israelites ruined television and films.
Yeah it's crazy how israelites started getting into Hollywood in the 2010s
I always use this picture as a simple shorthand because even the most goose-stepping /misc/tard must grasp that these men are NOT equivalent and something terrible has happened
Yes, the one on the left is a known pedo pervert. The other one probably is too but we just don't know about it yet.
>Steven Spielberg's parents were an electrical engineer and a chef
>JJ Abrams's parents were a CBS executive and a Disney executive
SOVL
vs
Slop
Do people actually believe that bullshit story Spielberg tells about how he would break into hollywood studios so much that they got fed up and gave him a job? You think life works like that and his parents didn't tell some Hollywood person at their local synagogue that their son needs a job?
No, I don't believe it. You still can't tell me Abrams is any good at anything.
Abrams is even worse and only has a job because of Spielberg. When he made Super 8, Spielberg himself deemed him his successor and passed on that israeli nepotism he was given. Same when he made Shia Labeouf a star. Same when he gave that Solo actor a job.

>Do people actually believe that bullshit story Spielberg tells about how he would break into hollywood studios so much that they got fed up and gave him a job?
That's literally how easy boomers had it. Hal Ashby broke into the studio system answering a newspaper ad for an editor.
>these men are NOT equivalent
They look like an old and young version of the exact same israelite.
Yeah, until someone else mentioned Abrams, I thought it was Spielberg and his son, and I was trying to think of what movies Spielberg Jr. did.
aka BlackRock and vanguard
Vanguard pulled out of DEI/ESG iirc citing it was loosing money. i can’t imagine it being any different for blackrock and as a fiduciary they are opening themselves up to some major lawsuits if keep it up much longer. If you have a 401k you should move it out of blackrock. Frick Larry fink.
The idea is effectively heroic capitalist investment. ie these are profitable systems, so why not impose some rules where you can also make money while solving environmental and social injustices at the same time? This allows the rich bankers to feel they're part of the solution rather than the problem.
However, it turns out that one aspect of diversity mandates is the hiring of unqualified morons who want to do nothing but activism. Which in turn results in your company collapsing slowly from within. So it loses money so Vanguard pulled out.
I'm of the moderate mindset that investment firms should just do investment firm shit, and leave everything else to government regulation and charities.
left wingers*
Lmao one of the most streamed shows is Seinfeld
Laugh track Seinfeld viewers have a sub 60 iq. Any show with a laugh track is for NPC'S.
I, too, hate popular things to try to seem interesting.
Yeah, it's great. Makes me feel like a big man, like I'm smarter than those rubes.
Mash was very popular during it's time and the non laugh track version is vastly superior.
Anyone with a show in their top 5 that has a laugh track in it should be sterilized for the good of humanity.
This poster sucks wiener on purpose.
I agree with you to a certain extent. It’s weird because I was born in ‘78 and everything had a laugh track. Never thought about it. I remember when I first really noticed it. I hadn’t seen Grounded For Life for quite a while and ran across it somewhere. I used to love that show as just background. I put it on and couldn’t get through five minutes because of the obnoxious laughter. Never noticed it before.
Still watch Frasier though and if you don’t you suck wiener on purpose.
I was born in 89 so Frasier was a bit too high brow for me, I should check it out
anon, frasier is a show enjoyed exclusively by literal wienersuckers.
Tell me you’re low test without telling me you’re low test.
Why indeed.
>entire Cinemaphile board looks down and ponders...
>white cast
>attractive cast
>before globalhomosexual went full moron
Gee I wonder why? Even I watched this whole show with my gf over any modern slop. I like attractive people. Simple as.
>white
the daughter is some kind of mexican
Essentially white.
>needs wiki
Hope you learn quick they are actively working on scrubbing any mention of certain groups in early life sections.
I am aware.
took them long enough. early life memes have been a thing for at least 8 years at this point.
her skin is white as snow and her eyes are kanker blue
I’ve been watching a bunch of shows around the globohomosexual tipping point. It’s amazing how many of them have a really good first season, and then season 2 they instantly have to shove in as many Black folk as possible.
Bait-and-switch. They know lots of people hate woke crap so they try to draw you in with a low message first season and hope you're too invested to stop watching when they let their freak flags fly.
I mean unironically that is exactly what they’re doing. Season 1 is actually interesting with a likable cast and none of those tiring agenda pushing pitfalls that you’re sick of seeing every time you turn on the TV. Then season 2 hits and they figure they can start jamming as much pozzed shit in as the can manage and they’re banking on you being too invested in to watching more after already wasting 10+ hours of your life on the only good season you’ll ever get
I admit I fell for it with The Boys. Season one was decent. Then season 2 I could see the cracks forming and season 3 went full moron with muh wife’s son and Soldier Boy being worse than a genocidal insane Superman because he might have been racist one time allegedly. Didn’t watch the dumbass spin-off. Wont watch season 4. At this point I don’t watch any new show on release, I wait for the second season to come out and see how that’s getting reviewed
I will always hold a special place of contempt for this show because miraculously, bizarrely, against all odds, in spite of being a living catalog of "woke" stereotypes, the first season still wasn't woke. In fact it can be used to define that nebulous fricking term.
