i don't like dr. who but i don't make 50 threads a day shitting all over it for "fun". some of you gays aren't right in the head
Groupthink says so
Cinemaphile tweens feel the need to be against whatever is popular, it's a definitive part of their (lack of) identity until they grow up and grow enough balls to like things without consideration for what Cinemaphile/reddit/normies might think about it
This. Look at how they handled Covid, MGR, or any E-Celeb for example.
>Everybody was hyping up COVID to be some world ending bioweapon made by China all while digging up phone calls that help prove their narrative
>Suddenly the mainstream media s actually starts to agree
>n-no actually it was fake all along!!
>MGR is hyped up as an underrated kino and people constantly meme it
>MGR gets a huge boost in popularity
>w-well actually it was never good!! Reddit!! Reddit!!
I mean hell, look at the way they’re starting to treat the national socialist ideology that they claim to care oh so much about now. Since the ideology is amassing so much followers, so many people are starting to turn on it. Now anybody who brings up that shit is considered either Reddit or a /misc/tard.
>TL;DR, the website has no real values outside of being contrarian.
>Everybody was hyping up COVID to be some world ending bioweapon made by China all while digging up phone calls that help prove their narrative
>Suddenly the mainstream media s actually starts to agree
>n-no actually it was fake all along!!
That's not what happened. This is what happened:
>new disease outbreak in China
>We: seems concerning, we should prepare
>Them: STOP THE HATE. FEAR IS THE DISEASE. DON'T WEAR MASKS. HUG CHINESE PEOPLE.
>disease spreads to the West, collapsing healthcare
>We: we told you
>Them: QUICK, CLOSE EVERYTHING (too late)
>many old people die, healthcare adjusts to the new paradigm and can assume all new infected. Covid evolves and is less deadly than a regular flu.
>Meanwhile rushed experimental vaccine comes to the market with most of the new capital invested in PR to make up for the lack of proper effectiveness research
>We: no thanks
>Them: SAFE AND EFFECTIVE, GET VACCINATED OR YOU'LL DIE, WE'LL ALL DIE AAAAAARRRRRGGGG
Literally this. It was "cool" to shit on Rick and Morty and its fanbase because it was a cultural meme. It was pathetic to watch so many people get sheeped into black-and-white thinking instead of just forming their own opinions. Rick and Morty started to suck past season 2, but the exaggerated cringeyness of the fanbase was never a factor for anyone who appreciates art for its own sake.
not enough classic adventures!
Because it's funny without using Nazi references 24/7
because it's the R word, and I'm not talking about "moron".
I liked the first two seasons
I thought it was pretty good for an [AS] cartoon but I pretend to hate it on the internet to spite redditors
that and Dan Harmon is a massive homosexual and is actually the main reason the quality declined from season 3 and beyond
nah, its tim and eric shit, all helping to further erode as at the time, which was already suffering for a fricking decade. rick shit was more a final nail in the coffin than part of the actual problem. i miss when cartoon fridays still meant toonami and then a lineup of their original cartoons like dexter, ppg, and then we got the repeat of anime plus red blood
I don't understand what you're saying
Rick and Morty was wildly successful and practically saved williams street from being nothing but Family Guy and KotH reruns
Tim & Eric always sucked and normies didn't really like it either
Venture Bros and Metalocalypse were pretty good shows as well
cartoon cartoon fridays died because CN didn't invest in quality anymore for their original content and lost a bunch of talent to their competitors, and they did dumb shit like push live action blocks
anime was never profitable for the CN network as a whole as far as ratings, they just aired what Turner Broadcasting could snatch wholesale for cheap
>Rick and Morty was wildly successful
early immediate success means nothing especially in an age where everything is inflated to seem like its the event of the century
venture bros and metalopyse were decent though i'm not a huge fan. they certainly didn't cause problems
tim and eric though, thats where it all started to go wrong. they took the meta of 'le everything is funny, unicorns! XD' and stepped it up to the point where its still cringe over a decade later
>This board unironically did during the first season, once it got popular (with reddit) it became hated
AKA everyone on this board is a contrarian, oh shit that also describes the entire website
man frick this place i dont know why im still here
all of rick and morty sucks anon. there isn't one good season, there is no contraniamism, it fricking sucks buttholes and NOTHING will change that.
