So? What's the harm in trying? They would damn well have won too if the Oscars weren't a bunch of old farts. I can guarantee ten years down the line they're gonna honor Feige with some sort of honorary Oscar just to maintain public interest alive.
Not Endgame, but honestly, Infinity War is whatever-homosexual-award worthy. Shuffling that many characters, many with several movies worth of backstories and characterizations, and having these vastly separate characters interact, while making all characters feel true to themselves AND (most importantly of all) not having it be an incoherent mess, is honestly a very impressive feat. Add on an actual compelling villain and actual shocking ending, and having it be consistently engaging and entertaining. It is actually a very very impressive movie, and arguably the best superhero movie of all time.
I'm not even a big marvel dork or anything, I usually think superhero movies are fricking gay, but Infinity War is a very good movie that is very well written
No I would argue writing that movie required more effort and talent than whatever homosexual arthouse dramas were nominated for best writing that year.
I know it's like the cringiest "omg superhero movies <333 i love goyslop", and in any other situation I'd agree, and I'm well aware awards are a homosexual circlejerk anyway, but still... Infinity War is a well written movie
It's not. What it has is years of previous movies that explain itself, so it can dramatize various sequences without having to write them properly. As a standalone movie, it doesn't make much sense. I know it seems like character decisions make sense for the characters, but that's because they cut away at very convenient times.
So in other words, they have dialogue to fill people in that haven't seen them. Much of the movie is written toward filling in what would otherwise be plot holes, but it's through exposition that often breaks continuity with past films.
how come they didnt nominate Avengers Endgame?
it was a production 10 years in the making
it was a huge task to bring this film together, kind of like what Hackson went through with LOTR
so why did LOTR: RotK get nominated while Avengers Endgame did not?
They made themselves unwatchable. Captain America could have existed by itself, but not with the hulk, thor etc. Once it's totally unbelievable it doesn't matter.
They could win the oscar if they introduced Tobey SpiderMan, X-Men, etc. But they preferred resurrecting characters and "killing" Iron Reddit (Who could be resurrected but they didnt do it)
those arent real awads and the oscar isnt a real award but
>best film editing
endgame had that girl power scene that didnt even make sense and wasnt really possible with what was going on. its like a "made for trailer" scene that they accidentally left in the movie
If Will Smith hadn't slapped Chris Rock, a bigger deal would have been made about those 2 "audience" Oscars that Snyder got.
It's the equivalent of high schoolers voting for the school's biggest loser as Prom King as a joke, but neither Snyder or his fanboys have that kind of self awareness.
Oh, they were aware. Everyone voting for it knew this whole thing was made exclusively for Disney and Kevin Feige, since a year before Feige had complained about Black Panther not being perceived as an art movie despite how much it made or how "relevant" it was.
Legitimately not any more ridiculous than the fact that fricking LotR won Best Picture.
>cramming as many CGI capehomosexuals onscreen is exactly the same as having practical costumes and effects and well-trained actors
Bet you love the star wars prequels too
Most of the LotR movies are just CGI armies running around and they have basically the same quip humor.
>cramming as many CGI capehomosexuals onscreen
you can't articulate the difference? Between storied western fantasy and capeshit? Very contrarian, here's the (you) you fricking mongoloid
Seethe, zoomie
if you can't see the differences between lotr and marvlel you're clinically plebtarded
At least marvel movies are trash adapted from trash.
Holy frick it's a bait war.
Who is going to catch the most fish?
Not really. The only worthwhile competition was Master and Commander.
God you just gave me the whiplash how the only valkyrie we ever see in Marvel is the black lesbian butch.
So? What's the harm in trying? They would damn well have won too if the Oscars weren't a bunch of old farts. I can guarantee ten years down the line they're gonna honor Feige with some sort of honorary Oscar just to maintain public interest alive.
endgame was a piece of shit
Did they really think they had a chance or did the fanboy cries pressure them into doing it?

kek
Well edited maybe.

>Sequel wouldn't make much sense as a standalone
Stunning insight on Cinemaphile tonight

Try better next time, just describing a crossover and adding "good", "true" or "coherent" is not gonna work because you sound like a redditor.
Captai Marvel writer now writing fallout
They literally gave RDJ a pity oscar for his shit performance in angloheimer, so it kinda paid off.
how come they didnt nominate Avengers Endgame?
it was a production 10 years in the making

Because LotR had a better demographic supporting it in its fandom.
i made a poopoo peepee: end game
They made themselves unwatchable. Captain America could have existed by itself, but not with the hulk, thor etc. Once it's totally unbelievable it doesn't matter.
>The movie hits you like a shot in the heart.
That just doesn't sound appealing.

A movie where a character says "computer, invent time travel" bc the writers cornered themselves was never going to win serious awards
SHIIIIIIIIT
>best sound
Disney MCU movies are notorious for their absolute shit sound, wtf are they smoking?
those arent real awads and the oscar isnt a real award but
>best film editing
endgame had that girl power scene that didnt even make sense and wasnt really possible with what was going on. its like a "made for trailer" scene that they accidentally left in the movie
literally every fricking film tries this no matter how laughable it is
How close were they?
Holy shit who is the troony on the far left
Literally the daughter of the guy who just tried to overthrow Disney leadership so that he could purge Disney of trannies and minorities
Reminder that Disney put so much pressure that the Oscars eventually came up with those fan favorite Oscar thing, all so the MCU could win it.
Then the entire thing got coopted by the Zack Snyder's fanboys.
If Will Smith hadn't slapped Chris Rock, a bigger deal would have been made about those 2 "audience" Oscars that Snyder got.
