Comparing a fricking hack like Bendis to Kirby is frankly not helping the argument. They were completely ignorant about his declining popularity or the sentiment regarding his dialogue.

I mean sure Bendis is bad, but Kirby's books despite all the acclaim, weren't doing anywhere near Fantastic Four numbers either. All his Fourth World books were cancelled due to low sales.

            Anonymous

Fifty year old, unverifiable sales numbers don’t really have a place here.
Besides which, Kirby didn’t frick up anything that was already there and his work has been drawn upon by generations of writers and artists.
Bendis is still not comparable to Kirby.

can we get a story from Jurgens kind of like DC Generations but just only starring SuperLex and Bat-Gordan ala Nu52 Worlds' Finest with E2 Powergirl/Huntress. I just want those version of those two characters to interaction.

This proves that DC is so disconnected with what happens in the comics. No form of control or protection for the characters. Everything with a few exceptions had been utter garbage. Only animated movies, TV shows, and cartoons count I guess.

I'm a casual reader but I remember really enjoying the super family stuff. I liked Jon and Damian's dynamic and how the two were being raised in a relatively good environment where the stories could be optimistic and pleasant without some edgy subversion. When I heard that they aged up Jon, my interest nosedived. I knew that it was only a matter of time until he was silently pushed into the corner and forgotten about.

Bendis is responsible for probably the most popular avengers/Spider-Man run.

Also sometimes when writers switch between Marvel and DC it can revitalize them if they were putting out stale stuff. Like look at Waid.

      >most popular avengers
Absolutely not. As an Avenfers fan, Bendis' control was 8 long years of shit. He had the excellent fortune of working with the best artists in the biz and the book drove events. Units sold always outpaced the quality of the writing. His dialogue is atrocious. Not because of the goofy Mamet aping, although that sucks too, but because it was monolithic. Characters were completely flattened, there was no differentiation, no individual voices.
Not to mention his rampant ignorance of continuity, even his own. Frick Bendis, boycott Bendis.

As someone who hadn't been an Avengers fan I didn't mind his Avengers run. Then Bendis went to X-Men and I understood exactly why Avengers fans cursed his name. Then he literally destroyed Superman. Frick Bendis. Never again reading a book by that piece of shit garbage hack.

Despite being a companies that have historically just abandoned a lot of talent for getting old, the Big 2 have bought into the "superstar writers" myth so hard that they have a really difficult time figuring out when a former "big name" has fallen from grace and is likely to drive away more readers than he'll bring in. There are a lot of parallels between DC bringing in Bendis and giving him Superman in the 2010s and Marvel bringing back John Byrne and giving him Spider-Man in the late 90s, the audience had turned against them by then and didn't want them, but the industry thought they were still a draw. There are probably still people at Marvel who would re-hire Bendis because they can't comprehend a star talent not being a star anymore.