then why do people like it?
its easy to watch. why do you think people liked seinfeld, friends?
if its easy to watch and people like it that means its good, not everything needs to be hard to watch, shallow are those who think the world is only made of depth
Seinfeld is a collection of insane talent, terrible comparison.
you're right about the collection of talent, no denying that. but its like watching the transformers cartoon movie - it still sucks ass even though the voice cast is one of the best ever.
Because they think they're really smart by watching it. It makes some lines here and there someone in the first year of university would understand and they think to themselves "heh, only someone like me would get that."
its quite the opposite really, i dont think im exactly smart (im not dumb either), and i dont think the show is smart, its kinda silly but its fun
people who want to feel smart watching shows would do it with doctor who or some pretentious black and white indie movie
post the show you created
if it was never profitable why is adult swim bankrolling an entire series by Shinichiro Watanabe using bonobo, action choreographer from john wick, etc?
?si=qnx8Zfqx2OMvqrup
Anime is way more popular now, I was talking about the timeframe when R&M was airing
They also funded and produced Big O season 2, so I assume they take on passion projects sometimes because Lazzo is based as frick
>In the utopian year 2052, Dr. Skinner discovered a miracle drug. In 2055, Skinner announces that the drug has a three year half-life and soon everyone who took it will die.
not two weeks?
because the out-group like it. we must hate whatever homosexuals love, if you disagree, you're a homosexual. (it's also objectively shit)
cuz "we" hate everything and "we" want to show that to the world
we cant enjoy anything nowdays, there are some things that are objectively bad, like the new stuff dc and marvel puts out, that sperm episode from R&M, but to call the show as a whole bad its kinda moronic
It's ok.
like 90% of the so called independent thinkers of this board it came down to "reddit liked it so therefore I must hate it".
It was the episode where they beat up a Nazi that turned /misc/ against it
X GON GIVE TO YA
That and also the first episode has that line about God not being real and I think a lot of people didn't watch past that if they watched it at all. This isn't me saying it's great though, I don't watch it but I watched a couple seasons a while back.
I think that's another factor because they were in school surrounded by the annoying people who like the show. I'm at an age where nobody really talks about it and anyone who still does drugs is pretty quiet about it. And I don't really interact with them ever. I could see myself hating it if I was still in school and people were being obnoxious about it.
This board unironically did during the first season, once it got popular (with reddit) it became hated. Also mainly due to it becoming noticeably worse in season 2 and just overall bad after that, with the comedy becoming about making fun of the show itself. Pickle rick night on Cinemaphile was great.
I liked season 1. reminded me of house of cosbies. beca!e gayer then I never watched season 3. hth TND
Because it's popular.
Once a show passes a certain threadhold it immediately becomes slop
Stopped watching after season 3 back in 2017, my prediction is that it has turned into what the Simpsons have become.
nah, its more like star wars with a bunch of 4th wall jokes (and incest for shock value)
>season 1
goofy but good
>season 2
still goofy but we are having some depth here
>season 3
its quite decent, we have some lows but nothing unbearable (if you are not a homosexual)
>season 4
quite decent, better than 3 to be honest
>season 5
thats where the lows get really low, but atleast the highs are right there, its a roller coster and this is the only season i can call kinda bad, but the last 3 episodes go hard as frick and have alot of lore so you might want to watch it just for that
>season 6
really fricking good, can even be compared to the second season or third season, it still has questionable stuff but its quite good
Its not a terrible show, it just has a few bad apples, everyone loves to point out the pickle rick episode but nobody ever points it how the season 3 premiere is
>season 3
>its quite decent, we have some lows but nothing unbearable (if you are not a homosexual)
Self insert therapist and pickle rick
yeah that episode is shit (the lows i talked about), and fun fact, the writer who did that self insert is the head writer of the she-hulk, but the season is a 2 - 8, its overall good, plus he had two outstanding episodes, the premiere and the citadel one
yes
i genuinely cant remember a single funny moment from season 3
me neither, the jokes in this show arent exactly memorable, they are entertaining but they dont stick in your head
im not really sure why people itt are acting like people only started disliking the show because it was popular on reddit. the show took an enormous dip in quality after season 2.
before season 3 the shows humor mainly came from strange premises that force the normal innocent teenager morty into dangerous often traumatizing situations.
