WORLD EXCLUSIVE: Christopher Nolan will direct BOND 26

SCOOP: Yesterday Nolan signed on to write and direct Bond 26. I have been told that an official announcement is imminent. Nolan has an idea, but the writing will only begin after the end of the WGA strike. The movie will be the first coproduction between Barbara Broccoli's EON Productions and Chris Nolan's SYNCOPY Inc.

Nolan was talking about how he would love to do a Bond film awhile back. When I read that, I thought there's no way they don't hire him. The Bond franchise is dead as frick now. I don't think Nolan can even bring it back, but whatever.

It was during the press tour for Tenet wasn't it? Talking about how he did Tenet because he wants to do Bond but with a twist

      >Nolan was talking about how he would love to do a Bond film awhile back
He also said in the same interview that he'd only do it if he had total creative control, which the Bond people would never give him. I don't think it would ever happen, despite him being a rather obvious choice.

To be honest, the Bond people are what's wrong with this franchise.

He should take the James Bond 007 series back to the mid-20th century as a restarting point. It could start during the late 1950s or early 1960s, but pretend that none of the later adventures had already happened. It is just Bond during the earlier phase of the Cold War. Kino ensues.

      Anonymous

Am I the only other person who agrees with this approach? Send 007 back to the early Cold War era. Maybe it will look something like a cross between the early Sean Connery films and The Man From U.N.C.L.E., or even Mad Men, but I believe it could still have a character of its own.

Nolan's filmography is getting worse and worse. Interstellar? Dunkirk? Tenet? These films are garbage. I haven't seen Oppenheimer but I'm worried it'll somehow be even worse than Tenet. I shudder to imagine what Nolan will do to Bond. He'll probably leave the project when Broccoli tells him Bond must have a transgender love interest.

    How to revitalise Bond:
    >set it in space again
    >go full camp gadget thriller
    >2 and a half hours of pure fun
    >cavill as bond as long as he doesn't sperge on set
    >Brie larson as the femme fatale
    >full frontal nudity scene of those breasts

Just making a really good action movie, where Bond is a fun character again, is really all the franchise needs. The whole Daniel Craig "serious" approach was novel for like one movie, but ultimately shit like The Fast and the Furious or John Wick just ended up filling the void left behind by real Bond movies, while the Craig series dwindled in terms of cultural relevancy.

Nolan can't don't anything like a bond, marvel or star wars film.

If you look at all his films, everything is about time. In Memento, time goes backwards as Guy Pearce's memory comes back. In Inception time is compressed as you go deeper into the unconscious. In Interstellar you have time dilation due to gravity where 1 hour on a planet is 7 years on Earth. In Dunkirk each main story plot is divided into time segments - 1 week on the beach scens, 1 day on the boat scenes, 1 hour in the spitfire scenes. In Tenet the flow of time is reversed. He will mess it up trying to fit his time gimmick into something like a Bond film which should have it's own recognised pastiches.

      Anonymous

That is true. Nolan could make a geeky Bond, checking out his watch all the time, getting infos on it or something. Have a vilain obsessed with time too, telling Bond to act within 18 hours to save the world or whatever.
Could have Time in the title too, but...No time to die has been done already, so he'd have to be smart.
God, he'll probably ruin it all haha.

Who cares stupid franchise and overrated director. His movies are all so fricking boring and sterile, he doesn't know how to tell a complex story without literally having the characters explain what's happening to the audience. Honestly can't think of one great movie he made Memento is pretty good the rest is super average or overrated. I remember there was a time when people thought the dark knight was the greatest movie of all time.

Maybe not having to force an accent would help, but I'm not holding my breath. Also he took his wife's last name. His wife who is almost 60. Fricking embarrassing. I know people throw shade at Brosnan's wife but at least she was hot when they first got together.
