I like the nu games tbh. l was late to the party because I was resistant due to loving the original games so much and not liking the camera perspective change but I ended up really enjoying them. If you think the nu games are trash wait until you see what Amazon does with them.

The new games mean a lot more if you play thr old games first. I legitimately didn’t know the blades of chaos were in 2018 I thought the axe was the new weapon so when he goes home to get them that was a genuinely cool and nostalgic surprise

Yeah, I did. It's great though bogged down at times by some real shit. The Valhalla expansion was surprisingly great too.
There's a webm from Cinemaphile which shows everything wrong with it. Basically Kratos gives into a boat and paddles down stream for about 2 minutes while someone is spouting exposition. It was really boring and unfun.
BTW, Kratos being unable to jump makes everything in both the viking games feel so dumb. One of the key plot goals of the first one is reaching the top of a mountain. You just know it's well within Kratos' power to Hulk jump his way up the mountain, but a tiny little gap stops him. Likewise there's so many other little bitty obstacles in your path that Kratos could just hop over if this was PS2 era Kratos.

Those are actually cool parts of the game at least in the first, you don't have to listen to it either but there are interesting mythological stories that characters tell.

God of war ragnarok was good but it felt like the cutscenes interrupted the gameplay too frequently and some of the dialogue really was very MCU “I DO NOT NEED A SNACK.”

Nah, it's good too just has horrible moments in the game where progress screeches to a halt. I replayed it once on hard but wasn't willing to do a gmgow run specifically because I couldn't be fricked trudging through those sections again.