Season 1:
>the black girl's plot is about her fear that she's a fraud and her husband doesn't truly love her beyond her fame and fortune
>the gay guy's plot is that he's a criminal drug addict that sincerely wants to be a better person that his siblings can count on in spite of his incredible frickup nature
>the Mexican guy's plot is that he's a murderously angry vigilante, Dexter or Rorschach-tier because he does heroic things but he does them because he fricking HATES evildoers more than he actually cares about innocents
>Ellen Page's plot is about how she's written a bestselling tell-all book about their shitty childhood and everyone in her family resents her for it
Season 2:
>the black girl's plot is about how hard it is being black and how much the world discriminates against her for it
>the gay guy's plot is about how hard it is being gay and how much the world discriminates against him for it
>the Mexican guy's plot is about how hard it is being Mexican and how much the world discriminates against him for it
>Ellen Page's plot is about how hard it is being a lesbian and how much the world discriminates against her for it
I am tangibly angry that they spun shit into gold and then turned it back into shit on purpose
Shit I completely forgot about this turdburger. The second season was so embarrassing I didn’t go back for the third. Didn’t they have to work Ellen Page being a dude now into the plot? What a fricking mess
the reason this happens is because the first season is often a passion project from the creator that they create as a semi-self contained story with a little open ended-ness for another season. Then when it becomes successful due to being orignal or good, the studio takes over and you give it the hollywood writer treatment and unless the creator is strong willed with a strong artistic vision for the show, they usually get swept up in it too and allow all of the woke bullshit to creep in through the writers room as more writers are brought in to the show.
the girl is from Algeria, literally africa
People prefer the familiarity of things they already know.
That doesn't make sense for younger people though. My zoomer niece is constantly quoting Friends and Seinfeld it's bizzare
my buddies kids are alphas and a young zoomer and they watch old shows exclusively, except for Avatar: The Last Airbender.
The movies they like are even older: Marx Brothers are their favorite.
They don't see them as old - at least not "old & uncool" the way I would have.
it's kinda based, really.
Zoomers watching TV from when their parents were in high school is what they know?
Zoomers didn't know the '70's, '80's, '90's tho
Zoomers don’t even know the 2000’s. They try to replicate memories of those only a few years older than them.
that would imply that kids today like new age shit which they don't so your whole argument is bullshit
youre moronic
*Your
By top they mean hours watched. Old shows have longer seasons and several seasons all available to watch now. New shows have shorter seasons and only a few seasons available to watch. These articles are always stupid, misleading and very pointless.
Oy vey!
do GDP next
I'm sure you find this lie extremely comforting.
But they still are watching them and all the episodes so clearly there is an interest in these shows.
Nobody is denying that but If I watch all of The Fallout show that's out now that's 10 hours max. If I only watch the first season of Star Trek that's 20+ hours. Do I like Star Trek twice as much? Yes, but that's not really the point. I can't watch more Fallout because it does not exist. A streaming show with five seasons is literally half the length of a 90's show with 5 seasons. There is no catching up. That's why these articles are misleading. People watch the old shit but stay for the new shit. You need both.
>If I only watch the first season of Star Trek that's 20+ hours. Do I like Star Trek twice as much?
It means you decided to invest 20 hours of your life watching something from the 60's.
>and infinitely better.
their fixed it for you
There are very few good modern shows. And even the good ones won't get much watch time because of the lack of episodes.
1. Old shows tended to have 22 ep seasons and ran a long time so they just have more episodes.
2. Modern shows are like 8 eps max and tend ot space out seasons by years.
3. Many old shows have gotten gorgeous scans since they were shot on 32mm film so they look crisp, clean, and modern. Best of both worlds.
4. Many older shows were just better, and able to be funny without jumping through endless ideological hoops.
>Many old shows have gotten gorgeous scans since they were shot on 32mm film so they look crisp, clean, and modern. Best of both worlds.
I believe mostly this. Digital recordings look like SHIT. People get nostalgic over film stock.
It's amazing how shows with 20+ episodes per season managed to have better pacing and less filler than recent 8 episode ones.
>It's amazing how shows with 20+ episodes per season managed to have better pacing and less filler than recent 8 episode ones.
The older shows were episodic, telling their own mini-movies. modern shows are written like a singular movie then they throw in some padding.
Obi-Wan is a great example. That was a movie stretched into 8 eposides, they should have just made a movie.
yeah i'm fricking sick of "movie but extended and with filler and more side plots thrown in"
Chernobyl was a great miniseries. That used the format to great effect.
The Last of Us was a plodding mess. Rings of Power was a plodding mess. Some of these episodic documentaries they put out are constantly repeating themselves or re-using footage as if they expect people to be watching it weekly and needing reminders. Most concise and interesting documentary i've seen in a long time was the boogie one that some youtuber made.
It really is fricking baffling isn't it? I'm currently rewatching SG-1 for the first time in 7 years and I'm fricking astonished by how well it fills out. Despite being episodic it almost never feels like time is wasted, nearly every episode is telling a complete, well-paced story that's either highly relevant to the overall plot or elaborates on a character or concept, and the ones that aren't are usually still at least highly entertaining fluff (just finished Window of Opportunity... god DAMN seasons 3 and 4 were tight)
The more I compare old films and television to new, the more I'm convinced it's got to be the prevalence of studio executives micromanaging: Talented writers and character actors and animators and effects artists and so on are all still obviously out there, but it seems like fewer and fewer of them are finding their way to a position where they can actually contribute to modern media.
I started watching Columbo lately myself. I didn't realize the episodes were 1:30 long when I started. Every fricking episode of the series is an entire, complete movie better than any drama I've seen Hollywood put out in over a decade.