3 is when the show became too cool for itself, nothing matters the characters dont care, but also theyre trying to take the show seriously as some sort of coherent drama in the same awful way shows like adventure time spiraled, and theyre trying to do terrible deconstructions of characters who have at this point all become sloppy and unlikeable already, and theyre dedicating entire episodes to popcultural references and asinine overtreaded topics like “capeshit is bad!” while also just forgetting to be funny in general.
looking back the obvious decline began in season 2 with episodes like the purge one, but season 2 at least had some fun actually funny episodes like the one with the mind parasites that make you misremember things.
I had to look up some highlights to even remember and it's all talking about how FRICKING EPIC xD pickle Rick and the epic deconstruction from the psychiatrist was. It always feels like to me these people wanted to confront roiland directly but were too chicken shit so they subversively wrote it into the script and patted themselves on the back.
the write of that episode is the head writer of she-hulk, that why the episode was shit, its not even a woman moment, its just a really bad writer moment
The article I read said that Harmon said "and then he turns himself into a pickle!" sarcastically because it was fricking moronic and he wanted to end the meeting and go on vacation and the underlings ran with it
lmao, that the moronic ass writers just decided to go with it, the same thing happend to the sperm episode, the people who make R&M have serious problems man, like they clearly have talent, but they manage to frick up in ways i cannot comprehend
>Harmon said "and then he turns himself into a pickle!" sarcastically because it was fricking moronic and he wanted to end the meeting
i believe this. what a bunch of out of touch ass kissers who cant into sarcasm.
Peak Rick and Morty was the New Zealand thing. I watched an episode of the real show after that. I think it was season 3. It was about a toilet in a beautiful jungle. So boring. I dropped the show after that. Should've done a whole season of New Zealand or something even more wacky.
>was the New Zealand thing
I live there and I don't know what you are talking about, kek.
I meant Australia. I get them confused.
that does not make things better, what the frick are you talking about?
You've never seen this?
Rick and morty down under u queer moron
>Should've done a whole season of New Zealand
bushworld adventures is a (cusack) show.
adult swim just dropped a video hyping this motherfricker, im think this season will be lore heavy
Is that the new VA?
no, thats from the last seasons, this is just a compilation
le reddit
Season 3 was running on Cartoon Network, and that is the season I stopped watching, so I watched the first four episodes. I liked them enough that I'm going to watch the rest of that season at least. Probably four, too.
*on Cartoon Network last night
I binged the whole series in like 3 sittings last year and I really enjoyed it for what it was
Harmon disappears up his own butthole in the later parts though sometimes with the meta commentary
Roiland made the show though and I have no confidence in the new season being even remotely watchable
You stopped in the right place. Season 3 was serviceable, but the quality was already starting to dip noticeably. Every season beyond 3 is forgettable or just outright terrible. Seasons 1 and 2 were the only seasons with any soul.
NO JUSTIN
NO WATCH
Because it´s a shitty rehash of Family Guy done by pair of terminal dipshits?
Rick's VA gets weird when he's screaming.
Dan Harmon can't help himself but to turn everything he makes into shit. I dunno if he's just incompetent or he sabotages himself, but his shit always has a strong 1 season and a half and it turns to shit after
it was always shit but roiland's girlfriend leaving him for porn is the cherry on top of that cucked fanbase
>defenseive
jesus fricking christ man, how much effort was put into this?
Autism, anon. If you visit /x/ one day you will be scared. They have piles of this.
I only watched until evil Morty got transported to another universe. Should I continue? I can't even remember how long this has been
yes, season 6 gets way better than 5
Right, thanks.
