Perhaps a bond villain, maybe. He's not quite relaxed enough to pull off bond if that makes any sense. Too pretty and not enough raw rugged energy. You want a guy who's handsome but also looks kind of like the world took a bite out of him.

      Anonymous

Yes he's the only one who can play the role out of all the actors available. The rest do not match at all.

Better to get him anyway. Tell me of ONE actor who fits that description, plus you're thinking of it through the Sean Connery lens and not the Bond one. Bond in the books is no stunner but he fits Cavill perfectly by description. Give him the cheek scar and it's perfect.

        Anonymous

Actually I was thinking of it through the sean connery lenses as well as the daniel Craig lenses. I don't want bond to be some type cast pretty boy who's just copy pasted from capeshit, which cavill is.
Making him bond would be moronic since he's already been a spy in other movies as well as superman. He isn't lesser known, which an actor for Bond is always better off as.

You don't know how show business works, do you? If he's been a spy multiple times, (man from uncle shit) chances are he's not going to carry the bond name this time around. He's also too recognized as superman and film makers know this would be a distraction.

In a hypothetical situation, this would be about as moronic as making let's say, Tom Holland as Robin. Nobody would see him as fricking robin after he's already been established in other capeshit.

Cavill would've been a good bond, but not anymore. Due to being known too much for other roles of a similar nature.

              Anonymous

So was Brosnan. He also got passed on the role two times and it was taken as fact that he would be an eternal what-if and never take the role. By the time Goldeneye was being made, he was around Henry's age right now. He was 42. It didn't stop him from being in a classic Bond film when he was just a what-if years before and did multiple roles and commercials in that Bond type of role making people accept he'd never be Bond. It's not over for Henry, not by any metric.

How so? I think if he slimmed down a bit, he is quite good as Bond. Dark hair, blue eyes, strong jaw and from what i've seen, guys respect and admire him and women want him. He's the safe, as you said, but good option. Social media plays a part now and it would be smart to just give in, provided they get someone good behind the lens. Maybe Campbell again?

Cavill probably wouldn't do it anyway for the same reason I just said. He knows people know him too much as superman and this would likely make his career dormant for a few years after the fact due to burnout.

It would be ironic that the guy that looks AI generated to be the perfect Bond never gets the shot. His acting is mid but I still think the potential is there.
I was thinking about it and Cavill strikes me as the analogue to Chris Hemsworth. Both big handsome guys known for just being pretty faces, while Hemsworth can't do dramatic acting to save his life but has natural charisma and comedic timing, on the other hand Cavill has more of a brain for serious roles but not the natural talent. I think he'd be fine, the kino would rely entirely on the script.

This. I think he's tailor made for it. He needs to one before he gets on in years. I think they could squeeze a trilogy out of him.

Sounds like a you problem. I watched MFU, which was basically like a Bond movie by Cavill, and i didn't think of his capeshit roles even once. The general audience won't care as DC and capeshit are dead and James Bond is prime for a return to reign over the box office and he'd be the guy to do it considering most people already think of him as such. Also

A highly lucrative long term role like Bond that could last him late to his 50s is a guarantor hell always be incredibly wealthy. Its why Craig did the last one when he clearly didn't want to. 60's period piece with Henry Cavill as Bond and Sydney Sweeney or Ella Balinska as Bond girls. A shitty movie like Oppenheimer is edging out to a billion and it was a boring period drama, now imagine a Bond movie. Think of it like this. Zoomers are a generation without an identity and who use fictional media characters to imitate to give them that sense of belonging and their embracing of old school masculine ideals more and more. James Bond served that purpose back in the 60's and ever since. He's the first 'literally me' character in movie history. It would make insane money if it appealed to this generation's growing need for manly role models, ala Ryan Gosling. All the ingredients are there.

Why not? Zoomers fetishize every time period other than their own and Oppenheimer made crazy money so period pieces can work just fine, even with Bond. Do what other big media have done for the 80's. Give zoomers another craze to follow and you'll get their money.

Depends on the type of Bond movie. If the movie was to be like Craig movies then no however he can play the role in a camp Bond movie no doubt.

I can share a bit of semi-inside knowledge. A close friend’s younger brother is a model in London. He’s barely done any acting but was ‘discovered’ at a Tom Ford show by a producer and invited to at least two meetings with various studio bigwigs. I don’t know if they’ve even screentested him but it’s interesting they’re looking at basically unknowns - like they did with Lazenby. They’re clearly casting a wide net.

A few years ago they were optioning Jaime Bell of all people so it probably will be a cheap actor they can snag for multiple films with a small contract.

Highly unlikely. They'll want someone in between. That said, Lazenby was too kino in a mesmerizing way. This guy could do it. Called Tom Britney, no memorable film roles. Was considered for the new Superman, apparently. Better than a black actor.

He's too masculine for Bond. Bond is a bit of a girly action hero, winning the day with smarm and products instead of integrity and strength. Cavill is more of a man's man, despite not being into sports.

All I know is, Timothy Dalton was an excellent Bond and they should have made a third one with him. With China setting and CZJ as Bond girl, it would have been one for the ages.

I agree with the people that would prefer to see him play a villain. Get him out of the typecast 'suave British gentleman' archetype and go in a different direction. Cavill's done Sherlock Holmes and Man from Uncle, we've seen it.

Bond does need a bit of grit to him, and Cavill is on some transcendental meditation shit and plays Warhammer. I'm more for Tom Hardy playing him.

Not a chance. Only Connery the god himself could pass with a rugged Bond. Generally, i'd go for this guy Sam Caflin. He looks a bit buff but posh too. He's 37, so perfect age for Bond in my eyes.

    NEXT 007 RUMORS

    >Henry Cavill on top contender to play the next James Bond with Martin Campbell set to direct the franchise reboot yet again
    >franchise will to return to being silly but sexy spy movie à la Connery & Moore era with goofy gadgets à la Brosnan era stylishness
    >new Spectre will be akin to BRICS with villains from countries under the said group
    >working titles "With All Due Respect" & "Project: RoseGold" (2 different scripts)

Cavill may already be Bond. When he went to Amazon for Warhammer it felt like a teaser for the real announcement next year. They own the Bond franchise now so it could have been part of the deal.