Stupid argument since there are tons of old shows with crazy amounts of seasons like Gilligan's Island that you don't see on these lists. It's clearly a quality thing
Gilligan's island only ran for three seasons.
Yes, but it had 98 episodes.
>Many old shows have gotten gorgeous scans since they were shot on 32mm film
This is very true. Even the 16mm scans look better than the best digital.
How long until "older" shows start disappearing from streaming?
Please, no.
I mean ot doesn't matter much to me since I pirate everything I watch but please stop.
>How long until streaming services destroy themselves entirely
Hasn't that been the pattern?
If they use licensed music, almost immediately unless they simply change the background music.

>media companies are going to stop making money off pre-existing content that costs them a fraction of what new productions do even though there's a high demand for it
yeah I don't think you need to sweat about that particular hypothetical
Yeah, if anything it's the opposite. Residuals on 20 year old shows are peanuts. Residuals on new shows are expensive as frick. That's why you see shit like the new Willow get memory holed and The Office and Friends are still masters of the sitcom world.
>That's why you see shit like the new Willow get memory holed
Their fault for using modern music. If they had simply had an original score from the beginning, it would have freed up a frickshit of more budget.
>That's why you see shit like the new Willow get memory holed and The Office and Friends are still masters of the sitcom world.
I think it's because people would rather see one than the other.
>media companies put out flop after money-losing flop, never seeming to worry about their bottom line
The israelites in charge aren't worried about losing money, shabbos goy. They'll fund each other into perpetuity.
The rights holders have figured out that old media is big bucks, and are asking for more money from Netflix, hulu, and other services. They also have to pay out residuals to the actors and crew.
>he STILL thinks media is about profit
>he thinks consumer money accounts for most of their income
lmao These companies are floated by investors aka the banks aka the federal reserve.
It's funny that anyone still has a problem with muslims when they're the only significant group on earth left who still espouses that usury (israeli banking) is a sin. Muslims are the only ones actually resisting the banks, which is why Israel is dying to get the USA involved in the middle east again on their behalf.
It's an eventuality
is Cinemaphile full of normalgays now?? I dont give a frick if they remove it from their 30 dollar streaming service, theres hundreds of sites i can watch it for free forever
Zoomers forgot how to pirate.
shit i guess you are right about that. Zoomers dont even install fricking adblocks, i had to install firefox, ublock etc all for my little brother. The girls in my class when i went to school couldnt even open task manager, or even know what it does
t.zoomer
Do all you morons seriously either pay for streaming and spend time pirating instead of just using free streaming websites run out of the islands? Why? What is wrong with you people?
>free streaming websites run out of the islands
what did he mean by this?
>spend time pirating
wut? How much time do you think it takes? It's literally the same as you typing the name of the show into the search bar, just in my qbit client instead of the site. Even if it did take more time, not having to worry about buffering and having a saved playlist is worth the effort. I never remember what episode I left off on and a playlist is easier than juggling 50 tabs.
Most free streaming websites save you progress on the episode you left off on, and the exact time you left off on. The tranime ones even let you see which episodes are filler.
I have never had a single problem with buffering.
I actually cancelled amazon prime because it was faster to watch the shows on free shit than it was amazon.
Why you would waste your time torrenting and risk spyware and shit is beyond me. Back in the day it made sense but it hasn't for years with the quality of streaming sites out there.
>risk spyware
Oh, so you're a complete moron. Gotcha. That explains why you prefer streaming.
>faCinemaphile gets irrationally angry when his long way round inefficient solutions that make no sense but he's comfy with are questioned
many cases
>Why you would waste your time torrenting
Again, it takes zero extra time. My client auto-prioritizes based on episode order and it takes literal seconds to download an episode, which I can watch as it downloads if it's still somehow taking too long. By the time I'm done with the first, the rest are done. I don't even understand how to argue against you because you're just making up random nonsense to spout off.
no point trying to get through to zoomers they're morons. You can literally set up sonarr to auto-download new episodes as they release and stream them as they download. The truth is that they're intimidated by torrenting because it seems complicated and hard to them. Similar to how coding intimidates people who dont know anything about it. So they get the fox and the grapes going and pretend like streaming at 1mb/s bitrate on some ad ridden website is better.
>I don't even understand how to argue against you because you're just making up random nonsense to spout off.
You don't.
You don't even reply to someone like that because they will say whatever insane shit they can think of to get more (you)s because that's all they care about.
What sites do you use? The ones i was using a few months ago are gone now.
I'm not sharing. It took me about 4 minutes to find them. You should be able to.
hey frick you, nta but what was that one with 365 in the link?
see
>The ones i was using a few months ago are gone now.
They're gone because morons kept sharing them on public sites until the wrong person inevitably saw them.
not that anon but i found letflix.tv the other day. It seems pretty good.
>I actually cancelled amazon prime because it was faster to watch the shows on free shit than it was amazon.
This is one of the main reason I pirate live sports. There was an occasion where I went to a buddy's for a UFC or boxing match which he paid for. The stream kept buffering and dropping to under 720p, so we switched to an illegal streaming site from an ice hockey forum and the shit was high def 60 fps no problems..
Amazon is uniquely awful and always lagging out and glitching and needing to be closed. HBO is also shit. Netflix is the only one which is on par with free shit.
Its probably due to the amount of traffic, but as the end user I don't give a shit.
I pay for HBO but will still watch it on free websites.
My kid Almost exclusively watches old shows like Gilmore girls, saved by the bell, and boy meets world for shows. Watching them you can see a very obvious quality difference in the writing.
