Despite what these shitty movies tell you not every spider-men was bitten by a radioactive spider, some got his powers in other ways and got other powers. Spider-man noir for example can't wallcrawl, Jessica Drew the not Black person can fly, etc (again despite what these shitty movies tell you because they don't care about the source material only make Miles the main char and the goodest and bestest of the Spider-men). Miguel just used spider dna to remove a drug used by his company to control him and his powers are different from Peter's, for example he doesn't have spider-sense, just heat vision, night-vision and tremor sense, and his fangs are to inject poison, not to suck blood.
Capeshit movies do not follow source material well. There is a formula involved, one that is treasured and used over and over again. But you have to include the right buzz words, the right cast of characters, the right insert political commentary of today, and not offend anyone and find a scapegoat in case the movie failed.

Projection. You criticize others for getting their news from mainstream media outlets while getting yours from anonymous internet conspiracy tards with room temperature IQs, which is kind of like burning your house down because your toaster keeps burning your toast. You're a moron who has been deluded by the Dunning-Kruger effect into thinking he's enlightened. You're also a schizo since you bring up vaccines and shit for absolutely no reason while we're discussing an Indiana Jones film. You aren't worth the effort it would take to craft a personalized meme just for you. You're a clown.

protip: instead of reading in-between the lines, try to read the lines
Last Crusade > Lost Ark > Crystal Skull > Temple of Doom
What surprised me was how much I enjoyed crystal skull. it had some serious stupid moments and decisions, explicitly the CGI fest of an ending, but the high points were super good.
>What surprised me was how much I enjoyed crystal skull.
yes, this is truly the opinion of one whom ranks temple of doom last
thank you for proving the point
again, it ISNT up for debate
>oh and last crusade is just perfect >Weak retread of Raiders >Indy's entire personality is developed over the course of a single day as a teenager >zero stakes- oh no the antique collector might live forever >Marcus and Sallah are demoted to incompetent comic relief morons >excessively sappy and sentimental
>>zero stakes- oh no the antique collector might live forever
the reveal that the collector was taking the grail was only at the end in the tomb, until then Indy and his father were trying to keep it out of the Nazi's hands
Imagine preferring CGI green screen glowBlack person nonsense action over practical, authentic and immaculately storyboarded set pieces. Imagine preferring a sanitized committee approved kid friendly PG-13 Indy adventure for the whole family so spineless it won't even kill a prairie dog over brutal Nazi murdering awesomeness in which Indy racks up a double digit body count without a shred of remorse. Imagine preferring an elderly man wearing a halloween costume who can barely run at a decent clip over a lantern jawed whip cracking badass in the prime of his life. Imagine preferring an elderly woman who can't even drive over Aryan goddess Elsa Schneider. Imagine preferring PART TIME to no ticket. Imagine preferring Shia Lebouf over Sean fricking Connery.
Hard to believe there are people with tastes this shit that actually exist.
>Connery and the book signing scene are the only good things about it. And the score's alright I suppose.
Three things is three more than Crystal Skull which does not have a single redeeming quality.

The comedy in ToD was moronic as well, I don't know what went wrong after Raiders where they decided Looney Tunes would be the best place to draw inspiration from
The scene where Indy shoots the swordsman should have been the foundation for the comedy for the whole series
It’s weird, I really enjoyed ToD and didn’t know it was unpopular until recently. No idea why. Badass opening scene with the music, action, and James Bond themes. Actual scary bad guys, just enough “magic” stuff it make it interesting without going over the top. The kid and girl were fine and had great energy between the 3 of them. I don’t claim it’s the best but it’s certainly good as hell
Capeshit movies do not follow source material well. There is a formula involved, one that is treasured and used over and over again. temple of doom was always popular. the hate is recent and purely for political reasons aka indians and chinese pissing about the representation of their oppressed yellow and brown asses
>the hate is recent and purely for political reasons aka
i see it as reddit consensus, small-brains think wikipedia or rotten tomatoes is reality, so when the internet tells them to think something they do
which was always stupid, the Indians in the village that he encounters are totally fine. It's the nutjob Thugee cult where all the cultural taboo dinner shit happens so its not like that is a reflection of Indian culture anyway.
>will normies now start to pretend to like this movie after the RLM's review?
I certainly am going to be championing this movie and quote RLM in order to make Cinemaphile hate this movie just as much as I do.
Raiders is the best and always will be
ToD is fun, but it feels more like a cartoon, it's a roller coaster but not nearly as good as Raiders and you're a fool to think otherwise
I watched this movie a lot as a kid and I do admit as an adult it can seem pretty offensive, but RLM reminded me of just how beautiful the sets are in this. Every modern hollywood woke bullshit movie can preach how progressive it is, but it's all so fake compared with how much they used to care about their sets before cgi and being scared of cultural appropriation. I agree with RLM this is the more visually interesting Indie movies, even though it plot is pulpy. But that just better aligns with the source material of his character and setting.
Well also everyone seems to misunderstand the "culturally insensitive" stuff in Doom and the fact that it's totally self aware. Lucas and Spielberg are poking fun at the way those adventure serials always portrayed other cultures. The joke is not "haha Indian people are weird" the joke is "can you believe we actually used to think this is what Indians were like?"
It's referencing Lawrence of Arabia.
Which was accurate in that people used to eat Pacha even with the eyeballs and it was more of a show how respectful he was, he'd even go past his own taboos, than how savage they were.
Of course it's played for laughs in Indy but people are utterly full of shit if they think people in southeast asia doesn't eat offbeat meat like tripe, brains and fish eyeballs. Once you move beyond food into "medicinal" food you get some near inedible shit like various insects, viper alcohol and so on.
Even just a few hours of "exotic food" reviewers will show this, much less any actual indepth study, but instead the average normalgay wastes time talking out of their ass about how culturally offensive it is and how horrible you are for saying it. (even if it's actually true)