>We
Go
Away
Corpo
Thinktank
Nobody gives a shit about your show or your survey.
>posting a family guy image and calling others corporate sell outs
>Morty's mom is a lesbian now, dating/scissoring.....herself
This is moronic
im pretty sure its supposed to be moronic, even the characters have a breakdown about it, the whole comedy of the show is based around absurd things happening, but sometimes they go too far (giant incest baby)
yeah im thinking roiland is based
I'm surprised this show survived the Roiland allegations, I wonder if it will survive when Harmon's dirty laundry become public, there's no way that fricking weirdo is clean.
at best he is really into incest porn, but nothing as a bad a roiland because he is even weirder than harmon, as far as i know roiland shoved something up his ass for a video, a total moron
you seem really out of the loop.
What? does harmon already have allegations against him? or did he leave the show?
Harmon used to harass some writer during Community. It got out, he apologized, she accepted it and everything's fine.
I really liked the 1st season but as soon as they introduced the woman writer team for season 2 it instantly became a slog when it originally felt like a breath of fresh air. Creativity nosedived and they just started crutching on LOL SO RANDUM XD and nonstop parody humor. That and the fanbase became unbearable and the time between seasons was so long I couldn't be bothered.
>original two creators capture lightning on a bottle
>show creates a bunch of inside jokes and insane ad libbing
>bunch of greasy ~~*outsiders*~~ come to whet their beaks and feast upon the decaying corpse
>thing slowly turns to shit
>original guys are even kicked out
Tale as old as time. It's fricking dead. You're moronic if you think the show is even going to be on the same level without roilands schizo tier drunken adlibbing
I believer the turn happened when Sam Hyde reacted to the "worse, you're smart" clip, and also the Sichuan MacDonald's source fiasco was classic meme goes IRL cringe.
Certain episodes are good. I can tolerate a lot of the "yikes" wokism's but even those they tend to be self aware about. There are definetly worse things you could be watching but also a lot better.
Dropped it on episode 2 because of plain denegeneracy and thinly veiled anti-white propaganda, which I sensed would only get worse
Don't hate it. Just indifferent to it. I watched the pilot before the show came out and I thought it wasn't funny.
let's just be honest, the new voices are not rick and morty, stop pretending that they are, they don't sound the same, they don't deliver the same and that's just from the few clips they gave, a full show will be very noticeable
I haven't heard the new voices and probably won't bother. I didn't hate it. I enjoyed it. It just had its time and I'm OK with that. I will concede the show got up its own ass really quickly and that always attracts people who make the thing get worse even faster.
First season was genuinely good.
Second season felt like "I didn't do it" boy levels of Reddit self-awareness and cringe, but it was still decent.
I don't think I managed to finish the third, and I don't really care what happened after.
I loved the first 2 seasons, the show dropped with the same intensity as South Park in 97 (im.old). But when they announced it was renewed for 70 episodes I knew it was fricked because you cannot maintain that level of creativity/ shock value for 70 episodes. I can only recall 2 memorable episodes after the first 2 seasons (mortytown and the heist one). Season 6 was the best season since 2, and has me excited for season 7, but that said I cannot recall anything from it beyond theyre going after Rick prime.
It's basically become family guy, fun to watch with the wife after work but zero rewatchability or memorable episodes.
i personally think there are memorable episodes if you are paying attention, the one where he saves bird person, in season 3 there is the citadel one, but those episodes are mostly lore driven, outside of that the show is basically sci fi family guy as you mentioned
It was a great show when it came out, lost steam during season 2 and became unwatchable garbage by season 3. Just as I completely gave up on it all the morons on the world decided to become super annoying by repeating "PICKLE REEEE" and "XIZUAN SAUCEEEE" all the time like Pokémon. I just ignored them but I understand many people started hating the show because of this.
i worked at mcdonalds at the time that meme sauce came back and had two unopened boxes of it when the promotion ended i was given that i was going to hock. no one was buying unfortunately so i just ate them. GREAT on rice