Its the same thing with zoomers discovering music from the 70's and 80's. The quality is just much higher, and once you realize that there is no going back
Because old TV shows hired writers based on merit. People get up in arms about on-screen diversity when it's the DEI hires off-screen that are the biggest contribution to a show's downfall.
people mostly watch tv shows as comfort noise. Its just background sounds they can have to allow them to not feel so lonely and bored. Modern shows are made to be standalone miniseries with zero rewatchability because it lends best to the streaming platforms' structure and platform. So you get lots of relatively high budget, high concept miniseries only designed to be watched once. But old tv like friends or the simpsons is designed to be that friendly background noise partly because it was aired on live television and would have people tuning in for maybe one episode per week or month. Its comforting, you can tune in to any episode and just kind of half pay attention and get that warm fuzzy feeling and still be entertained. It also takes very low amounts of time to be sunk in per episode because they're all like 20-30 minutes long as opposed to longer 45-1hr30 min tv episodes these days. They're easier to digest and dont require concentration. Watching 9 hours of episodes where you need to pay attention and understand what is happening is mentally draining. Watching 9 hours of futurama isnt because you dont even really need to pay attention. That is why old tv is more rewatchable and why people still watch it more. Its like comfort food in entertainment form.
to add to this the modern equivalent now of this comfort food television is youtube shit. 4 hour long game reviews, podcasts, whatever. People arent watching them because they're sat there listening to every word of a 8 hour pokemon review. Its comforting, familiar background noise revolving around a subject or person people are fimilar with and takes even less concentration than non-continuous cartoons like the Simpsons, looney tunes etc to watch. Its low effort, comfort food entertainment.
I just put one twitch streamer I like on in the background, kick back the chair, and take a nap. If I had 24/7 ad-free looney-tunes, I'd be cool with that too. I just want to fricking sleep existence away at this point.
>Its comforting, familiar background noise
God we live in a dystopian hellscape
I only got around watching Sopranos last year and one of the qualities that I appreciated, on top of it being genuinely great (and funny), was that it was comfortable to watch. I didn't need to set my brain to 110% for the whole runtime
go woke go broke
It’s a mystery.
what happened to all the white men, why did they all decide suddenly to stop working
>decide
The decision was made for them. Sometimes the studios even forget to not put their racist hiring policies directly into job advertisements.
Isn't there a law in the Civil Rights Act against discrimination based on race? Even the most inept court would have no choice but rule against it.
overturning the Civil Rights Act has been a massive goal since equity replaced equality
This is Canada. There are parts of the country where it's illegal to order pasta in Italian.
i beg of you elaborate on that. This shit sounds so fricking moronic canada is such a fricking meme country
Quebec language laws requiring french. Huge comedy blowup when an Italian restaurant in Quebec city I think got hit with fines because the word "pasta" is Italian not French. Don't know what came of it because I don't really care.
okay in that sense i think its based, preservation of culture from other cultures. Though I guess it depends on who you ask if its good or bad.
Preservation of culture is good and I do not blame the Quebecois for it. Flipping out about the word pasta is moronic though. Of course restaurants serving foreign foods are going to have to use some foreign words for them. Unless the point is to keep anything foreign at all out of your ethnostate, in which case based.
You know whats infuriating? It's a good idea in theory but you always hear shit like this about white cultures. I bet if a latino or ethiopian restaurant opened and pulled that shit they wouldn't care
Gee I wonder.
White men are LITERALLY being discriminated against and replaced in a country they all went to fricking war twice for.
People either fricking get this or they are in denial and call you chud or fricking whatever
White men are being fricked over by all the other people of the world because they are all jealous
Wytbois have kneeled to their israeli overlords.
Damn, this pretty much explains everything.
No it doesn't, many writers, producers, and directors were israeli. Are the israelites white just for this one instance?
It doesn’t matter, they had dicks. israeli men, while subversive, knew how to put asses in seats and occasionally kino would occur. Women are the anti-kino.
/misc/ is wrong about israelites in this one instance. It's mostly women and nogs that are killing modern entertainment.
who created all the policies to let them in moron
>who created all the policies to let them in moron
white men, who did so under pressure from women.
ah yes, all those white lawmakers with names like "goldfeld" and "bergowitz"
129 Palestinians died screaming in the last 24 hours. How many did your papaya save?
>129 Palestinians died screaming in the last 24 hours.

Well if you want to think about it that way, yes israelites are ultimately responsible.
It's the same israeli owners you fricking idiot.

Older shows naturally have way more seasons. You can get through a modern show in a couple days, Seinfeld not so much.
I guess you can say that movies are now like literature at this point. if you have access to a lot of great shows why watch a bunch of garbage just because its new? shows now need to put more effort into standing out now with streaming.
To be fair after season 4 it's unwatchable because Rory and Lorelei are fricking stupid b***hes
I love Gilmore Girls
>the hunchback of stars hollow
more like golem-get-ye-more girls
they're woke piles of shit.
The old shows are kino. The new shows are gay.
Simple as.
Because it's just background noise while you scroll on your phone. Watch TV with a white woman, and you'll see.
postmodern feedback loop
I like hearing white girls speak Spanish but I suspect Rory isn't fully fluent like Ayynya
they mean "minutes watched". Of course a show with 200 episodes will have more minutes watched than a show with 16 episodes released in the span of 4 years
Doesn't change the fact that people are still watching them in large amounts.
