I did, and dude was not only fully prepared to handle the defenses the moment he was free, he also had the presence of mind and the flexibility to delicately use his tail to unlock his restraints like he wasn't under any real pain at all. I think at the very least had Shifu consoled Tai Lung instead of turning away in disappointment. Especially since it's likely Shifu was disappointed in himself more than Tai Lung but Tai didn't see it that way. Like even decades later after being a murderer, imprisoned, and returning for revenge "I've always been proud of you" still shook Tai Lung a bit, it could have probably saved him all those years ago.

I did, and dude was not only fully prepared to handle the defenses the moment he was free, he also had the presence of mind and the flexibility to delicately use his tail to unlock his restraints like he wasn't under any real pain at all. Dude was totally alert, clear headed, and obviously spent far more time figuring out how to make a clean escape than he ever did on why he was placed into prison in the first place.
