Agreed on all counts, anon. I never understood what the frick is so bad about it. It's classic Bond. Great and hot Bond girls, exciting and lively action, great setpieces and Pierce as good as always. I always found the theme to be very soulful, considering the time period.
So was Brosnan. He also got passed on the role two times and it was taken as fact that he would be an eternal what-if and never take the role. By the time Goldeneye was being made, he was around Henry's age right now. He was 42. It didn't stop him from being in a classic Bond film when he was just a what-if years before and did multiple roles and commercials in that Bond type of role making people accept he'd never be Bond. It's not over for Henry, not by any metric.

He’s barely done any acting but was ‘discovered’ at a Tom Ford show by a producer and invited to at least two meetings with various studio bigwigs. I can share a bit of semi-inside knowledge. A close friend’s younger brother is a model in London. He’s barely done any acting but was ‘discovered’ at a Tom Ford show by a producer and invited to at least two meetings with various studio bigwigs. I don’t know if they’ve even screentested him but it’s interesting they’re looking at basically unknowns - like they did with Lazenby. They’re clearly casting a wide net.

He's too masculine for Bond. Bond is a bit of a girly action hero, winning the day with smarm and products instead of integrity and strength. Cavill is more of a man's man, despite not being into sports.
All I know is, Timothy Dalton was an excellent Bond and they should have made a third one with him. With China setting and CZJ as Bond girl, it would have been one for the ages.
