I hope Cavill gets a great introduction as Bond. Similar to Brosnan.

Yes I can because it's his terrible acting that did a lot of the damage. He looks like a cartoon superhero but just sucks at emoting. I think he plays villains pretty well, but any time he's trying to be charismatic it's just painful.

He's like a woman's fantasy of a man and that's why he appeals to closeted homosexuals than actual men. Aaron looks cooler.

Well there's a good chance he's gay anyway.

            >Also he looks like a roided out gym rat
Does he? He's big but he doesn't look ridiculous and carries it off. Critics called Connery a "gorilla in a suit" when Dr. No came out.
My main problem is that he doesn't really have leading man presence. All the Bond actors had it Cavill doesn't.

Yeah and look how much more jacked he is than Connery. For Superman yeah, it's a good look but for Bond it should be someone more swave who seems like they can go unnoticed.

They're both to blame. At least in Cavill was good in the role there would have been opportunity to use him in other people's movies as the same character. Snyder just destroyed DC movies for the foreseeable future.

do you have any example in mind of a good character in a bad movie that is re-used successfully elsewhere ? It doesn't ring a bell to me

                Anonymous

                >It's more theoretical, that if it was someone well cast for the role it would at least give the opportunity. Like even though the Suicide Squad movies were awful, I think Margot Robbie does a pretty good Harley Quinn so even though Birds of Prey wasn't great it was at least fun and watchable. Or as the counterpoint to that, I thought there was a lot that was good about Wonder Woman 1984 but Gal Gadot sucks in the role so overall it sucked but could have been good with a better actor.

Depends who they cast as Bond. That choice will determine the direction the franchise will take.

Barbara and Michael just take what's popular in the time so the casting of ATJ will go hand in hand with the direction which will just be stuff like Bullet Train or John Wick which are the most notable action movie styles right now.

No one was fancasting as ATJ as Bond. That's why it's going to be him. It's an actor no one associated with the role ever in the Bond fandom despite it making a lot of sense. He's had the only credible reports as sources within Variety and other big sites (E!, Deadline) say that while yes, he hasn't been offered the contract just yet, he's the guy. Cavill was never going to be Bond, not even in 2006. It's over.

ATJ's been the only actor since Craig to have widespread reports about being picked as the new James Bond. It's not in the same league whatsoever with Cavill. There is no official announcement but the story has gained worldwide coverage even in the rumour phase and so many outlets around the globe wouldn't report it last month if there was no smoke before the fire hence why I believe he's the new Bond and that the announcement will come soon.

The idea that Cavill will somehow magically save Bond is a pipe dream. If he got the role there is no reason to think he will have meaningful influence over the approach they take. I like Cavill and would prefer him over ATJ however, all this Cavill posting is just sad.

It is the truth. Cavill would kill the franchise. Look up John Gavin, that's who they wanted to replace Sean Connery with after DAF instead of Roger Moore initially. That guy would've killed the franchise, same as Cavill would now. ATJ is the Roger Moore choice.

Explain why I am wrong instead of making a statement like a person with above 80IQ would. I will explain my mind, unlike you. See, Roger was popular back then for sure and they wanted him as Bond but what I mean by relating ATJ's casting to Roger Moore is that they always looked for Connery wannabes and mimics who would've been sterile, hence why I compared this with Cavill, while Roger was a completely different person to Connery in both appearance and personality, which was refreshing than another George Lazenby or John Gavin. Hence why the series continued for 50 years more.