Everything modern is shit
>start watching new show
>even if I like it despite being Netlix'd I can never be sure if it goes past season 2
>or watch something old, rated good, that has a proper run
Truly a mystery.
We want to transport to better times.
I only watch The Office and Stranger Things, and have been doing that for the past three years
Old shows didn't constantly have fat Black person women, trannies, and dykes constantly lecturing us and telling us we are horrible people for being born white males.
Ngl i would absolutely destroy that chocolate slampig
>leftists don't even consume their own propaganda
If we still had capitalism this problem would solve itself.
>if we still had capitalism
>US GDP grows 50% in 10 years
don't forget to complain about houses being unaffordable as if that's unrelated to capitalism you big doofus.
I predicted this a few years back: because all the new media for the last decade is 100% pozzed by blackrock/vanguard's DEI bounties, they generate no interest or revenue, and even less residuals. Companies usually have long term plans to coast off residuals of previous properties, but what happens when you have over a decade of unprofitable, unwanted media?
These companies become EXTREMELY vulnerable, and can be bought out, but the same kindly masters that lured them in with the promise of free candy/DEI/ESG loans.
>Why is nobody watching modern shows?

Here is the top ten list from the article. You can clearly see the top shows almost came around the same time outside Friends and the two kids shows. There clearly was a golden era that ended after 2011 and everything after has been shit.
Wait, so 5 of the top 10 are currently airing and another 3 just recently ended? So the headline was wrong?
look at when they started
"Why are people watching long running tv shows that are still airing new episodes" is a very different question from "Why are people mostly watching old shows". It is dishonest to conflate the two.
They are literally old shows. What don't you understand? You think people are just watching the new episodes and not the episodes from the early 2000's?
>suits
I have never heard anyone talk about this show
it is a mystery
Thinking about this always blows my mind
It was 2018, well into the death of television, and this was a fricking Nielsen ratings extravaganza, 18 million godamn people tuned into it when networks regularly struggled to break the 3 million mark with ANYTHING
And ABC still fired her because she insulted one of Obama's cabinet members on Twitter
Imagine being an executive at a billion dollar media conglomerate and just fricking HATING money
"No sir, I don't even want money. Viewers? Don't need 'em. The only thing that really matters in this business is jerking off my political sensibilities."
Can you even call it a "business" at that point?
The most baffling this to me is investors don't care. CEOs are legally obligated to do the best to make them money and this was the opposite. Same with Disney and the daily moronic shit it does. Elon Musk fires half of Twitter staff and it still runs fine meaning the last CEO wasn't running the company efficiently. She is so corrupt it's unreal.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rural_purge
There was a famous incident in 1971 when the networks intentionally canceled all of their biggest shows because in spite of being tremendously profitable, too many hicks and rednecks were watching them
>The wave of cancellations was instigated by CBS executive Robert Wood, who replaced longtime CBS programming head Michael Dann with Fred Silverman
~~*They*~~ wanted to program young white women to move away from their families to the big city, get a job, and get involved in many relationships.

Of course it was a fricking israelite:

>And ABC still fired her because she insulted one of Obama's cabinet members on Twitter
She's a bipolar drug addict and should NOT even have a twitter to begin with. Studios need to start reigning in these idiots, and to take away their smartphones where they can say anything crazy at a moments notice.
>Imagine being an executive at a billion dollar media conglomerate and just fricking HATING money
Companies play it safe, and you cannot be associated with predudice nowadays at all, especially racism. Combine with twitter idiot crusaders, and it's a bad mix.
>Companies play it safe
Remember when both protagonists of The Mandalorian went to Twitter to screech "Everyone I don't like is a Nazi" and then Disney fired one of them and praised the other
People are still watching Roseanne without Roseanne. Season 6 is almost over.
Ratings dropped 70% the day she left
Anon you don't sacrifice your whole brand built up over decades for one show. That's just stupid. They own the show already they can make it, remake it fricking animate it. Please. You don't even see the levels to this game.
>Why is nobody watching modern shows?
homosexualry / dikes / troony garbage everywhere. Race mixing garbage. Feminist bullshit. Race swapped characters. Gender swapped characters. Communist ideology bullshit. Racism directed at whites.
This shit wasn't the case before Bush II. Once the uniparty elected Nigbama, "entertainment" died as we knew it...
gilmore girls got me addicted to bjork music
I have had girls stop dating me when I told them I never watched The Office before. This shit is like a religion to them
most boring shit ive ever seen, cant get through a single episode
same with that show about community college with that brunette with the breasts and the blonde
>I have had girls stop dating me when I told them I never watched The Office
protip: it wasn't because you hadn't watched The Office
and it wasn't girls, plural.
it was one girl.
and it wasn't a girl.
it was your mom.
and she didn't date you, she told you to clean up your room.
That post upset you this much huh? Sorry your life sucks but I have nothing to do with that anon that's on you.
Genuinely woke-ism has gone too far. It's too annoying. I don't think you can play a single modern TV show without some interracial couple being thrown to the forefront. I'm not even racist like that usually but it's so cookie cutter now that it's just annoying and boring to see the exact same thing everywhere.
Hollywood also casts ugly people for 80% of roles these days in part of their woke agenda which is simply not pleasant to look at most of the time.
I used to be a liberal. What converted me away is that liberals don't have the ability to say no to a group who claims they are marginalized. At some point you have to say no but they can't. You can't convince me that cutting off someones dick and calling a wound a vegana is normal or sane and not medical malpractice.
