Parent/Child relationships are interesting and them not being perfect is easy drama. There may not be much positive father representation in AT, but there isn't a lot of positive mother representation either. You have Minerva, who is obviously better than Martin but still tried to forcibly upload Finn to a computer because she was overprotective, And you have Marcy's mom who Marcy had thought abandoned her for being a monster because she never found the message she left her until over a 1000 years later. Generally, Adventure Time liked to do parent drama and seemed to prefer to do it with male characters.
