>wonka but with Black folk
no thank you
It was good (no reason why it wouldn't have been, same guy who did the Paddington movies) and it turned a profit. Just Cinemaphile being fat and wrong as always.
This guy vomiting at the mention of poor people for the first time genuinely had my cinema laughing for a solid minute. Was a surreal experience seeing that much joy in a packed theatre. Usually people hold it in but this guy broke open the floodgates.
Rest of the film was a fricking delight with nobody afraid to laugh out loud. I'm an ausgay so our cinemas are usually pretty quiet to be polite.
I thought the final scene where he sings "Pure Imagination" as the factory appears was delightful.
Chalamet's got some pipes on him
>Have you got a sweet tooth?
How do you respond without sounding hungry?
>Matt Lucas
Solid way to prevent me from ever watching your movie.
I had no clue Key was the chief, I thought he was just a tanned white guy this whole time. Funny.
I watched this for free in a rundown cinema. Very SOVLful strangely and life-affirming.
extremely organic thread right here, gentlemen
You sound like you could use eighteen-hundred boxes.
nah, normies have shit taste
What's with the "Paddington 2 is kino" memes? I'm a huge fan of the books and the movies are soulless garbage in comparison
Reddit meme produced by a PR team much like this very thread
watched it 2 days ago and it's fricking trash. typical soulless Hollywood garbage, 100% predictable, and you have to look at this gay rat the entire time
/shill thread
Seething Slugworth BTFO
Interesting... Post a photo of your ticket then.
I hate this homosexual. Why can't the israelites just be happy with producing movies, now we gotta see their disgenic offspring starring in them? No thanks
Did this need another remake?
It's a prequel anon. We pretend the johnny Depp wonka doesn't exist.
2/5 i didn't like it
I wish Peeles character was played by a woman so over the course of the movie she would bloat up haha
It was an objectively good film but its difficult to see how the Wonka from the end of this film becomes the Wonka from the other adaptations this is supposed to be a prequel to
he gets spiked with PCP & LSD and is the victim of violent sexual assault
Ah, another totally organic "You guys made me think Wonka was woke/shit, but I went to see it [for some unexplained reason] and it actually wasn't, you guys, you guys!" thread.
>[for some unexplained reason]
I watched it with my family. We had fun.
There are two possibilities:
>you're lying
>you're the kind of person who knowingly subjects their children to current-year Hollywood, Black person-filled (in a fricking Charlie and the Chocolate Factory prequel!) trash
Either way, your opinion can be safely discarded.
Jesus. What happened to you as a child?
See this...
And if going to see a derivative, nog-packed modern Hollywood offering (starring the uncharismatic israeli twink du jour) is your idea of "fun", I'm not sure we're the same species.
Fun is not allowed.
Nice trips, but you missed my point. I've seen innumerable Wonka threads exactly like this one over the past few weeks, and *invariably* the totally-not-a-shill OP goes to see the film in spite of having been convinced it would be woke/shit, without any explanation as to why. Because that's totally normal behaviour: you're convinced an experience will be awful... so you pay to experience it anyway. (And you should totally value the opinions of someone who behaves like that.)
If OP had said "I didn't want to see it, but there was nothing else on, and I was dragged along by X", that would at least be somewhat believable (though I'd still question their judgement generally). I realise I'm helping the shill(s) be more convincing in the future, but Wonka's run is probably nearly over already, so I doubt it'll make any difference now.
You expect people to write an entire detailed narrative for their reasons to seeing a movie? OP probably just went with friends like a normal person. It's not that deep.
The black people aren't conspiring to hurt you anyone, relax.
Shalom
>You expect people to write an entire detailed narrative
Nope. Just one sentence, or even part of a sentence. And do you expect me, having observed countless threads for this film all written/presented in the *exact* same manner...
>pic of Wonka poster
>wtf
>you guys told me Wonka would be shit/woke
>but it was actually great
...to believe this shit for a second? Obvious shilling is obvious, unless you're a moron, or you're in favour of this sh…
>The black people aren't conspiring to hurt you anyone
Oh, quelle surprise.
Took my mom and sister to see it. The music was honestly the part I was hoping would be the saving grace... boy was I wrong. The "scrub scrub" song was very annoyingly bad. The "If you want to view paradise" repraise came too late to win back the favor based on nostalgia. The villan(s) song was a lame attempt. The innkeepers are just a shallow ripoff of the Thenardier's from Les Mis, which is a BORING plot thread. The board of 3 homosexuals makes so many bad jokes and "scrummy faces" that I wanted to puke. Go watch the Johnny Dep Charlie and the Chocolate factory for a better experience, because that one was also garbage but at least it had soul. Timothay was probably the most bareable part of the flick, but he can not sew the anti-hero mystique of Wonka and he's too sweet and sentimental to be the man, origins or not. Also the subplot that he can't fricking read is the most moronic plot device I've ever heard. Good day
What the frick? The movie was garbage, literally for kids.
>This kids movie is for kids!
>my kids movie needs to be dumbed down and spoonfed to them, kids have no sense of context building and we don't need to allow them to delevope such
>1 x 10ft violet ball
>No images or videos of this prop exist in any of the film's behind the scenes material
Damn
I think of it as being like illuminations grinch. Certainly garbage, but nothing will be worse than the Carey and Depp films.
>oh my dear, it's just your orphan syndrome
Im so happy Noodle didn't go off on some SJW woke rant about punching down in retort to this statement.
The choclate mafia trio were kind of fun. I especially liked the scrawny guy gagging at the word poor, but the glasses guy's schtick being that he reiterates the same notion but recklessly blunt was tiring.
I did like Rowan Adkinson as the corrupt priest
>"no little girl, we shouldnt steal! Thats wrong!"
>steals milk from an animal that is city property
>steals balloons to dance on rooftops with
In the Gene Wilder film I believe Wonka said he owned Slugworth's company, is this true or am I misremembering? If he did then I wonder how it went from Slugworth's arrest to Wonka acquiring the company, I'm assuming he got rich and all his dreams came true and yada yada, but then did he create a flase advertisement in that he had no intention of following through the "slugworth" spy's offer to the kids?
But if he didn't own Slugworth then didn't the spy experiment he did with the golden ticket winners count as misrepresenting and defaming Slugworth for such tactics and attacked his character?
I'm still not seeing this homosexual israelite garbage.
I've read shill call-out threads since I started coming to this board and now that I have a marketing job in the film industry I want you all to know that nobody knows Cinemaphile exists no one is spending $$$ to try to influence you idiots because you are not a demographic that matters
>no one is spending $$$
Doesn't mean they're not spending $. And/or that israelites or Black person-loving homosexuals aren't shilling this independently.
It was ok. Not amazing, not terrible. Too many pointless/mediocre songs, but it had its moments.
Better than Burton’s, worse than Gene Wilder’s.