Occupy Wall Street is the most infuriating episode in American history because the motherfrickers were RIGHT about banks
That didn't stop sheboons from waddling in and going "stop talking about fractional reserve banking and start talking about dem reparations" and all of them just going "o-okay s-sorry"
OWS was ultimately never going to accomplish anything but it shows you have useless protests are since people will try to slip unrelated shit into there
Read sociologist Musa al-Gharbi who critiques it from a sociological standpoint of a political moderate of Afghan descent.
>However, as a function of the increased social capital at stake when accusations of racism are made, and the diminishing opportunities to leverage that capital by “calling out” obvious cases of racism – the sphere of what counts as “racist” has been ever-expanding – to the point where it is now possible to qualify as “racist” on the basis of things like microaggressions and implicit attitudes. One particularly unfortunate aspect of this concept creep – justified under the auspices of empowering people of color – is that relatively well-off, highly-educated, liberal whites tend to be among the most zealous in identifying and prosecuting these new forms of “racism.”

And he talks about Columbia students wanting time off after Trump won, then turning around and ignoring workers who showed up to their jobs. They were invibible to them.

>why?
People use old shows they used to watch as background white noise
Also these shows have an ending, most modern shows get cancelled on season 2
>mostly attractive or at least non repulsive looking people
>political messages in tv shows were mostly subdued and not ultra preachy
There are a lot of other things but for me these two are the reason
modern shows are more and more becoming longform content that is no serialized and requires attention and watching every episode
compared to something like seinfeld or cheers where you can pick any random episode and watch it and not be lost on whats going on.
as a result it's much easier to just throw on 10 seasons of a show that has 22 episodes that you can have as background noise as opposed to putting on Haunting of Hill House or some shit. also as i just pointed out those old shows have 100+ episodes to go through, some of them into the 200s or even 300s. new shows have like 12 a season at most and are done in 2-5 seasons.
Yeah, it tended to be that tv shows was comfort watching and films were "serious" watching. Now it's the opposite.
>you can have as background noise
What is the fricking deal with this? I see this posted more and more. Are zoomers terrified of doing things in silence that you have to put literal "noise" on? Why not listen to music then?
I'm 37 and work from home around 60 hours a week, and have been doing so for almost 20 years.
Sometimes you're just doing mindless work that needs to get done but isn't taxing so you want something in the background to half pay attention to so the days go faster.
Sometimes it's music, sometimes it's podcasts, sometimes it's old tv shows from before the 'golden era' where everything turned into LOST or Breaking Bad with it's continual story arcs, sometimes it's the entire Arrowverse or all of Supernatural because frick it why not.
Yea those things you mentioned make sense except for shows since they are a visual medium. Seeing people describe shows as "noise" is very dystopian.
It's 2024 most people have multiple monitors or an extra pad or whatever. It's not hard to do one thing while having some show or something playing on a different screen next to you.
That's literally what this thread is talking about, how older shows like the office or whatever are easy background noise you don't need to be focusing on 100% to follow along.
I have a 4 monitor setup while working and only use 3 of them at all times for work. The 4th is generally for online meetings or a viewscreen for movies/tv shows.
Also, you really don't need to WATCH every second of a show like NYPD Blue or Cheers or Fraiser. Glancing up once or twice every 20-30 seconds while the rest is in your perphrial won't change your enjoyment much.
>he thinks zoomers invented background noise
Yeah yeah we get it grandpa, back in your day you didn't have time for background noise walking to school uphill in a mountain of snow.
background noise has historically been music. You have people over you put music on in the background. Putting shows on, a visual medium makes no sense and describing it as "noise" is just sad like how youtubers boil down what they do as "content". It's like if I was a chef and decided to rename myself as a "Protein and Carbohydrates Combiner"
Do you know how much AM radio I had to hear because of my grandparents as a kid? I personally don't do the background noise thing but it's not a new concept. Nature abhors a vacuum (of sound).
For my mother it was 'The Weather Channel' that was always on like some kind of audio wallpaper.
Again it makes sense for that and music as it is designed to be listened to but we are talking about a visual medium here.
>background noise
If you label it as that then you are admitting it's not something you are paying attention to and just need some form of noise playing at all times.
>If you label it as that then you are admitting it's not something you are paying attention to and just need some form of noise playing at all times.
Not even remotely, but if you need to tell yourself that so you can sleep better at night thinking you're better than us because you don't have TV on in the background sometimes, go for it.
>Not even remotely
>literally describes what he is doing as background noise
ok
Clearly you misunderstand. Occasionally putting on a show as background noise when I have a few hours at work is not even remotely close to
>need[ing] some form of noise playing at all times.
>background noise
every time you describe what you are doing as this just makes me more correct
>If you label it as that then you are admitting it's not something you are paying attention to and just need some form of noise playing at all times.
We're half paying attention to it. That's the point.
How autistic are you that this simple concept is difficult for you to grasp?
I don't think I am the autistic one here since I can function without "background noise". I have been working and posting here the last 6 hours in complete silence. Are you capable of doing that?
Sure i'm capable. It would be boring as frick though and i'd be happier with some background noise, so i'll just do that.
>background noise activates my dopamine receptors and makes me happy
>just need some form of noise playing at all times.
The problem is that in the modern world, there already is some sort of noise playing at all times. I live close to a fairly busy street, so if I want to leave the window open, I'm listening to cars driving by. If I'm forced to listen to something, I'd rather it be something enjoyable when I do tune into it.
i use a box fan
Writers suck giant poopy dicks whose only purpose is to write the most degenerate shit possible.
