But I think with the advances of AI we're seeing at the moment it's really starting to look prophetic and maybe even in a few generations from now we would have something like the Butlerian Jihad as a reaction to increasing AI hampering individual and overall development

She's an Imperial princess she wouldn't just be hanging out with either Harkonnens or Atreides, especially not Atreides given the circumstances. there's nothing in the books to suggest her father gave her free reign to do whatever or that should even slightly care about either family or their politics at that point
The party just shows some Arrakeen notables and fleshes out the setting as well as Paul's relationship with his parents a bit

The weird looking Harkonnens is a perfectly fine aesthetic choice, and the movie does a good job using visuals to get across to the viewer that the baron is a guy with macabre tastes and insatiable appetites. The reason they fail as villains in Dunc is because they don't get their great dialogues from the book. Instead they stand around striking villainous poses and the baron occasionally delivers a greatly truncated version of his book dialogue in a harsh whisper.
