Early Haneke is based. Noe's I Stand Alone and Haneke's doomer trilogy are some of the most depressing movies ever made. I respect that.
his early stuff is indeed good, but he also has very middling outings, and Amour might be his worst one (i even liked Happy End more), no idea why he attempted to be sentimental, it didn't work out
Noe on the other hand portrayed the same subject matter magnificently.
They're both hit an miss. But all "Auteur" directors are. They have the balls to take chances. Sometimes that results in utter failure. For instance, I hate Noe's Love. I literally can't watch it I detest it so much.

Enter the Void is the only film of his that's blown me away. Irreversible wasn't particularly interesting. Climax was intense and visually appealing, but nothing special. Vortex was good but way too depressing to watch again. Love was boring. Lux Aeterna was hot garbage. Haven't seen I Stand Alone.
Depending on the day, Enter the Void might make my top 10.
ISA is his worst easily, Irreversible is his most coherent

I saw it without psychedelics and loved it, but seeing it again on acid was mind-blowing.
That might be the difference between us, then. You already liked it, but for someone like me who found it pointless drawn out autofellatio I don't think enjoying it on a given substance would make me view it in any higher regard.

I'm not usually one to recommend drugs, but I think everyone should do acid or mushrooms at least once, except for people who might be predisposed to schizophrenia or any mental illness that causes mania.

Straight Cut is 9/10. I know it ruins the reversed gimmick and sort of ruins the story, but it's more re-watchable. Normal version is better for a first time watch, straight cut is better on re-watches.

I really like the way he films his stuff and his taste in music, but the actual movies as a whole are almost poisonous to the soul.