Also race washing is gay
>people read books 2000 years ago
>this is normal
>people watch TV from 10 years ago
>woah wtf!11!
I unsubscribed from Netflix when they removed old SNL.
I just brought this up yesterday in a Fallout thread. This shit is cringey as frick, along with comic book./ super hero fantasy BULLSHIT. If I was 14 years old watching this shit I would roll my eyes and turn it off for being so nerdy and frickin GAY
I like watching shows that aren't politicised and have white people in.
zoomers are not watching tvshows
they are watching streamers
simple
>Here's 8 episodes
>Remember to tune in 3 years from now for another 8!
I think another "problem" is a lot of TV shows now have bigger stars. This started with True Detective. So now they have to work around busier schedules. Also, writers are lazy and entitled.
This. I've lost count of how many shows I stopped watching after one season because by the time the second came out I couldn't remember what happened and I didn't like it enough to rewatch
A friend of mine who works on TV shows says this happens because of unions. If they make too many episodes a season they have to pay out more due to union rules which is why you see 8-12 season episodes now. You would think the smarter route to making people stay subscribed to your service is a cheaper show with 25 seasons but apparently that is not possible with unions
>25 seasons
25 episodes*
>Says it happens because of unions
>Then describes it happening because of greedy money-grubbing executives
No they don't make 25 episodes because it isn't cheap due to unions.
They don't make 22 episode seasons because it would reduce executives' profits.
That doesnt make any sense, you're an idiot
You just said it would cost more money for the executives so they don't do it. Do you understand what that means for profits?
Greed... is good
I didnt say anything, just the idea that more episode per season take away from profits makes no frickin sense.
I'm just going by what was claimed in
Thats moronic too, the actors union has been around forever. Frickin Reagan helped create it
>Thats moronic too, the actors union has been around forever. Frickin Reagan helped create it
Yes and unions go on strike and demand more changes and more money. They just hada massive one.
>Mr. Goldblatt wants shorter seasons because unions made it less/unprofitable to make more
Yea what is the confusion? Go complain to the unions.
Unions didn't make it less profitable. Unions switched how much of the profit goes to the workers and actors vs. the executives. Unions made it less profitable for executives and more profitable for non-executives.
Its so easy to pick out the little kids thats never worked a job with a union before..
>Unions didn't make it less profitable
>Unions switched how much of the profit goes to the workers and actors vs. the executives
Yes that literally makes it less profitable for people that invested their money into the show/film.
Greed... is good if unions do it
>Unions want longer seasons
>Consumers want longer seasons
>Mr. Goldblatt wants shorter seasons
>So we get shorter seasons
I'm so glad we optimized society this way.
>implying the Unions are not run by israelites too
amazing
The writers' union wants a set minimum amount of writers per episode and this is a key reason that seasons are so short. Before you had 1-2 writers per episode plus a singular overall writer for the season.
If you did 22 episode seasons now you'd need hundreds or thousands of writers, and it wouldn't work out. Imagine the amount of residuals they'd have to spend?
And yes, the minimum amount of writers results in a slew of fat morons in the writing room. It's a way to sneak in diversity quotas.
Yes people make shows because they want to make money. What a novel concept.
This is definitely a huge issue. They take some massive breaks between seasons that lots of people just lose all interest. They keep letting fires burn out and try start a new one instead of feeding the fire to keep it burning.
Arcane was a gigantic success, a video game show that was so good tons of people who have never even heard of league of legends watched it and cried over it. Where the frick is season 2? They've already waited too long and nobody even gives a shit anymore.
I feel like it's been nearly 2 years since the last Cobra Kai season like what the frick?
Stranger Things started when the stars were literal little kids, millie is like a 20 year old woman now and they still haven't finished the show.
Invincible season 2 started a little bit ago and i haven't watched any of it yet, i have zero interest or desire of even watching it anymore. I haven't forgot season 1 but it's been so long i just don't care anymore, i've lost interest.
These shows don't even all have huge stars or anything, some of it is even animated and cartoon. How the frick are you taking 2 year breaks between seasons this is ridiculous.
Severance season 1 came out in February of 2022 and was a success and ended on a cliff hanger. No season 2 yet.
>This is definitely a huge issue. They take some massive breaks between seasons that lots of people just lose all interest. They keep letting fires burn out and try start a new one instead of feeding the fire to keep it burning.
It would help if they used a system where they released episodes weekly. That way you don't binge watch a show, but instead it becomes a cultural phenomenon that grows over the course of a few months.
Also they should have mini-channels and subscriptions. Channels for styles of content. Hit the "Romcom" channel, and it's a selection of romantic series. And you can just subscribe to studios and series like youtube and then check your subs for new episodes.
>It would help if they used a system where they released episodes weekly.
they are starting to do that more and more. Shogun was released weekly despite being finished and ready to push out from day 1.
The netflix season binge release model is beginning to die out i think as companies get wise that audiences lose interest quickly if the show is available to them quickly. It stays in the public psyche for less time as people arent invested in the show any more until the next season, which is years away.
The netflix model seems to work really well if its a one-off miniseries because it can be watched in one afternoon but it obviously is making less of a cultural impact than TV shows did when people were tuning in weekly and the show was staying relevant for years on end.
>Arcane was a gigantic success
They had no way of knowing it would be a gigantic success and couldn't risk funding a season 2 without season 1 coming out.
Season 1 took 6 years to create. I don't understand why people expect them to be able to shit out season 2 in 1-2 years.
