Why did they randomly put this soul crushing scene into the movie?

Cameron was the only reason I even liked this movie
same. ferris is not a likeable protagonist.
He's not really supposed to be.
He's more of a wish-fufillment character. He gets away with shit that you and I would likely get snagged for.
I agree that Cameron is the heart of the movie though. His parent's and his neurosis have him fricked and he's doomed.
>His parent's and his neurosis have him fricked and he's doomed.
Wasn't that the point of the ending when Cameron is going to take the fall for the car NOT because he wants to protect Ferris, but instead he wants to grow a spine for once in his life?
Ferris is a hero to Gen Xers, but a bully to Millennials. Lots of 80s movies are like that.
Yeah he's he best character in it
Ferris is in Cameron's head like Tyler Durden
yep
people who like hockey, probably
for real who wears a hockey sweater in public
Gordie Howe was based. Besides, he's sick and frumpy.
Always feels weird seeing younger McDavid now.
RIP Gordie Howe
idgaf they look nice
Black folk used to wear basketball jerseys all the time. Same with hispanics and baseball jerseys.
>THE BULLS ARE MUH TEAM
>HEY VATO, ITS ALL ABOUT THE DODGERS
I thought baseball was a white mans sport.
baseball has been a Hispanic sport since the 70s at least.
It is but dodger fans aren’t even human they’re dysgenic as frick
The 80s were the beginning of people's degenerating fashion standards
It's really only acceptable in two circumstances:
>you're about to attend a live hockey game or watch party
>you are a rap/r&b artist
If these circumstances do not apply, consider a hoodie or long sleeve tee instead
Fwoarrr
>hockey sweater
props to this bro fro knowing the right terminology.
impressive
"sweater", never "jersey"
Well shit, I just learned something. Thanks for pointing that out
'
I don’t know but a more distilled slice of kino I cannot recall
Test
I lost my virginity to this movie and now every time that scene comes on I get a boner
>soul crushing
What was so bad about it? Was this after the car got atomized or before? I haven't watched the movie in ages.
That was Cameron realizing that he’s never had a moment of love from his parents.
Other anon is moronic
Cameron's seeing himself reflected in the medium of pointillism, the medium being a bunch of meaningless dots that convey an image from far away. He's spent his whole life only doing what his parents tell him to and fears that anyone who looks close will realize he's meaningless and his life is utterly meaningless.
If you want soul crushing, look at Chicago now.
>oh no, more buildings!
This is a terrible thing to complain about, if anything whine about all the parking lots like the rest of your kind does.
Oh no, they destroyed the pristine beauty of... *checks notes* ...Chicago!
fake
It's actually real. Happened in Taiwan. The little girl survived with minor injuries.
>minor injuries
I see what you did
have a nice day
Windy City babeeeee
>they took the pic a little bit to the right with a wider lens that shows everything around that road? AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! SAVE ME!!! SAVE ME!!!!
It doesn't look that bad. I was fully expecting a detroit-tier post-apocalyptic wasteland with Black folk everywhere when I opened the pic.
>superimposes the wrong angle
???
pretty comfy to me
>no people
unicorn shot in some rich neighborhood
literally my neighborhood gay. need me to stage some people for you?
rich neighborhoods in texas easily mog that liberal hell hole.
>le piss filter sun
I've always lived rural or in dilapidated suburbs and pictures like this fill me with a visceral fear and rage. How can anyone live in a place like this and maintain their humanity? I'd rather live in a city and I fricking hate cities.
>need to drive a car 2 hours if you want to buy some groceries
wtf america
very soul crushing
>le skyline
Of all the things you could've complained about Chicago, you choose the fricking skyline
>Why did they randomly put this soul crushing scene into the movie?
Rumor says that day of filming is the day John Hughes found out he had cancer but never told anyone
This would make a lot of sense if true. Cameron’s entire character is such a drag
>how about that prick's face when he saw the GYATT
I was really dumb as a kid and i thought he was looking at the girls mouth because he was sick and he felt like he was going to throw up.
Me in the back right
Let my Cameron gooooooooo
the protags were all spoiled rotten babies tbh.
youre just mad youre not white
youre just mad youre not israeli
I am white thoughever
don't see how that's relevant
Yes, it's a John Hughes movie.
>Close up on painting of little girls mouth
Victorian bros loved large brappers so much that this was not only socially acceptable but fashionable. Amazing.
>women lying as always about what's under the trunk
how did he get away with it
impressive that he was able to get away with it without having to become a troony
Oh, yeah. Bruce Jenner killed someone with his car. I forgot just like the good goy that I am.
Because Seurat is based and Hughes wanted everyone to know
I think it's just one of the most prominent pieces at the Art Institute of Chicago. Personally I think Nighthawks would have been a better choice.
Where's the door to get in?
Cameron studies the painting and it starts with a wide shot, showing the entire thing. But the camera moves closer and closer into the image (Cameron’s POV) until the painting is reduced to just dots that don’t make up anything on their own. It’s Cameron’s realization that if anyone really looked close at him they’d realize that he’s just “dots” as well, that if anyone really studied him they’d realize he’s nothing.
Movie name? What’s it about?
Ferris Bueller's Day Off. It's about Ferris Bueller taking a day off.
Interesting. Can I rawdog you?
I've seen this painting and everyone just memes that scene all day. Plebs have ruined art once again.
Man I love the art institute in Chicago, I should do a visit there this spring.
most important scene in the movies, obvs
