. Also really hot women.
Anon, Bloodborne was inspired by a specific period in victorian medicine specifically in reference to the development of anesthetic drugs and the advent of new surgical techniques they allow. Some guy did like a 15 hour video essay on it and it's so fricking thorough and backed up by quotes directly from the developers that its conclusion aren't even debatable.
Seriously, I know it's a lot of of content but anyone who's into the game should take the time to watch it because, again it's less of a fan theory than an exhaustive explanation of everything that inspired the games. Dude delved DEEP
The main influence for Dracula was just blood transfusion, literally it’s the most important talking point of the entire novel. It’s nonstop. Shitty book but similar influences it seems
This is untrue and false. Maybe the backgrounds look dated, but for the time, it was excellent. And even now it holds up as some of the greatest monster effects of all time. It's got the coolest Frankenstein, and the coolest dracula and the coolest mr. hyde. The art design is fantastic especially all the scenes at the castle lab. Machine gun crossbow was completely mind bending at 12 years old and it's still cool today. Horny monk David Wenham.
> for the time, it was excellent
Some of the effects were considered good, others were considered bad. Overall it was considered very excessive and inconsistent >Machine gun crossbow was completely mind bending at 12 years old
And there we have it
The narrative was pretty muddled, and none of the characters mattered except Helsing and hot chick. Dracula was ok but not enough screen time. In The Mummy all the characters were good and the plot was mostly pretty tight.
>6.1 on IMDB >24% rotten from critics, and 57% rotten on rotten tomatoes >underperformed at the box office >not at all fondly remembered by normalgays, unlike the mummy today
But I know, I know. >T-THAT DOESNT COUNT, CHUD!!!
Which should really say something. Like them or not they were successful enough that they made five of them.

Sure but that doesn't change the fact that she thinks she's too good for one vampire slop and not the other.

She got married to the director of one and made them with friends and family so it’s not shocking that she might view them differently. Van Helsing didn’t seem to do anyone any favours.
>ywn be an immortal 6'2 long haired handsome renegade angel with spinning blades, fully automatic crossbow, a sick trench coat, a dope hat and the coolest werewolf form ever seen
The movie itself wasn't bad, but the CGI was horribly outdone by other films released in the same decade including similar ones like Underworld. It's a comfy watch.
Loved it and still do. Comfy Soul monster kino with great production values and not one but four hot ladies. It also had some great set design as well. A whole village was built, had the movie been successful they could have turned it as a theme park.
they didn't. but they should. it was cheap shlock.
great tiddies tho
when i was a teen this shyt rocked, literally inspiration for bloodborne vidya game
Brotherhood of the Wolf inspired Bloodborne, not this.
This movie is unadulterated hot garbage and is nothing like Bloodborne in any capacity
You're gonna have to be way more subtle than this.

Creator literally admitted it: https://wccftech.com/hidetaka-miyazaki-says-bloodborne-is-still-his-favorite-game-explains-its-influences/amp/
It's bait or a moron. Likely both. They share goddamned themes with each other.

Did you actually watch it?
There's one outfit that looks like Bloodborne, they most likely dug into the plethora of other Victorian era supernatural stuff that already existed.
>MC gets cucked by having the main love interest get raped by her own brother
very bloodborne
More than Van Helsing
God I fricking hate this overrated kung fu dogshit
>was looking forward to watching this for reasons I can’t even remember
>these replies
Oh no.

terrible cgi unfortunately

Mr. Hyde was a laughingstock that was unfavorably compared to Shrek on release.

The "My turn!" yell from the Mr. Hyde fight is stuck in my brain and I think of it at least once a week. Also boobs and crossbow gun.
>THE MUMMY CHEESE CRINGE GOOD! VAN HELSING CHEESE FUN BAD!
What the frick is wrong with millennialcucks?

Female lead compared it to doing panto and called it a career killer that she shouldn’t have agreed to be in
>Underworld lead actress thinks she's above Van Helsing
lmao

wow what a stupid b***h, some people really are just moronic.
She’s not wrong
>6/10
>hated
your brain on Cinemaphile
Because they watched it and had a fricking shit time. Kate Beckinsale calls it ‘the career killer’
>ywn be an immortal 6'2 long haired handsome renegade angel with spinning blades, fully automatic crossbow, a sick trench coat, a dope hat and the coolest werewolf form ever seen
feels sad man
Because its fricking terrible
Huge Jacked Man is a homosexual and ruined Van Helsing
because it was just an action flick, in a time when movies aspired for more.
>hot chick dies a virgin without tasting the MCs wiener
this is why it failed.
i like a lot of it but so much is stupid too like warewolves being stronger than dracula and what the hell is up wit the dracula eggs lol
Not only is it raw kino, but it's also pure soul. no surprise the normcels couldn't handle it
I wish they still made movies like this
They still make shit movies anon
It's not the same
it's a fun movie with good sets and outfits what more could you ask for
The Dracula in the movie looks like a fricking dork. It unfortunately hurts the movie.
The movie itself wasn't bad, but the CGI was horribly outdone by other films released in the same decade including similar ones like Underworld. It's a comfy watch.

I liked It. I wanted a sequel.
it wasnt as good as I hoped it would be at the time but it was fun