The problem is greenlighting a season 2 in the first place instead of just leaving it as a one and done.
because theyre shit
Jews + DEI hires. Simple as.
>it must be le woke!
Not everybody is a culture war homosexual, you know.
Everyone hates left wingers now kys you piece of shit
That pic is what the average israelite writer / producer / pedophile looks like. Yes all the non-Christian networks are all pedophiles.
Blackrock ESG mandates make everything bland and ugly.
They cast off church, moral lessons, and character for racial directives, greed and narcissism. The basic product the israeli network sells is evil (racism, igniting class struggle). They are thieves. It’s not enough to make a separate black mermaid. It has to be Ariel!
Old shows have more seasons to binge. Most modern shows get cancelled after one or two seasons.
>modern shows get cancelled after one or two seasons.
Because nobodys watching the dogshit you dumb butthole
Millennials only watch The Office, Seinfeld, and Friends on repeat on the background.
When I was growing up people still watched Happy Days and listened to Led Zepplin, which were 20 years old at that point, the classic are the classics and you're all moronic.
>Happy Days
Still a good show though even today compared to modern garbage and I am 24. The Fonz literally ended racism
>Modern shows have 8 episodes
>Old shows have 100+
>Most people would much rather rewatch old shows they know are good than challenge themselves with something new
It's simple maths. Not everything has a political reason.
>Most people would much rather rewatch old shows they know are good than challenge themselves with something new
You are admitting though Hollywood has put off a lot of people and stopped creating engaging stuff
Yes, I am admitting that. I'm sure there are still good shows, but I just don't feel any desire to watch something that I'll finish in one weekend and don't know whether or not it'll ever get a conclusion.
This guy gets it.
Episodic tv is terrible in 2024, and serialized tv is too slow in 2024.
At least with network tv you knew if a shows coming back it's coming back in like 9 months after it ends, but now we're regularly getting 2-4 years between seasons.
My gf started watching older 2000s-2010s slop like Gossip Girl and some firefighters show too.
What the hell was Michael meant to be, was he a Black, was he a mexican, was he an arab
was he just a very tanned white person
probably some kind of mongrel. looks afrojeet to me.
Did streaming platforms always have so many older shows or did they pile them up over time?
The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away.
All the television and films you enjoyed as a kid were funded by israelites.
How long until some streaming platform suit capitalizes on this and greenlights a show that replicates the 2000s vibe not just aesthetically but in narrative estructure and format too?
I don't think modern writers are capable of emulating the 00s feel
yeah, they'd ruin it by hiring millennial and gen-x writers who are all twitter addicts. You need to get away from the problem.
But the first thing is that such a show would immediately come under fire for various -isms immediately.
Because it's older people watching them for nostalgia. Younger people are too busy watching tiktok
it's not just that lol gen z aren't these supermutans you guys all think they are. They're depressed and lazy and dumb like anyone despite what shit like tiktok makes them seem and they love sitting around watching shoes.
The problem really is that all the female writers have basically fricked it all up and new shows/movies all just kinda suck now.
It's like every single meal has been turned into a good enough frozen cooked meal.
>food analogy
All the shows that still feel like syndication era shows are from Korea, Turkey, India and Hispanic countries.
There's not even any cultural relevance to any streaming show. You're not involved in any conversation after having watched any of it.
I don't have any streaming service since I pirate, and I have an adblocker. So few people are talking about most new shows, even on here, that I haven't even heard about any streaming only shows since, like, Voltron.
I’m obsessed with everybody loves Raymond
Try Yes, Dear next if you haven't.
crazy huh
Why the frick would anybody watch modern shows?
Funny, this is also true of video games. Literally nobody is actually in favor of the low effort girlboss trannified garbage that is being shoved onto society from every angle.
If you actually look at that list though it's all a bunch of live service games like Fortnite, GTA Online, Minecraft, LoL etc.
Which makes sense. After you've played the handful of 15-20 hour experiences a year that you're interested in you have to fill the gaming void with something.
Most of everything is old and is easy to watch it. Older stuff is EVEN easier to watch than new shit because they will charge you money for a lot of new shows/movies
>100 years of film / tv shows
>1 year of MODERN shows
Im loving this zoomer cope. Are you too moronic to realize all the old gays remember actually looking forward to shit?
Everything coming out now sucks
I don't want to watch anti-Whiteness, homosexualry, Black folk, feminism and interracial sex. Therefore I don't watch new shows.
Have sex, incel.
ESG/DEI/Inclusive Capitalism
I'm watching Alias with my wife, it's not a great show but it's decent. Her work partner and her best friend are black and we're 1.5 seasons in and their color has never been mentioned.
>we're 1.5 seasons in
You better stop really soon.
When should I stop? End of season 2?
yes. the ending gives a flavor for whats to come and it sucks ass. it never recovers from S3.
First three seasons are solid. Then the creator started working on LOST instead and stopped giving a frick about Alias, so it turned really dull.
>Why is nobody watching modern shows?
this is Amazons Diversity Quota in 2022 I think so it'll be much worse now
know that incoming Warhammer 40k show?
yeah why'd you think they retconned female custodes into it and is actively banning anyone on social media & their own forums for disagreeing with it
did fallout meet this?
to a tee as I understand it (I'll never watch it)
I just realised that Leland Stottlemeyer is played by the guy from Silence of the Lambs
My mind has been blown
is gilmore girls good?
Never heard of it before
that's because you're a zoomer (aka a moron)
I'm not American
