Have you ever seen millennial dads? They're either complete beta homosexual wimps or weirdly overcompensatory hardasses covered on tribal tattoos and rocking a 2000 goatee.
There just aren't any normal people around anymore, because starting with gen x everyone refused to grow up for better or for worse.
>or weirdly overcompensatory hardasses covered on tribal tattoos and rocking a 2000 goatee.
I really see those a lot in person where I live though. Like, 2/3 millennial dudes have sunglasses and tattoos, even if they have kids.
People just must hate them too much to put them in media.
Hank is legitimately strong and smart, just somewhat stubborn and self-centered. Half the lessons in the shows are about him overcoming his stubborn ways and reaching out to his CHAD son, Bobby.
He is literally the generic ignorant but well-meaning Southerner. He is both weak AND stupid but not in a malicious or downright moronic manner like Peter and Homer, more in like a "difficult to understand change" way.
Hank really isn't the only normal dad in sitcom. I'd say Bob Belcher, Stan Smith, Jay Sherman and really early Homer Simpson (like between Tracy Ulman era to Season 2).
Because media is trying to normalize men being the caretakers/ not the primary breadwinner, which is slightly reflective of reality due to the fact that women have begun to become the predominant gender in post-secondary institutions and many are outearning men.
However, women also refuse to "date down" and most won't settle for men who make less than them anyways, meanwhile men are more receptive to being the caretakers in comparison. So I think these "beta dads" are made more so to condition women for their possible futures.
It's fricking bizarre. The mods are fully aware of these threads' existence and are willing to ban anyone who brings up who makes them, yet they don't ban IC himself despite him being a flagrant troll who contributes absolutely nothing to this board. What the frick is going on behind the scenes?
But we have been having this discussion for months maybe years thanks to IC, it's not censoring. Deleting the post with the doc is censoring, fricking hypocrites just admit to babying the tard
Where are all the poorly adjusted dudebro dads who can only get their kids to calm down through threatening body language?
I can't go to a grocery store without seeing them.
Change of archetype. Before this, you had this abusive, hotheaded father that kids could rebel. Now you have the more caring but incompetent father figure for lulz and kids selfinserts wishfullfillment.
It is always a thing of generational fight. But times changed and when you have more understanding but strict fathers in today families, you adapt that.
he is one of the few exceptions. Look at the Muslim Dad in the Netflix midnight mass vampire show, and dads in Key and Peele movies, or Craigs Dad in Craig of the Creek. That kind of dad is allowed. Chad dads who save the day are no longer allowed. The Mitchells vs the Machines was the closest I've seen a white dad get to being chad in modern /co or /tv, and even then the Mitchell dad spent most of the movie as a beta.
I had a good dad, but I recognize the pattern on TV of turning dads in to chubby subservient betas, where as in the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s dads were generally depicted as chads who always do their best to protect and take care of their family.
>but I recognize the pattern on TV of turning dads in to chubby subservient betas
A good chunk of dads from 90s and 00s were chubby or subservient betas. Even the 2010s had a few good dads. >where as in the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s dads were generally depicted as chads who always do their best to protect and take care of their family.
Again, that didn't disappear from the 90s onwards. Did people forget that Professor Utonium existed?
This. Society went to shit after the 80s. We were living in a golden age of media in that decade and masculinity was allowed. Parents like James Possible and Jack Fenton are a mockery of, say Benton Quest.
>Remember that Ukrainians are the most effective in killing those who cannot defend themselves. And they have almost 400 methods of killing women and children...
He would do us all a favor by never replying on this board ever again, but since he's too much of a fricking schizo to stop posting, then the next thing is him getting banned.
If that won't, then at least I have the consolation of him eventually dying.
He has done so much damage to this board, it's ridiculous. He's permanently fricked up all discussion for cartoons in the 2000's and is now trying to frick up all discussion for cartoons in the 2020's
Why does OP suck wieners?
Double standards, women emasculating or beating up men is funny but do it the other way around and it's now a big no no.
*cartoon dads
they don't want females to get triggered
REMINDER

This. I had the privilege of being raised by a baby boomer. Meanwhile my cousins were Gen X and they were not fricking normal.

Gen Xers and Millenials have been completely skipped over in the media
Writer's self insert
King of the Hill is literally the only cartoon where the dad isn't portrayed as weak or stupid
>Hank
>not weak or stupid
lol
He could kick your ass
>middle aged fat white dude
>kicking anyone’s ass
lmao

Half the time he's the "one sane man" in a sea of fools.
Hank really isn't the only normal dad in sitcom. I'd say Bob Belcher, Stan Smith, Jay Sherman and really early Homer Simpson (like between Tracy Ulman era to Season 2).
not weak, just antiquated
Big Mouth had the most pathetic beta dad, and I'm not talking about Nick's dad.
Why have industrycuck threads remained constant for the past three years?
Because media is trying to normalize men being the caretakers/ not the primary breadwinner, which is slightly reflective of reality due to the fact that women have begun to become the predominant gender in post-secondary institutions and many are outearning men.

It’s sad. Women can do so much better than cartoon dads
>no Hank Hill
bad pic

this again?
Yesssssss

Maybe the mods don't want to censor criticism of something that's relevent to CO?
This. This is actual discussion compares to what goes on most of the time.

I KNEW there was one person behind all the incest threads and making posts against 00's cartoons. God damn

Dads are allowed to be chads as long as they aren't white, according to the rules of the social engineers who decide these things. .
>what is Oscar Proud

*weren't chubby
>I had a good dad
A person with a good idea wouldn't take silly dads in comedies and cartoons so personally.
This. Society went to shit after the 80s. We were living in a golden age of media in that decade and masculinity was allowed. Parents like James Possible and Jack Fenton are a mockery of, say Benton Quest.

You're not looking hard enough.
Metal Family is kino, why doesn't Cinemaphile talks about it???
Precisely because it's kino. Cinemaphile doesn't deserve good things.
>indieshit

because only obnoxious homosexuals like you are into it
Kek, the silly irony of you saying that while being in this thread.
>Chad dads who save the day are no longer allowed.
The dad in OP's pic literally saved the day in one episode.
>Normagay finally gets banned
For real?
I hope so. The last Norma thread got deleted.
What's this about censorship again? Mods must be extra crunchy today
Because you homosexuals are derailing discussion.
>discussion
We’re discussing the lack of masculinity in cartoon fathers
It's a subversion of the stereotypical "dad wears the pants" family dynamic. Of course, it's done so often that now it itself is a stereotype.
Not him. I just think you're taking the hate too far. It is weird how nothing is done about him but that goes for a lot of schizos.
He would do us all a favor by never replying on this board ever again, but since he's too much of a fricking schizo to stop posting, then the next thing is him getting banned.

Just Molly McGee. He loves shows like Owl House and Amphibia otherwise.
the moment applications open up again to be a janny, i'm applying and banning the same schizos and shit and make Cinemaphile great again.
